Capital High School (Boise, Idaho)

The Idaho High School Activities Association (IHSAA) oversees high school athletics and activities in the state of Idaho. Idaho high schools are classified in five categories, based on enrollment, for league competition and state playoffs and championships. The IHSAA recognizes 18 specific sports.Schools primarily compete within their own classification for regular season play, but are allowed to play other schools one classification above or below them in most sports.

The Western Idaho Fair is the one of the annual state fairs of Idaho. It has been held in the capital city of Boise virtually every late summer/early fall since 1897, and annually in the city of Garden City on the grounds of the Expo Idaho since 1967. It is usually held from the third Friday of August, until the fourth Sunday of August. The corresponding Eastern Idaho Fair is held in Bingham County at Blackfoot.

Memorial Stadium is an outdoor baseball park in the western United States, located in Boise, Idaho. The home of the Boise Hawks of the independent Pioneer League, it has a current seating capacity of 3,452 on land owned by Ada County, adjacent to the Western Idaho Fairgrounds on the banks of the Boise River. The stadium opened 33 years ago in 1989, with several significant improvements over time. It was privately built by an investor group led by Bill Pereira and General Manager, Fred Kuenzi. The natural grass playing field at Memorial Stadium is aligned northeast, at an approximate elevation of 2,600 feet (790 m) above sea level.

Garden City is a city in Ada County, Idaho. The population was 10,972 at the time of the 2010 census. Garden City is nearly surrounded by Boise but retains a separate municipal government. Garden City was named for gardens raised by Chinese immigrants who lived in the area. The name of the city's only main street, Chinden Boulevard, is a portmanteau of the words "China" and "garden." In the second decade of the 21st century, it became a haven for artists' studios.Garden City is part of the Boise metropolitan area.

Boise Bible College (BBC) is a private Christian Bible college in Boise, Idaho.

The Pierce–Borah House is a historic building in Garden City, Idaho. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the house was among the earliest designed by prominent Idaho architect John E. Tourtellotte. It was completed in 1897 and originally located at 11th and Franklin Streets, in nearby Boise.The house was commissioned by Boise entrepreneur Walter E. Pierce but was sold in 1898 to William Borah, later a prominent United States Senator. Pierce had sold another of his houses to Borah in 1893. In 1959, the house was purchased by Vernon K. Smith and moved from its original location to the present site, in a rural area west of downtown Garden City.Although the house was described as being in "excellent condition" in a 1982 report, it appears to have since fallen into disrepair.

Pierce Park School in Boise, Idaho, is a 1+1⁄2-story, flat roof, brick and stucco building constructed in 1911 as a 4-room schoolhouse. The building has expanded with its growing community, but the additions have been considered compatible with the original structure, and the school was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.The school was named for Pierce Park, a trolley park developed by Walter E. Pierce in 1907, four miles from Boise and along the route of the Boise & Interurban Railway. The park closed in 1928.

Cole School and Gymnasium in Boise, Idaho, was a 2-story, stucco over brick school building with stone trim. The year of construction was likely 1903, although in an annual report issued by the Boise School District 1972–73, the year was given as 1908. Above the main entry of a 1951 addition to the building was written, "Cole Elementary Est. 1888." The buildings were added to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1982.

The Pedro Echevarria House at 5605 W. State Street in Garden City, Idaho, is a brick and wood frame Bungalow designed by Tourtellotte and Hummel and constructed in 1920 for Pedro and Maria Echevarria. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.In 2018 a developer proposed building 19 small houses on the site, preserving the Pedro Echevarria House as the community center of a cohousing neighborhood, but the City rejected the proposal as "incompatible with the city's comprehensive plan."

Boise Towne Square is a mall in the western United States, located in Boise, Idaho. The largest retail complex in the state, it opened in 1988 after more than 20 years of planning, and features 150 stores, with Macy's (formerly The Bon Marché), JCPenney, Kohl's and Dillard's (added in 1998) as anchor stores. The mall also includes the first Apple Store in Idaho. Boise Towne Square is owned by the Chicago-based Brookfield Properties Retail Group and is located near the junction of Interstate 84 and Interstate 184. Brookfield Properties Retail Group also operates an adjacent strip mall, Boise Towne Plaza, which is anchored by Nordstrom Rack and Old Navy. In addition, the mall comprises nine freestanding businesses on its property, including major retailers PetSmart and Pier 1 Imports.

Treasure Valley Mathematics and Science Center, often referred to as Treasure Valley Math and Science Center or TVMSC, is a public magnet school in Boise, Idaho operated by the Boise School District that offers advanced secondary mathematics, science, technology, and research classes to students living in the Treasure Valley. After being accepted into the program, students attend TVMSC in its morning or afternoon sessions while they attend their normal public or non-public elementary, junior high, high schools, or are home-schooled, during the other part of the day. Since the school's founding in 2004, the program has been led by Dr. Holly Maclean, who, as the school principal, carefully leads the school's twelve teachers who have extensive experience in the subjects they teach.Although the classes TVMSC offers are usually taught as advanced courses in grades seven through twelve, students at any age can apply for the school, as the program accepts students based on teacher recommendations that determine a student's desire to excel in math and science, report cards to determine academic capability, standardized test scores to determine knowledge, and fulfillment of prerequisite math classes, which can be taken as summer classes before entering the program. TVMSC was founded in 2004 with a donation of $1,000,000 from Micron Technology, whose headquarters are in Boise, as well as $300,000 worth of equipment from Hewlett-Packard, which has a large campus in Boise as well. Since cuts in funding caused by the 2008–2012 global recession have inhibited the original plans for its own permanent location on the Boise State Campus, TVMSC continues to hold its classes in the upper floor of the south wing at Riverglen Junior High School.TVMSC has two very successful teams that compete in the National Science Bowl and the National Middle School Science Bowl. The middle school team placed 4th in the academic competition and 2nd in the electric car competition in 2014, 2013, and 2012, as well as placing 1st in the 2008 fuel cell car overall and 2nd fuel cell car race. As of the 2018-19 school year, the TVMSC mascot is the Sloth, selected by a student vote. The following year, the students voted to name the mascot Slothy Joe.

The Aquarium of Boise is a 501 c(3) non-profit aquarium in Boise, Idaho, United States. It opened to the public in 2011.
