Berguedà

Free Software Street (Catalan: Carrer del Programari Lliure) is a street in the town of Berga in Catalonia, Spain. It is the first street in the world dedicated to the free software movement. It was officially opened on 3 July 2010.The street is about 300 metres (980 ft) long and is located in a newly redeveloped area known as Pla de l'Alemany in the southwestern part of town. It is a mixed-use street, with a large hotel (the Berga Park), a school, a police station, some offices, a parkland, and some undeveloped plots.

Avià is a municipality in the comarca of Berguedà, in Catalonia. Its population in 2007 was 2108 inhabitants. The municipality is made up of three towns: Avià, Graugés and La Plana. Its economical activity is based on agriculture and textile industry. In 2010 the population of the town was 2223. The mayor is Patrocini Canal Burniol.

L'Espunyola is a municipality located in the southwest of the comarca of Berguedà, Catalonia. Prior to 1983 it was known simply as "Espunyola," without an article. The municipality includes a small exclave to the west.

Gironella is a municipality in the comarca of the Berguedà in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated in the left bank of the Llobregat river to the south of Berga. The local economy is traditionally based on cotton spinning and textile manufacture, although tourism is now more important: the company towns or "colonies" of workers houses surround the cotton mills are of historical interest. The town is served by the C-16 road to Berga and the Cadí tunnel. Gironella, which has numerous stores, bars, and schools, is an important economic center for the smaller towns around it, such as Olvan, Sagàs or Casserres. The town is mentioned in a well-known traditional Catalan song, A Gironella or Cançó de Gironella, in which a young man laments being rejected by his beloved and being forced to leave the town behind.

Casserres is a town and municipality in the comarca of Berguedà, Catalonia, a part of the Baix Berguedà region. The town is named after the medieval castle, named Castrum Serris.

C-16 or Eix del Llobregat is a primary highway in Catalonia, Spain. It is also part of the European route E9, from Orléans (France) to Barcelona (Catalonia, Spain). According to the 2004 new codification for primary highways managed by the Generalitat de Catalunya, the first number (C-16) indicates that is a south-northbound highway, whereas the second number (C-16) indicates that is the sixth westernmost. The road starts at Barcelona's Via Augusta and heads northbound crossing the Serra de Collserola mountain range, through the Vallvidrera tunnel, and then the comarques of Vallès Occidental, Bages and Berguedà. Most of the route follows the valley of the Llobregat river, hence the name Eix del Llobregat. Finally it crosses another mountain range, the Serra del Cadí, through the Cadí Tunnel, and enters the comarca of Cerdanya. The highway finishes at the connection with road N-260 at Puigcerdà, very close to the French border. This highway, along with C-17, is a main south-north link in Catalonia, since it connects Barcelona with several significant inland cities and towns such as Terrassa, Manresa, Berga, and Puigcerdà. It is also the straightest and quickest way from the Cerdanya comarca and from Andorra to the centre, south, and east of Catalonia.

Sant Pere de la Portella is a Benedictine monastery in the town of La Quar, in the comarca of Berguedà, Catalonia, Spain. The 11th-century building was built in Romanesque style. In 2010, it was declared a Bien de Interés Cultural landmark.

Gisclareny is a municipality in the comarca of Berguedà, Catalonia, located in Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park. In 2018 it became again the smallest village in Catalonia after the village of Sant Jaume de Frontanyà grew by 3 families. The altitude of the inhabited space varies between 800 meters in the neighborhood of Bagà and 1430 in the neighborhood of Coll de la Bena. It is bounded on the north by the Cerdanya, reaching the peaks of the Serra del Cadí, and by Bagà, on the south and west by Saldes and Vallcebre, and on the east by Bagà and Guardiola de Berguedà. The alpine forests and meadows are the usual landscape of the municipality as well as a multitude of farmhouses scattered throughout the territory.
