Collingswood Public Schools

Collingswood station is a stop in Collingswood, New Jersey on the PATCO Speedline between Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Lindenwold, New Jersey. It provides access to the nearby historic and shopping district along Haddon Avenue. It also provides Park and Ride access. The station has a single island platform. It is grouped with the Westmont and Haddonfield stations in ride pricing from Philadelphia.

Stokes-Lee House is located in Collingswood, Camden County, New Jersey, United States, on the 600 block of Lees Avenue. The house was built in 1707 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 10, 1987.

Haddon Township is a township in Camden County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 15,407, an increase of 700 (+4.8%) from the 2010 census count of 14,707, which in turn reflected an increase of 56 (+0.4%) from the 14,651 counted in the 2000 census.Under the terms of an act of the New Jersey Legislature on February 23, 1865, Haddon Township was incorporated from portions of Newton Township. The following communities were subsequently created from the Haddon Township: Haddonfield (April 6, 1875), Collingswood (May 22, 1888), Woodlynne (March 19, 1901), Haddon Heights (March 2, 1904), Audubon (March 13, 1905) and Oaklyn (also March 13, 1905). The township was named for early settler Elizabeth Haddon.Haddon Township allows the sale of alcohol, and has several bars and restaurants which serve alcoholic beverages, unlike the neighboring boroughs of Collingswood, Haddonfield and Haddon Heights which prohibit the sale of alcohol.

It is the sole secondary school of Collingswood Public Schools. As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 777 students and 65.6 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.9:1. There were 265 students (34.1% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 38 (4.9% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.Students in grades 9–12 from Oaklyn and Woodlynne attend Collingswood High School as part of sending/receiving relationships with the Oaklyn Public School District and Woodlynne School District.

As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 14,186, an increase of 260 (+1.9%) from the 2010 census count of 13,926, which in turn reflected a decline of 400 (−2.8%) from the 14,326 counted in the 2000 census.Owing in part to its Quaker history, Collingswood was founded as a dry town where alcohol cannot be sold, however restaurant patrons are permitted to bring their own wine and beer to consume. In July 2015, the town introduced an ordinance that allows craft breweries to operate in the town but not serve food. The ordinance passed in August 2015.Collingswood is well known for its selection of shops and restaurants primarily along Haddon Avenue and was ranked as the "#1 small-town food scene in America" by USA Today in May 2018.

The Cooper River is a tributary of the Delaware River in southwestern New Jersey in the United States.The confluence of the Cooper River with the Delaware River is in Camden. The Cooper River serves as a border between Cherry Hill and Haddon Township, Haddonfield, and Lawnside. The Cooper River (known upstream near Haddonfield as Cooper's Creek) was named after the Cooper family, who were some of the first European settlers in the area of Camden County, New Jersey. This tributary of the Delaware River is 16 miles (25.7 km) long measuring from its headwater in Gibbsboro (it is notable that the Northern Branch begins in Voorhees Township). The Cooper River Watershed covers 40 square miles (100 km2), and includes the tributaries Chandlers Run, Millard Creek, Nicholson Branch, the North Branch, and Tindale Run (the last two being the most significant). Although historically a tidal river (the most severe tide reportedly reached Kings Highway), all present tidal influence stops at the Kaighn Avenue Bridge, in Camden, where it is impounded. The Cooper flows through Barrington, Berlin Township, Camden, Cherry Hill, Collingswood, Gibbsboro, Haddon Township, Haddonfield, Lawnside, Lindenwold, Magnolia, Merchantville, Pennsauken Township, Somerdale, Stratford, Tavistock and Voorhees Township.The Cooper also has seven impoundments, not listed in geographical order: Cooper River Lake, Evans Pond, Hopkins Pond, Kirkwood Lake, Linden Lake, Square Circle Lake, Wallworth Lake.

The area is served as United States Postal Service ZIP Code 08108. The downtown portion of the township is known as Westmont, a name probably derived from a noted harness racing horse.

Haddon Township High School is a four-year comprehensive community public high school serving students in ninth through twelfth grades, located in Haddon Township, in Camden County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, operating as the lone secondary school of the Haddon Township School District. The school offers courses in math, science, languages, humanities and various vocational skills. It also offers athletics and after-school clubs and organizations. The school follows a quarter-semester system, uses a 5-point GPA scale, and offers Advanced Placement and honors-level courses, both of which use a weighted average grading system. As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 616 students and 52.1 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.8:1. There were 63 students (10.2% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 14 (2.3% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

Saddler's Woods is a 25 acres (10 ha) forest in Haddon Township, Camden County, New Jersey that includes the headwater spring of Newton Creek. Despite its location just 5 miles (8.0 km) from Philadelphia, Saddler's Woods includes wetlands, young woodlands, and old-growth forest. The Arowmen and Erinwonek tribes of the Lenape people once lived in the area. Beginning in the 17th century, the surrounding forests were cleared for farms, timber, and fuel by European settlers. The woods are named for a nineteenth-century owner, Joshua Saddler, who in 1868 he wrote in his will that none of his heirs "shall cut the timber thereon." When threatened by development, part of the Woods was purchased by the Township in 1999. The remaining area was protected by a conservation easement in 2003. The Saddler's Woods Conservation Association currently works to restore and maintain the Woods. Tree species in the Woods include Eastern Black Oak, White Oak, Northern Red Oak, American Beech, Tulip Poplar, and Red Maple. Some trees measure 13 feet (4.0 m) in diameter and are 300 years old. There are American Chestnut and Spicebush in the understory.

The Ritz Theatre is an active live producing non-profit theatre located in Haddon Township, Camden County, New Jersey, United States. It is home to The Ritz Theatre Company (formerly Puttin' on the Ritz, Inc.) The company produces mainstage plays and musicals, children's theater, runs a summer theatre arts day camp and reaches out to its community with educational and entertaining programming.

Paul VI High School is a private Catholic high school located in Haddon Township, in Camden County, New Jersey, United States. As there is no post office in Haddon Township, the mailing address is Haddonfield. The school, founded in 1966, is named in honor of Pope Paul VI and is overseen by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Camden. The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 1979.As of the 2017–18 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,060 students and 74.8 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 14.2:1. The school's student body was 76.3% (809) White, 8.8% (93) Black, 6.5% (69) Asian, 4.8% (51) Hispanic and 3.5% (37) two or more races.The 244-meet win streak by the boys cross country team, which ended in October 2007 after 28 years, was cited by The Philadelphia Inquirer as "an epic achievement".

The Haddon Township School District is a comprehensive community public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade from Haddon Township, in Camden County, New Jersey, United States.As of the 2018–19 school year, the district, comprised of seven schools, had an enrollment of 2,060 students and 165.9 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 12.4:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "FG", the fourth-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.A lobbying effort by students at Strawbridge Elementary school led John A. Rocco and Thomas J. Shusted to introduce a bill to name the hadrosaurus foulkii as the official state dinosaur; the legislation was signed into law by Governor James Florio with students from the school in attendance at the signing ceremony.
