Lyndale Secondary College is a co-educational government secondary school located in Dandenong North, Victoria, Australia. It has a student enrolment of approximately 1,200, and is known as one of the largest single campus schools in Victoria. The school is divided into two sub-schools—a middle school and a senior school. Its acting principal is Pam Robinson, and there are also two vice principals. The principal features of the campus are the Hugh McRae Hall, a Resource Centre (Library), a Senior Studies Wing, a Language Centre (West Wing), the well-equipped Graeme Fox Stadium, a STEM Centre, and recently completed Performing Arts centre.

The Southside Flyers are a professional women's basketball team competing in the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL). The club is based in Dandenong, Melbourne, Victoria. The team was founded as the Dandenong Rangers, however before the 2019–20 WNBL season began the team was rebranded to the Southside Flyers, adopting a new logo, colour scheme and nickname. The team also transitioned owners at this time. Historically, they have been one of the more successful franchises in league history, regularly making the playoffs, but have struggled over the past two years to make the grand final, falling short in the preliminary final stage. They are strong rivals with the cross-town Melbourne Boomers. The franchise has been home to notable players such as Lauren Jackson, Penny Taylor, Jessica Bibby, Emily McInerny, Jacinta Hamilton, Jenna O'Hea, Kathleen MacLeod and Liz Cambage.

Chisholm Institute is a government-owned Technical and Further Education (TAFE) Institute located in south-east Melbourne Australia. It provides adult education in several areas including the arts, hospitality, information technology, trades and business. Chisholm offers over 250 certificate, diploma, advanced diploma, bachelor and graduate certificate courses.The Institute takes its name from Caroline Chisholm. Its name was also inspired by the Chisholm Institute of Technology, a tertiary institution that operated in southeast Melbourne from 1982 to 1990 before becoming part of Monash University.Chisholm Institute has campuses in Dandenong, Springvale, Berwick, Frankston, Wonthaggi, Cranbourne, and Mornington Peninsula Campus along with central Melbourne.Berwick Technical Education Centre (TEC) was established at the Berwick campus with the new building completed in 2009. A new trade careers centre worth $26 million associated with the TEC was announced in the 2011 State Budget in May.

Dandenong High School is one of the largest co-educational government secondary schools in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, catering for students from Years 7 to 12. It is the oldest school, public or private, in Melbourne's outer east, and now has 1400 students alone on its Dandenong site on the north side of the Princes Highway. The historic façade of the Administration Building will remain, as it is heritage-listed and is a landmark of Dandenong. At the start of 2007, Dandenong High School, Cleeland Secondary College and Doveton Secondary College officially merged to become the new Dandenong High School, as part of the Federal Government's Building the Education Revolution. As of 2017, the school has 165 teaching and 54 non-teaching staff, as well as 1785 students.

Dandenong ( DAN-di-nong) is a southeastern suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, about 35 km (22 mi) from the Melbourne CBD. It is the council seat of the City of Greater Dandenong local government area, with a recorded population of 30,127 at the 2021 census. Situated mainly on the northwest bank of the lower Dandenong Creek, it is 21.6 km (13.4 mi) from the eponymous Dandenong Ranges to its northeast and completely unrelated in both location and nature of the settlement. A regional transport hub and manufacturing centre of Victoria, Dandenong is located at the junctional region of the Dandenong Valley Highway, Princes Highway, Monash Freeway and Dingley Freeway, and is the gateway town of the Gippsland railway line into West Gippsland. It is directly neighboured from the north and south by two sister suburbs Dandenong North and Dandenong South, from the east by Doveton, and from the northwest and southwest by Noble Park and Keysborough, respectively. The easternmost and westernmost neighbourhoods of suburb are also unofficially named Dandenong East and Dandenong West, separated from the main portions of the suburb by Stud Road and Princes Highway, and Cheltenham Road and Gladstone Road/Jones Road/Bennet Street, respectively. Dandenong began as a township in 1852 and at the start of the 20th century was an important regional city with its own suburbs. During the mid-20th century it became a major manufacturing and commercial area, and eventually an incorporated satellite city of the expanding Greater Melbourne conurbation. Noble Park North recorded a population of 7,436 at the 2021 census.Noble Park North is bounded in the west by the edge of the Springvale Crematorium, in the north by Police Road, in the east by Bakers Road, Halton Road and Eastlink, and in the southwest by the Princes Highway.

Yarraman railway station is a minor commuter railway station on the Pakenham and Cranbourne lines of the metropolitan railway network in Victoria, Australia, located about 27 km (17 mi) from the Melbourne CBD. It serves neighbourhoods between the south-eastern Melbourne suburbs of Noble Park and Dandenong, and is named after the nearby Yarraman Creek, a first-order tributary of the lower Dandenong Creek/Patterson River system. The EastLink toll road is located near the down (south-eastern) end of the station, crossing the line via an overpass. The EastLink Trail, which follows the tollway, uses the entrance footbridge of the station to traverse the railway. The station was opened on 21 December, 1976. To allow its construction, the existing up track was slewed in 1974. At that time, an alternative name for the station, "Fotheringham", was suggested, to recognise a notable local family.In 2015, the Level Crossing Removal Project announced the grade separation of the nearby Chandler Road level crossing. Construction began in 2016, with the level crossing removed and a railway overpass built over the road by 2018. Unlike many stations between Noble Park and Caulfield, that were elevated on viaducts as part of the level crossing removal project, the tracks between Dandenong and Noble Park largely remained at ground level. Yarraman station was not rebuilt because it is over 500 metres away from the Chandler Road viaduct.

Melbourne Talk Radio (callsign 3MP) was a radio station in Melbourne that commenced broadcasting on 19 April 2010 until its closure on 2 March 2012. It replaced, and was later succeeded by, 3MP, which used the 1377 kHz frequency. The station's transmitter is located in the suburb of Rowville and broadcasts at 5 kW.
