Leopoldsburg (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈleːjoːpɔltsˌbʏr(ə)x]; French: Bourg-Léopold, French pronunciation: [buʁ leɔpɔl]; Limburgish: Leopolsbörch) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Limburg. On January 1, 2006, Leopoldsburg had a total population of 14,403. The total area is 22.49 km² (8.68 sq mi) which gives a population density of 640 inhabitants per km² (1,658.7/sq mi). It is situated near the important military base at Beverloo Camp. The municipality consists of the following sub-municipalities: Leopoldsburg proper and Heppen.

Leopoldsburg/Beverlo Airfield (ICAO: EBLE) was originally a military airfield on the grounds of a big military base. It had long permitted civilian use, hosting an aeroclub and several private aircraft owners. The military no longer having any use for it, it was turned over to civilian usage in 2017. It is located near Leopoldsburg, Limburg, Belgium. It is sometimes known by the name of its operator, the aeroclub Sanicole. It yearly hosts a reputed airshow, and also a European meeting/fly-in of builders/owners of experimental and/or historic aeroplanes.

The Beringen coal preparation plant is a part of the former Beringen coal mine, which is located in Beringen in the Belgian province of Limburg. Since 1994, the building has been selected and protected as mining heritage by the Flemish government, and is planned to be reused as part of the Flemish Mining Museum. The mining site of Beringen was one of the Belgian anchor points of the ERIH (European Route of Industrial Heritage). A coal preparation plant (Dutch: Kolenwasserij, French: Triage-Lavoir) separates the usable coal from the waste rock. This coal preparation plant is one of the biggest and last vast examples of the Belgian coal industry.

Mijnstadion is a multi-use stadium in Beringen, Belgium. It has been used mostly for football matches as the home ground of K. Beringen-Heusden-Zolder, until the club reached the first division in 2003–04. At this time the club moved to the Fenix Stadion of rival club K.R.C. Genk. After one season at the top level of Belgian football, the club was relegated to the second division and moved back to Mijnstadion. In April 2006 Beringen-Heusden-Zolder went into liquidation. Since then, the stadium is no longer used by any professional football club and is used by young teams of the area. The stadium holds 9,416 people.

Balen-Keiheuvel Aerodrome (ICAO: EBKH) is a private general aviation airfield located in Keiheuvel-Balen, a municipality of Belgium. Aircraft on the airport include both motorized aircraft and gliders.

Heusden-Zolder (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌɦøːzdə(n) ˈzɔldər]; Limburgish: Heuze-Zolder [ˌɦøːzəˈzɔldəʀ]) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Limburg near Hasselt. On 1 January 2006 Heusden-Zolder had a total population of 30,769. The total area is 53.23 km² which gives a population density of 578 inhabitants per km². Heusden-Zolder was the result of the merger on 1 January 1977 of the two former municipalities of Heusden and Zolder, and currently consists of the former Heusden parishes of Heusden centre, Berkenbos and Eversel, and the former Zolder parishes of Zolder centre, Boekt, Viversel, Bolderberg and Lindeman. Heusden-Zolder is home to almost 2,000 immigrants from all over the world. This is due to the (now closed) coal mine of Zolder. During the 1960s Belgian coal mines faced an enormous shortage of employees. To address this problem, foreigner labourers were encouraged to immigrate and work near the mines. After their closure (the mine in Zolder was the last one in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxemburg to close in 1992) most of the immigrants chose to stay, which makes Heusden-Zolder a relatively multicultural place.

Lommel German war cemetery is located at Kattenbos in the municipality of Lommel, Belgium. It is the largest German military cemetery in Western Europe outside Germany itself. German soldiers who died during the World War II on the territory of Belgium rest here. In addition, there is a smaller number of soldiers buried who died during the First World War.

The Beringen municipality includes the town of Beringen proper and the old communes of Beverlo, Koersel, and Paal.

The St. Peter in Chains Church (in Dutch: Sint-Pietersbandenkerk) is a church in Neo-Gothic style with a rich Baroque interior located at the Market Square in Beringen, Belgium. It is the parish church of Beringen centre and the decanal church of the deanery of Beringen. The chancel, nave and transept are protected since 1949 and the neo-Gothic parts since 1993.

The Albert Canal (Dutch: Albertkanaal, pronounced [ˈɑl.bərt.kaːˌnaːl]; French: Canal Albert, pronounced [kanal albɛʁ]) is a canal located in northeastern Belgium, which was named for King Albert I of Belgium. The Albert Canal connects Antwerp with Liège, and also the Meuse river with the Scheldt river. It also connects with the Dessel–Turnhout–Schoten Canal, and its total length is 129.5 kilometres (80.5 mi).

Scheps is a natural landscape in the municipality of Balen, Antwerp Province, Belgium. Located on the valley of the Grote Nete, between Olmen and Scheps, in this territory can be found several plants such as the marsh cinquefoil and the calla, and birds like the common kingfisher, the European stonechat and the bluethroat.
