Desert Hills High School (DHHS) is a public charter high school in Gilbert, Arizona. It is operated by The Leona Group, which also operates other charter schools in Arizona, Florida, Ohio and Michigan. As of 2012 Desert Hills inducted the National Business Honor Society program. It is the first charter school in the state to do so.

The American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry (AOBNP) is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) and physicians who specialize in disorders of the nervous system (neurologists) and to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine and physicians who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders (psychiatrists). The board is one of 16 medical specialty certifying boards of the American Osteopathic Association Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists (AOABOS) of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). Established in 1941, the AOBNP is responsible for examining physicians who have completed an ACGME-accredited residency in neurology and/or psychiatry. Since its inception, over 630 physicians have achieved primary certification in psychiatry and 400 in neurology, along with physicians holding subspecialty certifications.The purpose of the certification examination is to ensure that physicians who have completed the required training have a high level of competency and therefore can safely provide services to their patients which meets a well established standard of care. Physicians who successfully pass the examination are recommended by the AOBNP to the AOABOS for certification. The AOABOS holds the ultimate authority in conferring board certification.The AOBNP is one of two certifying boards for neurologists and psychiatrists in the United States. The other certifying authority is the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc. (ABPN), a member board of the American Board of Medical Specialties.

SanTan Village is an open-air, super regional lifestyle center located in Gilbert, Arizona that spans 1,200,000 square feet (110,000 m2) of gross leasable area. It sits at the core of a 500-acre (2.0 km2) project that, upon planned full build out, will encompass 3,000,000 square feet (280,000 m2) of retail, restaurants, entertainment, office space, residential and hotel uses. It was the last mall to be developed by Westcor and is still owned by Macerich. The mall features the traditional retailers Macy's, Dillard's, Dick's Sporting Goods, Best Buy, Barnes & Noble in addition to a 16-screen Harkins Theatres. The SanTan Village Marketplace, located south of the mall, is an urban village mixed with many other retail and restaurant areas designed for urban shopping.

Agritopia is a 166-acre mixed use planned community in Gilbert, Arizona designed to encourage agrarianism combined with a sense of community among the socioeconomic ranges. It is an agrihood with housing plots, a certified organic farm, and commercial spaces. Homes range from 1300 square feet to 7000 square feet. Narrow streets and front porches with low back fences were developed with the goal of encouraging neighborly socialization.The neighborhood was developed by Joe Johnston in the 2000s on the site of his family farm. It contains 452 lots on which the developer built single family homes, cottages, and bungalows, all in neotraditional architectural styles from the early 20th Century in the U.S. The community also includes a functioning urban farm, a community garden, a private 470-student Christian school, a community center, a retirement home, and four restaurants. The developers established neighborhood covenants which encouraged home-based and agricultural businesses, and pedestrian transit, but discouraged rental housing.Within Agritopia are currently two stand-alone restaurants. Joe's Farm Grill was featured on the Food Network's show "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" hosted by Guy Fieri. Next to Joe's Farm Grill is The Coffee Shop which won an episode of Food Network's "Cupcake Wars". A set of buildings called "Barnone" features artisanal craftsmen selling their goods and making them onsite.

Williams Field High School (WFHS) is a high school in Gilbert, Arizona. It is the second high school formed by the Higley Unified School District, and opened in August 2007. Its first students graduated in 2010. The school is named after Williams Air Force Base (which went by the name Williams Field between 1942 and 1948; a local major road also bears the name Williams Field). The school is located near Higley Elementary and the Lyons Gate community.

Higley was an unincorporated community in Maricopa County, Arizona, United States. Higley's ZIP code was 85236 until 2007, when the U.S. Postal Service decided to abolish it for physical addresses, the 85236 ZIP code, however, remains in use for P.O. Box addresses at the Higley post office, located on Ray Road. As of 2010, almost all of Higley has been annexed into Gilbert or the neighboring cities of Mesa and Queen Creek. All that officially remains of Higley as an independent community is the school district, Higley Unified School District, however, some remaining commercial buildings in and around the original townsite are still standing and operate as small businesses.

Arizona's 5th congressional district is a congressional district located in the U.S. state of Arizona, currently represented by Republican Andy Biggs. The district contains Gilbert, Queen Creek, southern and eastern Chandler, and eastern Mesa. It is within eastern Maricopa County and northern Pinal County, and includes most of the East Valley. Its representative, Andy Biggs, was elected in November 2016.

Gilbert High School (GHS) is the oldest public high school in Gilbert, Arizona, United States and is part of Gilbert Public Schools. It opened in 1918 and celebrated its 100th graduating class in 2017. The school enrolled 2,051 students in 2018-19, grades 9–12, and operates on a traditional school calendar. Gilbert's colors are black and gold and the teams are collectively called the Tigers. In 2017, Gilbert High School earned the A+ School of Excellence™ Award from the Arizona Educational Foundation. The school is a member of the Arizona Interscholastic Association's 5A San Tan Athletics Conference and competes in Division I and II sports.

The Gilbert Arizona Temple at 3301 South Greenfield Road at the corner of East Pecos Road in Gilbert, Arizona, is a temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). The design of the temple was overseen by Gregory B. Lambright of Architekton. Groundbreaking took place in 2010 and the temple was dedicated in 2014.

Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch is a lake located in Gilbert, Arizona, United States, east of Greenfield Rd and south of Guadalupe Rd. The preserve was created by the Town of Gilbert in 1999 to combine water resources, wildlife habitat, educational programs, and recreational opportunities. The Riparian Preserve consists of 110 acres, with 70 acres of 7 water recharge basins. The Riparian Preserve also includes over 4.5 miles of trails that lead to various vegetative zones, gardens, a paleontology dig site, and an observatory. The Preserve houses approximately 298 species of birds, insects, fish, amphibians, reptiles, and mammals.

Mercy Gilbert Medical Center is a full-service, 212-bed, acute care, not-for-profit hospital providing healthcare to the East Valley of the Phoenix Arizona metropolitan area. Services offered include cardiovascular, emergency, family birth center, gastroenterology, pediatric and adolescent, sleep center, orthopedics, and diagnostic services, among others. The hospital is a member of Dignity Health, one of the largest healthcare systems in the west with 40 hospitals in Arizona, California and Nevada.

Gilbert Unified School District #41 (GUSD), also known as Gilbert Public Schools (GPS), is a school district based in Gilbert, Arizona, United States in the Phoenix metropolitan area. The 60.26-square-mile (156.1 km2) district is the 7th largest in Arizona, and serves over 34,000 students at 39 schools across Gilbert, Chandler, and Mesa, Arizona. In 2018, the district was awarded "4th Best School District in America" by the National Council for Home Safety and Security and "Best Public School/District" in the Best of Gilbert 2018 issue of the East Valley Tribune. As of spring 2019, thirteen GPS schools have earned the "A+ School of Excellence™ Award" from the Arizona Educational Foundation.
