Doune Hill

The Luss Hills are a hill range located in Argyll, Scotland. They are part of the southern foothills of the Grampian Mountains and lie west of Loch Lomond, above the village of Luss in the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. A popular destination for hillwalking, the highest peak in the range is Doune Hill at 734 m. Other Hills include Beinn Eich, Beinn Dubh and Mid Hill.

Tullich Hill (632 m) is a hill in the southern Grampian Mountains of Scotland. It lies south of the village of Arrochar, between Loch Long and Loch Lomond in Argyll. An irregular, rocky hill, its most distinguished feature is the corrie on its southern slopes.

Glen Douglas (Scottish Gaelic: Gleann Dùghlais) is a glen in the southwest Scottish Highlands. It is drained by the Douglas Water, which discharges at the village of Inverbeg at its eastern end into Loch Lomond. The glen is followed by a single-track road which links the A82 road alongside Loch Lomond with the A814 road beside Loch Long. The glen is overlooked to the north by Beinn Bhreac (681 m or 2,234 ft) and Tullich Hill (632 m or 2,073 ft) and to the south by Doune Hill (734 m or 2,408 ft) and a 655 m (2,149 ft) hill known as Coire na h-Eanachan.At the upper (western) end of the glen is the DM Glen Douglas military munitions depot which is connected to the railway line from Helensburgh to Crianlarich at the site of the old station. Glen Douglas has 3 farms two of which are still in use and both are named after hills in the Glen - Doune farm and Tullich Farm.

Beinn a' Mhanaich (709 m) is a hill in the southern Grampian Mountains of Scotland. It is located in Argyll and Bute, in the southern Luss Hills north of the town of Helensburgh. The most westerly of the Luss Hills, its finest feature is its long southern ridge. An army firing range is located on the western side of the hill going down to Loch Long, and one is advised to pay attention to signs while traversing the ridge.

Beinn Chaorach (713 m) is a hill in the southern foothills of the Grampian Mountains of Scotland. It lies in the Luss Hills of Argyll and Bute, between Loch Lomond and Loch Long. The most southerly of the Luss Hills, this grassy peak is often climbed in conjunction with its neighbour Beinn a' Mhanaich, although Ministry of Defence land lies to the west of the summit, so this side should be avoided.

National grid reference NS27609150 Auchengaich Reservoir was created in 1942 through the construction of an earthfill dam built by the military to supply water to Helensburgh and the Gareloch during World War II.

Beinn Bhreac (681 m) is a mountain in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It is part of the Luss Hills, a southern subrange of the Grampian Mountains. Rising from the western shore of Loch Lomond near the village of Tarbet, it takes the form of a rough ridge.

Edentaggart is a settlement of a few houses in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It is located near the town of Alexandria. The area is made up of Sheep farms and rolling hills.

Glenmallan is a settlement in Argyll and Bute, Scotland, on the shore of Loch Long. It has a population of under 1000, and its coordinates are latitude 56° 07' 34" N, longitude 4° 48' 54" W.

The Battle of Glen Fruin was a Scottish clan battle fought on 7 February 1603 between the Clan Gregor and its allies on one side, and the Clan Colquhoun and its allies on the other. The Clan Gregor (or MacGregor) and Clan Colquhoun were at feud due to the MacGregors carrying out raids on the Colquhoun's lands. The Colquhouns gained royal support and raised an army against the MacGregors. However, during the subsequent battle of Glen Fruin, the Colquhouns were comprehensively defeated. Glen Fruin is in the Loch Lomond area, in the county of Dunbartonshire, Scotland. In the aftermath of the battle royal policy punished the MacGregors for 150 years.

Finnart Oil Terminal, also known as Finnart Ocean Terminal or Chap Point, is an oil depot on the eastern shore of Loch Long, Firth of Clyde on the west coast of Scotland, about 2 miles (3.2 km) to the north of Garelochhead on the A814 road to Arrochar. It has piers extending a short distance into the loch, providing a deep water berth for oil tankers up to 324,000 tonnes. Two pipelines connect the terminal across the width of Scotland to the Grangemouth Refinery on the Firth of Forth on the east coast, and extensive oil storage tanks have been built into the hillside on both sides of the main road.

Glen Fruin (Scottish Gaelic: Gleann Freòin) is a glen in Scotland, adjacent to Loch Lomond. It contains the Fruin Water which flows into the loch, and a road, now the A817 road, known as the Glen Fruin Haul Road, which goes from the A82 up the glen and over the top of the hills to HMNB Clyde at Garelochhead. The road from Glen Fruin to Loch Long was known as Scottish Gaelic: Rathad Mòr nan Gàidheal, (in English "The High Road of the Gaels/Highlanders").
