Centennial High School is a four-year public secondary school in Boise, Idaho. Although located in Boise, it is part of the West Ada School District; at the time of its construction, CHS was in unincorporated Ada County. The West Ada district's second of five traditional high schools, Centennial opened in 1987 and serves neighborhoods in northwestern Boise and northeastern Meridian. The centennial of Idaho statehood was observed in 1990. The school colors of Centennial are maroon and silver, and its mascot is a patriot.

The Boise City Police Department (BPD) is located in Boise, Idaho's capital. BPD employs just over 400 people, with 325 allocated positions for sworn officers and 82 civilians.

The Pierce–Borah House is a historic building in Garden City, Idaho. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the house was among the earliest designed by prominent Idaho architect John E. Tourtellotte. It was completed in 1897 and originally located at 11th and Franklin Streets, in nearby Boise.The house was commissioned by Boise entrepreneur Walter E. Pierce but was sold in 1898 to William Borah, later a prominent United States Senator. Pierce had sold another of his houses to Borah in 1893. In 1959, the house was purchased by Vernon K. Smith and moved from its original location to the present site, in a rural area west of downtown Garden City.Although the house was described as being in "excellent condition" in a 1982 report, it appears to have since fallen into disrepair.

The Idaho High School Activities Association (IHSAA) oversees high school athletics and activities in the state of Idaho. Idaho high schools are classified in five categories, based on enrollment, for league competition and state playoffs and championships. The IHSAA recognizes 18 specific sports.Schools primarily compete within their own classification for regular season play, but are allowed to play other schools one classification above or below them in most sports.

Capital High School is a three-year public secondary school in Boise, Idaho, United States. Opened in the fall of 1965, it was the third of four public high schools constructed in the Boise School District, and serves its northern portion. The other high schools are Boise (1902) in the east, Borah (1958) in the southwest, and Timberline (1998) in the southeast.

Memorial Stadium is an outdoor baseball park in the western United States, located in Boise, Idaho. The home of the Boise Hawks of the independent Pioneer League, it has a current seating capacity of 3,452 on land owned by Ada County, adjacent to the Western Idaho Fairgrounds on the banks of the Boise River. The stadium opened 33 years ago in 1989, with several significant improvements over time. It was privately built by an investor group led by Bill Pereira and General Manager, Fred Kuenzi. The natural grass playing field at Memorial Stadium is aligned northeast, at an approximate elevation of 2,600 feet (790 m) above sea level.

Cole School and Gymnasium in Boise, Idaho, was a 2-story, stucco over brick school building with stone trim. The year of construction was likely 1903, although in an annual report issued by the Boise School District 1972–73, the year was given as 1908. Above the main entry of a 1951 addition to the building was written, "Cole Elementary Est. 1888." The buildings were added to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1982.

Boise Towne Square is a mall in the western United States, located in Boise, Idaho. The largest retail complex in the state, it opened in 1988 after more than 20 years of planning, and features 150 stores, with Macy's (formerly The Bon Marché), JCPenney, Kohl's and Dillard's (added in 1998) as anchor stores. The mall also includes the first Apple Store in Idaho. Boise Towne Square is owned by the Chicago-based Brookfield Properties Retail Group and is located near the junction of Interstate 84 and Interstate 184. Brookfield Properties Retail Group also operates an adjacent strip mall, Boise Towne Plaza, which is anchored by Nordstrom Rack and Old Navy. In addition, the mall comprises nine freestanding businesses on its property, including major retailers PetSmart and Pier 1 Imports.

Meridian Technical Charter High School (MTCHS) is a high school located in Meridian, Idaho, United States. The student population is 170–200 students, with a maximum of seventy students per grade. The school shares a campus with Meridian Medical Arts Charter High School (MMACHS). The two schools do not share classes; lunch is provided within the MMACHS cafeteria, and busing is provided at MTCHS. The school was originally known as Meridian Charter High School. The name was changed to avoid confusion with nearby Meridian Medical Arts Charter High School.

Meridian Medical Arts Charter High School is a chartered high school in Meridian, Idaho focused on integrating a health science curriculum inside and outside the classroom. They are the first High School in Idaho to offer a associates degree in the medical field. They are a small school with a max of 75 students in the freshmen class

The Western Idaho Fair is the one of the annual state fairs of Idaho. It has been held in the capital city of Boise virtually every late summer/early fall since 1897, and annually in the city of Garden City on the grounds of the Expo Idaho since 1967. It is usually held from the third Friday of August, until the fourth Sunday of August. The corresponding Eastern Idaho Fair is held in Bingham County at Blackfoot.
