2019 Women's British Open

The 2016 Ricoh Women's British Open was played 28–31 July in England at the Woburn Golf and Country Club near Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, northwest of London. It was the 40th Women's British Open, and the 16th as a major championship on the LPGA Tour. It was the tenth Women's British Open at Woburn; the most recent was in 1999, prior to it becoming a major on the LPGA Tour. For the first time, it was held on the Marquess' Course, which opened in 2000. Ariya Jutanugarn won her first major title, three strokes ahead of runners-up Mirim Lee and| Mo Martin, the 2014 champion.Golf Channel and NBC televised the event in the United States for the first time, while BBC Sport handled the coverage in the UK, for the last time.

Woburn Golf Club is a golf club in England located in Little Brickhill, near Milton Keynes within the county of Bedfordshire, about fifty miles (80 km) northwest of central London. There are three courses at the Woburn property: the "Duke's Course", which opened in 1976; the "Duchess Course", both designed by Charles Lawrie, which followed in 1978; and the "Marquess Course", designed by Peter Alliss and Clive Clark, European Golf Design (Ross McMurray), and Alex Hay, which dates from 2000. Wavendon Heath Ponds is a 4.7-hectare (12-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Aspley Heath in Bedfordshire. It was notified in 1986 under Section 28 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, and the local planning authority is Central Bedfordshire Council.The site is acidic mire. It has three ponds which have unusual plant communities, two unimproved meadows, some damp birch woodland and a small stream.The site is at the southern end of Aspley Woods (also known as New Wavendon Heath), and there is access from Church Road and by footpaths through the woods from Aspley Heath.

Bow Brickhill is a village and civil parish in the unitary authority area of the City of Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, England. It is bounded to the north, west and east by the Milton Keynes urban area, approximately 2 miles (3.2 km) east of Fenny Stratford, 1.5 miles (2.4 km) west of Woburn Sands and 4 miles (6.4 km) south-east of Central Milton Keynes.The village name is a combination of Brythonic and Old English words for 'hill' (Brythonic: breg, Anglo Saxon hyll). The prefix 'Bow' comes from an Anglo Saxon personal name, Bolla. The various names of the village given in historic records were Brichelle (11th century); Brichull (12th century); Bolle Brichulle, Bellebrikhulle (13th century), and Bolbryghyll (15th century, 1418).

Aspley Heath is a village and civil parish in the Central Bedfordshire district of Bedfordshire, England, elevated and small in population and area, mostly covered by New Wavendon Heath and a smaller mixed eponymous woodland. It was until some time after 1912 part of Aspley Guise. The Office for National Statistics records the village as part of the Woburn Sands urban subdivision of the Milton Keynes urban area. In addition to the village of Aspley Heath itself, the civil parish also includes part of the town of Woburn Sands, the rest of which is in the City of Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire. The village borders Aspley Guise to the northeast, Woburn to the south, and the CP of Woburn Sands, to the north and northwest, which is in the City of Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire.

Woburn Sands () is a town that straddles the border between Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire in England, and also is part of the Milton Keynes urban area. The larger part of the town is in Woburn Sands civil parish, which is in the City of Milton Keynes, Smaller parts of the town are in the neighbouring parishes of Aspley Guise and Aspley Heath (in Central Bedfordshire). The meandering boundary between Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire means the Lower and Middle Schools that serve all of the town are both in Aspley Guise CP. Bedfordshire Police and Thames Valley Police both deal with law enforcement issues in the town. At the 2011 Census, the population of the civil parish (only) was 2,916, that of the built-up area (including much of Aspley Guise) was 5,959. Woburn Sands, Aspley Guise and Aspley Heath each has its own centre but together the three settlements are a contiguous built-up area.
