Haystack Hills

Rattlesnake Knob is a summit in Sauk County, Wisconsin, in the United States. With an elevation of 1,204 feet (367 m), Rattlesnake Knob is the 105th highest summit in the state of Wisconsin. The summit lies adjacent to the Haystack Hills and about five miles west of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin along route H. Rattlesnake Knob was named for the rattlesnakes seen there by settlers.

The Hulburt Creek Garden Beds are an archaeological site on Birchwood Road near its intersection with County Highway H in the town of Delton, Wisconsin. The site encompasses 200 acres (81 ha) of ridged garden beds used by pre-Columbian Native Americans. Based on radiocarbon dating, the garden beds date to roughly 1000 A.D., making them the oldest surviving garden beds in the Upper Midwest; this places the site within the Late Woodland period. The garden beds were most likely used to grow native plants such as corn, beans, squash, and pumpkins. Landowner Bill Pierce donated the site to the Sauk County Historical Society in 2008. The site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on August 8, 1991.

Dellona is a town in Sauk County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,199 at the 2000 census. The unincorporated community of Dellwood is located in the town.

Rocky Arbor State Park is a 244-acre (99 ha) Wisconsin state park in the Wisconsin Dells region. The park was established in 1932 to protect sandstone outcrops eroded into picturesque walls and ledges.

The Polynesian Resort Hotel is a water park resort located in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. It was opened in 1989 and became the Wisconsin Dells's first indoor waterpark in 1994.

Dellwood is an unincorporated community in Sauk County, Wisconsin, United States. Dellwood is located on Wisconsin Highway 23 southwest of Lake Delton, in the town of Dellona.

Dell Creek is a warm freshwater stream that lies in northeastern Sauk County and southern Juneau County in central Wisconsin. Dell Creek was named from the dells which occur along its course. Dell Creek is a warm water sport fishery for the lower 1.5 miles and a Class II trout stream for the upper 10.5 miles of its length. The creek is classified as an exceptional resource water. Much of Dell Creek's length in Sauk County is publicly owned. The main problems on the creek are sediment and nutrient loading from agricultural sources and a lack of in-stream habitat. Surveys conducted in 1995 found low numbers of trout and determined the water quality to be from fair to poor in some locations. This indicates that the stream has experienced some severe environmental damage. It is thought that the limited habitat is one of the limiting factors for aquatic life. There are also two large impoundments on Dell Creek. One creates Lake Delton and the other creates Mirror Lake. Silt and sediment from farm fields are thought to be a problem in the stream and are causing a sediment problem in the upper end of Mirror Lake. Suspected high nutrient inputs to Mirror Lake from Dell Creek are thought to be fueling the excessive aquatic plant and algae growth in the lake.

Wisconsin Dells High School is a public high school located in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, and is a part of the Wisconsin Dells School District. It serves more than 600 students from the municipalities of Wisconsin Dells, Dell Prairie, Dellona, Delton, Jackson, Lake Delton, Lyndon, New Haven, Newport, and Springville.

The Seth Peterson Cottage is a one-story cottage in Mirror Lake State Park near Reedsburg in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright with Thomas Casey as the supervising architect, the house was built for computer operator Seth Peterson of Black Earth, Wisconsin, and was one of Wright's last designs. The exterior of the building has ashlar foundations and large glass windows. The cottage has a bedroom and a living–dining room, which encircles a utility core composed of a kitchen and bathroom. The roof above the bedroom is flat, while the rest of the cottage has a sloped roof. The house is on the National Register of Historic Places. Work on the cottage began in 1959, but Peterson died by suicide before it was completed. The house was acquired in 1961 by the Pritchard family, who completed construction. In 1966, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) bought the cottage as part of an expansion of Mirror Lake State Park. The house fell into disrepair until Audrey Laatsch, a local resident, formed the Seth Peterson Cottage Conservancy in 1989 to renovate the building. Following a $300,000 repair project, the house was opened to the public for rentals in 1992.

Mirror Lake State Park is a 2,179-acre (882 ha) Wisconsin state park in the Wisconsin Dells region. The process of establishing the park began in 1962 and the park officially opened on August 19, 1966. It contains Mirror Lake, a narrow reservoir with steep sandstone sides up to 50 feet (15 m) tall. The lake has a surface area of 137 acres (55 ha) and an average depth of 10 to 14 feet (3.0 to 4.3 m). Recessed out of the wind, the water of Mirror Lake is usually calm and often as glassy-smooth as a mirror, hence the name. Situated in a major tourist area, the state park has an extensive campground and other visitor amenities. Also located within the park is the Seth Peterson Cottage, a Frank Lloyd Wright-designed building available for public rental.

Cyclops is a wooden roller coaster located at Mt. Olympus Water & Theme Park in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. The ride starts with a left hand 180 degree dive off the lift, traverses three short hills, and a right-handed drop in front of the station (this is the 75 foot largest drop of the ride) and then climbs back up to the brakes. It is a short terrain roller coaster at only 1,750 feet. Cyclops first opened in 1995 and was built by Custom Coasters International and is intertwined with Zeus's structure. Cyclops was designed by Dennis McNulty and Larry Bill. The ride operates with a single five car train, built by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company. Like other coasters at Mount Olympus, Cyclops is very rough. The last car of the train was notable among coaster enthusiasts for the intense ejector "air-time" experienced during the ride, especially on the second hill beside the station. Because of this, only riders 18 and older were allowed in the last two rows. However, in 2014, the second hill was re-profiled, and now anyone over the height of 48 inches can ride in last two rows.
