Saddler's Woods is a 25 acres (10 ha) forest in Haddon Township, Camden County, New Jersey that includes the headwater spring of Newton Creek. Despite its location just 5 miles (8.0 km) from Philadelphia, Saddler's Woods includes wetlands, young woodlands, and old-growth forest. The Arowmen and Erinwonek tribes of the Lenape people once lived in the area. Beginning in the 17th century, the surrounding forests were cleared for farms, timber, and fuel by European settlers. The woods are named for a nineteenth-century owner, Joshua Saddler, who in 1868 he wrote in his will that none of his heirs "shall cut the timber thereon." When threatened by development, part of the Woods was purchased by the Township in 1999. The remaining area was protected by a conservation easement in 2003. The Saddler's Woods Conservation Association currently works to restore and maintain the Woods. Tree species in the Woods include Eastern Black Oak, White Oak, Northern Red Oak, American Beech, Tulip Poplar, and Red Maple. Some trees measure 13 feet (4.0 m) in diameter and are 300 years old. There are American Chestnut and Spicebush in the understory.

Haddon Township is a township in Camden County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 15,407, an increase of 700 (+4.8%) from the 2010 census count of 14,707, which in turn reflected an increase of 56 (+0.4%) from the 14,651 counted in the 2000 census.Under the terms of an act of the New Jersey Legislature on February 23, 1865, Haddon Township was incorporated from portions of Newton Township. The following communities were subsequently created from the Haddon Township: Haddonfield (April 6, 1875), Collingswood (May 22, 1888), Woodlynne (March 19, 1901), Haddon Heights (March 2, 1904), Audubon (March 13, 1905) and Oaklyn (also March 13, 1905). Haddon Township High School is a four-year comprehensive community public high school serving students in ninth through twelfth grades, located in Haddon Township, in Camden County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, operating as the lone secondary school of the Haddon Township School District. The school offers courses in math, science, languages, humanities and various vocational skills. It also offers athletics and after-school clubs and organizations. The school follows a quarter-semester system, uses a 5-point GPA scale, and offers Advanced Placement and honors-level courses, both of which use a weighted average grading system. As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 616 students and 52.1 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.8:1. There were 63 students (10.2% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 14 (2.3% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.
