Wightmans Grove is a census-designated place in Sandusky County, in the U.S. state of Ohio. Its population was 55 as of the 2020 census.

Junundat, alternatively known as Junandot, Ayonontout, and Sunyendeand, was a Wyandot Indian village located at the mouth of the Sandusky River, near modern-day Wightmans Grove, Ohio. Junundat was founded in 1739 by a tribe of Wyandots moving south from the vicinity of Detroit under the leadership of Nicholas Orontony, after migrating to escape the aggressive Ottawa tribe. The village was a hub for trade in the region, until it was abandoned in 1747 following French aggression.

Fremont Ross High School (FRHS) is a public high school in Fremont, Ohio, United States. It is the only high school in the Fremont City School District, and one of two high schools in Fremont, the other being Saint Joseph Central Catholic High School. The school enrolls 1,265 students as the 2019-2020 School year. Fremont Ross is named for W.W. Ross (1834–1906), who served as the first superintendent of Fremont City Schools for 42 years from 1864 until his death in 1906 at the age of 71. A new high school was built and was finished by the start of the 2021-2022 School Year. The boys' sports teams are called the "Little Giants", while girls' teams are the "Lady Giants". The school's colors are purple and white. The football team has a rivalry with Sandusky High School that dates back to 1895, making it the biggest rivalry in Northwest Ohio. The school is a member of the Northern Lakes League as of the 2023-24 school year.The school was previously a member of the Three Rivers Athletic Conference from 2011-12 to 2022-23.

Fremont Speedway, also known as "The Track That Action Built" and "Home of the All Stars", is a semi-banked 1/3 mile clay oval speedway located at the Sandusky County Fairgrounds in Fremont, Ohio, United States. Races are typically held on Saturday nights. Regular events include 410 cubic inch sprint cars, 305 cubic inch sprint cars, and dirt trucks. In 2024, the World of Outlaws sprint car series returns to the speedway for the first time since 2016. The speedway has previously hosted the All Star Circuit of Champions, National Sprint Tour, and United States Auto Club.

Fremont is a city in and the county seat of Sandusky County, Ohio, United States, along the Sandusky River. It is about 35 miles (56 km) southeast of Toledo and 25 miles (40 km) west of Sandusky. The population was 15,930 at the 2020 census. The city was the home of Rutherford B. Hayes, who served as President of the United States from 1877 to 1881. The Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center was the first presidential library and is one of the focal points of the city. The National Arbor Day Foundation has designated Fremont as a Tree City USA since 1986.

Oak Harbor is a village in Ottawa County, Ohio, United States. Oak Harbor is 30 miles east of Downtown Toledo. The population was 2,821 at the 2020 census. It lies a short distance southwest of the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station, one of two nuclear power plants in Ohio.

Sandusky County is a county located in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Ohio. As of the 2020 census, the population was 58,896. Its county seat and largest city is Fremont. The county was formed on February 12, 1820, from portions of Huron County. The name is derived from the Wyandot word meaning "water" (Wyandot: saandustee). The Sandusky River runs diagonally northeast through the county to its mouth on Sandusky Bay, opening into Lake Erie. Sandusky County compromises the Fremont, OH Micropolitan Statistical Area.

Oak Harbor High School is a public high school located in Oak Harbor, Ohio, United States. It is the only high school in the Benton-Carroll-Salem Schools district. Their athletic teams are known as the Rockets, and their school colors are red and green. The student graduation rate in 2005-06 was 92.4 percent, down from 96.8 percent in 2004–05. In the 2006–2007 school year, the high school received an excellent rating from the Ohio Department of Education.
