Glenmore Distillery Company was a large distillery company based in Owensboro, Kentucky best known as a producer of bourbon whiskey. In 2009, the company was acquired by the Sazerac Company, and is still operated under the name "The Glenmore Distillery".

The Felix Grimes House, at 1301 Leitchfield Rd. in Owensboro, Kentucky, was perhaps built around 1867–76. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.According to family tradition, when working for a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania firm Felix Grimes identified potential for coal mining and limestone quarrying around what became Hawesville in Hancock County and around what became Cannelton in Perry County, Indiana, and led 40 coal miners into Kentucky by barge down the Ohio River to those areas. Also by family tradition, Felix Grimes and his cousin Patrick Grimes led the construction of the Indiana Cotton Mill factory on the north bank of the Ohio River in Cannelton, and they also led the construction of the Roman Catholic church on the hill overlooking the factory, both built of local stone. The house has been moved or demolished.

The St. Joseph Catholic Church in Owensboro, Kentucky, United States was a historic church at 4th and Clay Streets which was built in 1878 and demolished in 1989. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.It was deemed "significant as the best example of the Gothic Revival style of architecture in Owensboro and as the focal institution in the history of the German Roman Catholic community of Owensboro and Daviess County."In 1948, the parish of St. Joseph was combined with the nearby Irish-American parish of St. Paul to form Sts. Joseph and Paul parish by Bishop Francis Cotton. St. Paul church was larger and newer so it was used as the main church. Regular services at St. Joseph ended in 1978. The church was only used for mass on special occasions until 1984 when a fire damaged the St. Paul church. St. Joseph was then used for regular mass until St. Paul's rededication in 1986.The sixteen stained-glass windows of the church were gifted by the Diocese of Owensboro to the Owensboro Museum of Fine Arts in 1989 before the church was razed. The windows were created and painted by Emil Frei in the guild tradition and installed in the church between 1900 and 1910. The twelve largest windows are sixteen feet tall by four feet wide. The Frei family helped to restore the windows after the move.It was a front-gable brick structure with a bell tower and eight-sided spire. It was 43 by 86 feet (13 m × 26 m) in plan.Photographs of the church can be found here: six photos from 1977.

The Yewell House, at 630 Clay St. in Owensboro, Kentucky, was built in 1894. It is Queen Anne in style. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.It was deemed significant in 1986 "as an outstanding example of the Queen Anne style of architecture. It was built in 1894 by wealthy tobacco farmer Franklin Yewell who moved to Daviess County from Nelson County. Yewell constructed this house when he was 70 years old and lived in it only a few more years after its completion. His widow lived there until 1928 and at her death it went to their son Dr. A. S. Yewell, a prominent physician, who lived there another thirty years. It remained in the Yewell family for a total of 72 years and is now owned by an architect who uses it for a multi-family residence."It is a two-story, brick house with "the unusual feature of front, side and rear gables. A rusticated stone effect is used for the front wall and the foundation of the front porch. The projecting front gable has a one-story bay window with rectangular windows. A bracketed cornice runs along the roofline of the bay and a section of the original metal cresting rises above this. Balancing the bay window is a one-story wood porch with simple columns and spindles. This porch provides access to the main entrance to the residence. This porch is also topped by metal cresting. An interesting wall texture is created by brick corbelling that runs across the front, side and rear of the house creating a double-arched window on the second floor. Brick patterning outlines the peaks of each of the gables. There are also small-arched windows in the peak of each gable. The hipped roof is covered by a standing seam metal roof."

The First Baptist Church in Owensboro, Kentucky, established in 1835 (1835), is one of the oldest churches in the city. It has five pastoral staff members. It has programs for an age range of a few weeks old to 100 year olds. One activity includes the Family Pavilion during Owensboro's Barbeque Festival. It is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention.

Temple Adath Israel (transliterated from Hebrew as "Congregation of Israel": 138 ) is a Reform Jewish congregation and synagogue, located at 429 Daviess Street, in Owensboro, Kentucky, in the United States. The congregation was formed in 1858.: 152 Built in 1877,: 138  the Moorish Revival façade of the modest building features a Gothic Revival-arched door flanked by a pair of Gothic-arched windows punctuated by four pilasters. These are surmounted with molded capitals and fanciful embellishments and the whole is topped by a whimsical row of four, small, onion domed turrets.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in March 1986. It is among the oldest synagogue buildings in the United States.

The Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum is a bluegrass music museum in Owensboro, Kentucky, United States. The museum has interactive exhibits, posters, costumes, live instrument demonstrations, and International Bluegrass Music Association's Hall of Fame. The museum has 64,000 square feet of exhibits, offices, and venues on three floors. As a non-profit group, the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum has raised funds with the help of famous bluegrass musicians such as Ricky Skaggs and Ralph Stanley.They host their own annual summer music festival, ROMP. ROMP festival is typically held the last weekend in June each summer. Jam sessions are held at the museum every Saturday and Sunday from 1:30 to 4:30 pm. The Bluegrass Music Museum & Hall of Fame is the world's only facility dedicated to the history and preservation of the international history of bluegrass music.

The Owensboro Bridge, also called the Blue Bridge, is a continuous truss bridge that spans the Ohio River between Owensboro, Kentucky and Spencer County, Indiana. Dedicated to the memory of the late U.S. Congressman Glover H. Cary (1885–1936) and often called the "Glover Cary Bridge," the bridge opened to traffic in September 1940. It originally was a toll bridge, but tolls were discontinued in 1954. It carried US 231 into Kentucky from Indiana from 1940 to 2002 when 231 was moved onto the newly completed Natcher Bridge. Subsequently, its designation was changed to Indiana 161 and Kentucky 2262.

Miller Field was a baseball stadium in Owensboro, Kentucky. Miller Field's final tenant was the Owensboro Oilers of the Kentucky–Illinois–Tennessee League (also called the KITty League), playing there from 1937 to 1955. Miller Field was considered the finest ballpark in the KITty League.Miller Field was situated at Triplett Avenue and East 18th Street in Owensboro. Home plate was oriented to the northeast. Its dimensions were 320 feet (left field), 365 feet (center field) and 320 feet (right field).Miller Field was demolished on September 19, 1955, after the dissolution of the KITTY League. James C. Ellis, who bought the property, stated that the parcel of land was too valuable to be a baseball park.

Haphazard is a historic house located on Pleasant Valley Road in Owensboro, Kentucky. The house overlooks the Ohio River, and its name is probably derived from the river's eddies. The property which Haphazard was built on was originally owned by George Mason, a signatory to the U.S. Constitution, who was given the land in a grant surveyed in 1787. Mason's grandson Richard sold the property to Robert Triplett in 1822, by which point the log house forming the central portion of the home had been built. Triplett likely added the house's side wings, northern gable, and Federal style interior. Triplett accomplished many local firsts, as he was Owensboro's first large real estate dealer; Daviess County's first soil conservationist, barge operator, and author; the first distiller on the Ohio River in the county; and the builder of Kentucky's first railroad. In 1843, A. B. Barret purchased the house from Triplett; Barret then sold the house to William Bell the following year. Bell, the president of a local bank, likely added the house's Greek Revival portico.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 22, 1975.

The Odd Fellows Building in Owensboro, Kentucky, also denoted DAOB 86, is a three-story building that was built in 1895. It served historically as a professional building, as a clubhouse, and as a specialty store. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is one of the most complex buildings, architecturally, in downtown Owensboro, and includes eclectic Beaux Arts and Italian Renaissance Revival details. The Odd Fellows chapter had membership of 125 men in 1895 when this building, with third floor lodge space for the chapter, was built. The rest of the building has always been commercial, with the first floor as retail space and the second floor as office space.It was listed onto the National Register in 1986 along with multiple other historic resources in Owensboro, as result of a multiple resources study.

Rosehill Elmwood Cemetery is located at 1300 Old Hartford Road in Owensboro, Daviess County, Kentucky. There are about 55,000 interments at the cemetery, which is officially recognized as a historical landmark by the state of Kentucky. Notable people buried in the cemetery include a number of US Congressmen, as well as Rainey Bethea, the last person to be publicly executed in the United States.
