Llanmartin (Welsh: Llanfarthyn) is a village and parish in the city of Newport, Wales.

Llanwern steelworks is located in Llanwern, east of the City of Newport, South Wales.

Underwood is a settlement in the city of Newport, South East Wales. It is an early 1960s council housing estate that consists of houses, shops, a leisure centre, Baptist church and social club called "Iscoed Tavern" owned by the company red dragon pubs. There is a community centre which has a gym attached to it. The leisure centre is now up for sale.

Wilcrick (Welsh: Chwilgrug) is a hamlet within the administrative boundary of the city of Newport, South Wales, just to the west of Magor and approximately 7 miles (11 km) southeast of Newport city centre. It is within the historic county of Monmouthshire.

Pencoed Castle is a ruined Tudor mansion, largely dating from the 16th century, in the parish of Llanmartin, now within the city of Newport, south Wales. It is located about 0.5 miles (0.80 km) east of Llanmartin village, and 0.5 miles (0.80 km) south-east of Llandevaud, at the end of a farm lane. Some outbuildings, which may be habitable, exist on the grounds. The property was sold in September 2020 but specifics were not provided as to the new owner or the plans for the property. In the meantime, it remained in ruins, not open to the public.

Llandevaud is a small hamlet in east Newport, Wales with a church about a half mile from the village centre, going down towards The Foresters Oaks, a restaurant and public house, previously named the Rising Sun. Near the church was a primary school, now a private dwelling, which closed down in the early 1960s. The last teachers at the school, the Phillipses, husband and wife, lived on the premises. At the time of its closure there were 25 pupils attending the school. Pupils were transferred to another larger school at Langstone, nearby.

CAF Newport is a rolling stock factory located at Celtic Business Park, near Llanwern steelworks in Newport. The site was announced as a train-building factory in 2016 and was producing rolling stock by 2018. It was officially opened by HRH Prince Charles on 21 February 2020.The factory is owned and operated by CAF Rolling Stock UK Ltd, a subsidiary of Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles (Spanish: Construction & Other Railway Services). CAF have to date built both DMUs and EMUs at the site.

Langstone is a community and village of the city of Newport, Wales. The area is governed by the Newport City Council. The community had a population of 3,279 in 2011.

Glan Llyn is the name of a mixed-use community development, to the south-east of Newport, South Wales, at the western end of the former Llanwern steelworks, on the A4810 road at the edge of the Caldicot Levels.

Llanwern is a community in the eastern part of the City of Newport, South East Wales. Llanwern is bounded by the M4 and Langstone to the north, Ringland, Lliswerry and the River Usk to the west, the River Severn to the south and the city boundary to the east. The population of the Llanwern community in 2011 was 333, which contains Llanwern village and the western half of the site of Llanwern steelworks. The area is governed by the Newport City Council. The community population dropped to 289 in 2011. The community also includes the area of Glan Llyn.

Llanwern railway station is a former station serving Llanwern on the east side of the city of Newport.

Llanwern is the name of an electoral ward for Newport City Council in south Wales. It covers several rural communities to the east of the city. It is represented by one city councillor.
