KUPS (90.1 FM) is a non-commercial college radio station in Tacoma, Washington located at 90.1 MHz FM. KUPS began operations in 1968 as an experiment in closed-circuit AM broadcasting. At that time, the station was available only in buildings on the campus of the University of Puget Sound. KUPS broadcasts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to the greater Tacoma area on 90.1FM and to the rest of the world online. The station is administered by the Associated Students of the University of Puget Sound, and is run by over 120 student volunteers and paid staff members. KUPS features many shows, such as Milo Hensley and Hayden Smith's "Middle School Sleepover" with many genres, including: Alternative, Loud Rock, Hip-Hop, Electronic, and Jazz programs with listeners in the Tacoma, Washington area.

It offers 1,200 courses each year in more than 50 traditional and interdisciplinary areas of study. The university is affiliated with the United Methodist Church.

Peyton Field at Baker Stadium is a 3,500-seat outdoor multi-purpose stadium in the northwest United States, located on the campus of the University of Puget Sound in the north end of Tacoma, Washington. Built 59 years ago in 1964 with a grant from prominent Tacoma businessman John S. Baker, it is home to UPS Logger football, soccer, track and field, cross country, and lacrosse. The field is named after former Puget Sound alumni Joe Peyton, who was a long-time coach and faculty member.The stadium has covered seating of 3,000 and uncovered seating of 500.

The North 23rd Street Bridge in Tacoma, Washington, United States, is a concrete rigid frame bridge that was designed by engineers Waddell & Harrington in 1909. It was built for the City of Tacoma by contractors Creelman, Putman, and Healy. It is significant as an early concrete rigid frame bridge. It has "massive, overdesigned concrete beams" that are "6 feet wide at the center, and 13 feet at the ends". The beams are "8 feet deep at the center, and 12 feet deep at the ends." It is 312 feet (95 m) long and 30 feet (9.1 m) wide.: 1–2 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The North 21st Street Bridge in Tacoma, Washington was built in 1910. It was designed by engineers Waddell & Harrington and is a continuous concrete rigid-frame girder bridge. It is significant as one of the very earliest examples of its type. It was built "almost simultaneously" with the 950-foot (290 m) Asylum Avenue Aqueduct in Knoxville, Tennessee, which was documented by Carl W. Condit to be the first continuous concrete girder bridge to be built.: 1–2 It has three 60 feet (18 m) reinforced concrete spans with four continuous girders. Its spans are supported by reinforced concrete columns and abutments. The bridge has "massive and over-designed" slabs (9 feet (2.7 m) deep) and beams from 4 to 7 feet (1.2 to 2.1 m) wide, from 9 to 11 feet (2.7 to 3.4 m) deep. It is 48 feet (15 m) wide to accommodate trolley tracks in the middle.The bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Engine House No. 9 in Tacoma, Washington, is a fire station built in 1907. The building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.It hosted horse-drawn fire equipment from 1908 until the first motorized equipment was bought in 1919. When eventually a replacement station was being completed, the 1965 Puget Sound earthquake shook the building and it was abruptly abandoned. It was reopened in 1973 as a restaurant and bar and was "the city's first historic building to be restored and put to a commercial use by private enterprise."The building remains a neighborhood restaurant and also houses an award-winning microbrewery of the same name.

The Slater Museum of Natural History is a natural history museum in Tacoma, Washington. The museum is located on the campus of University of Puget Sound at 1500 N. Warner St. Tacoma, WA 98416. The museum's collection has 29,987 mammals, 26,340 birds, 8,237 amphibians and reptiles, 12,500 insects and 13,000 plants. The collection grows at a rate of one to two percent every year. It was founded by James R. Slater.The museum is host to the world’s second largest bird wing collection. The images are available to the public through the University of Puget Sound’s Wing & Tail Image Collection.

Prospect Hill is a neighborhood of the north end neighborhood of Tacoma, Washington. Although Prospect Hill is considered to be the official planning name of the area, it has also gone by many other names. Locals commonly refer to it as Little Germany because of its narrow roads; it vaguely resembles a residential neighborhood that could be found somewhere in Europe. Prospect Hill is a small neighborhood with large, expensive houses. The area borders on Yakama Gulch to the west, overlooks Commencement Bay to the north, and has sweeping views of Old Tacoma to the east. The few houses with views of the waterfront - mostly located on North and Orchard Roads - are some of the most expensive properties in the city and often sell for well over $1 million as of April 2006.

Hilltop Heritage Middle School , formerly known as Jason Lee Middle School and originally as West Intermediate School, was the first and largest of six intermediate schools funded in 1923. It was created on the former campus of the College of Puget Sound (now the University of Puget Sound) at 6th Avenue and North Sprague Avenue in Tacoma, Washington by architect Roland E. Borhek. The school was named after the notable missionary Jason Lee, but was later renamed to distance itself from the questionable methods of reeducating Native Peoples carried out by the pioneer. Hilltop Heritage has about 39 teachers educating over 600 students.

The William Ross Rust House is a house in Tacoma, Washington, United States, built in 1905 for William Ross Rust, then President of the Tacoma Smelter and Refining Company. The house was designed by Ambrose J. Russell, who worked for Russell & Babcock with Everett Phipps Babcock, and was built by Charles Miller. Russell & Babcock also designed the Washington Governor's Mansion. It was built of sandstone from the Wilkeson sandstone quarry in Wilkeson, Washington. The building has a green, glazed terra cotta tile roof, 18 rooms, 4 baths, and 8 fireplaces. It was modeled after the John A. McCall Mansion in Monmouth County, New Jersey (built in 1903, destroyed by fire in 1927). It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 23, 1985.

The Engine House No. 13 in Tacoma, Washington, at 3825 N. Twenty-fifth St., is a fire station, which was built in 1911. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.It has red brick walls, with brick laid in stretcher bond. The second floor exterior was stuccoed.In 1985, this was still an active fire station.
