It is served by two lines: the E Line to Union Station and the R Line to Aurora. However, the R Line currently terminates at Lincoln station due to low ridership in this area of Lone Tree which is still under construction and amid generally lower ridership due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on public transport. This station was built as part of the 2.3-mile (3.7 km) Southeast Rail Extension to RidgeGate, which began in 2016 and cost $223 million. It opened on May 17, 2019.The station sits in greenfield land that is planned to host a transit-oriented development that is connected between the three stations. The 400-acre (160 ha) Lone Tree City Center, for which the station is named, is planned to include 10,000 homes, office space, and parks. The development project was approved in 2018 and is planned to take decades to finish.

It is the terminus of two lines: the E Line to Union Station and the R Line to Aurora. The station consists of two side platforms located adjacent to the interchange of Interstate 25 and RidgeGate Parkway. It also has a 1,300-stall parking garage and bicycle facilities. This station was built as part of the 2.3-mile (3.7 km) Southeast Rail Extension to RidgeGate, which began in 2016 and cost $223 million. It opened on May 17, 2019.The RidgeGate area was annexed into Lone Tree in 2000 and is planned to anchor a major office and residential development, comprising much of Lone Tree's planned city center.

It is served by the E and R Lines, operated by the Regional Transportation District (RTD), and was opened on November 17, 2006. The station features a public art installation entitled Sun Stream, created by Ray King and dedicated in 2006.Lincoln station became the terminus of the R Line upon its opening on February 24, 2017. The station served as the terminus of the Southeast Corridor until the completion of the Southeast Light Rail Extension project, which added three stations in Lone Tree that opened on May 17, 2019.The R Line currently terminates at Lincoln station due to low ridership at Sky Ridge, Lone Tree City Center, and RidgeGate Parkway, as the area is still under construction and amid generally lower ridership due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on public transport.

University of Colorado South Denver, also known as CU South Denver, was a public university located in Lone Tree, Colorado, about 10 miles (16 km) south of Denver. Opened in 2014 as an extension of the University of Colorado, it is located on the property of The Wildlife Experience, which is now incorporated as part of the University. Classes are offered for degree-seeking and continuing education students and include courses in nursing, engineering, education and business. In September 2020, due to shifting market conditions and the COVID-19 pandemic, it was announced that CU South Denver would cease taking new students and fully close in 2021 with the property to be sold.
