Acharnes

Acharnae or Acharnai (; Ancient Greek: Ἀχαρναί) was a deme of ancient Athens. It was part of the phyle Oineis.Acharnae, according to Thucydides, was the largest deme in Attica. In the fourth century BCE, 22 of the 500 members of the Athenian council came from Acharnae, more than from any other deme.

Acharnes railway station (Greek: Σιδηροδρομικός σταθμός Αχαρνών, romanized: Sidirodromikós stathmós Acharnón) is a station on the Piraeus–Platy railway line in the northern part of the Athens urban area, in the municipality of Acharnes, Greece. It was inaugurated on 8 March 1904. It is owned by OSE, however, services are provided by Hellenic Train through the Athens Suburban Railway from Athens to Chalcis. Acharnes station was originally known as Menidi, the vernacular name of Acharnes.

The Acharnes Railway Center (Greek: Σιδηροδρομικό Κέντρο Αχαρνών) or SKA is a two-level railway station in the northern parts of the Athens agglomeration, in the suburb of Acharnes, where several important railway lines converge. It is an important passenger interchange station linking The main Piraeus–Platy railway line from Athens Central to Thessaloniki and the Athens Airport–Patras railway. The station opened in April 2011.

Zefyri railway station (Greek: Σιδηροδρομικός σταθμός Ζεφυρίου, romanized: Sidirodromikos Stathmos Zefyriou) is a station on the Athens Airport-Patras railway line in Zefyri, a suburb in the north-central part of Athens, Greece. Located inside a tunnel on the islet of Attiki Odos, The station opened on 10 May 2018 and is served by the Athens Suburban Railway.

Zefyri (Greek: Ζεφύρι) is a suburb of Athens and former municipality in West Attica, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Fyli, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 1.400 km2.Zefyri is situated near the northeastern end of the Aigaleo mountains. Its built-up area is continuous with those of the neighbouring suburbs Ano Liosia, Acharnes and Kamatero. The Motorway 6 passes through Zefyri, by the 440 m cut and cover Zefyri Tunnel. Zefyri is 2 km southeast of Ano Liosia, 2 km southwest of Acharnes and about 10 km north of Athens city centre. The old metric Piraeus–Patras railway and the new Athens Airport–Patras railway pass through Zefyri. The earthquake of 7 September 1999 damaged some tens of homes.

Ano Liosia (Greek: Σιδηροδρομικός Σταθμός Άνω Λιοσίων, romanized: Sidirodromikós Stathmós Áno Liosíon) is a train station in Ano Liosia, a western suburb in the municipality of Fyli, West Attica, Attica, Greece. It is located in the median strip of the Attiki Odos motorway, and has a single island platform. The station is the western terminus of the Athens Suburban Railway to and from Athens Airport. It is also served by trains to and from Piraeus and Kiato. it sits a 700 meaters from Zefyri, or a 2 min train ride.

Cholargos (Ancient Greek: Χολαργός, romanized: Cholargós) was a deme of ancient Athens located west or north-west of Athens main city.

Eupyridae or Eupyridai (Ancient Greek: Εὐπυρίδαι) was a deme of ancient Attica.The site of Eupyridae is tentatively located near modern Kamatero.

Pallene (Ancient Greek: Παλλήνη) was a celebrated deme of ancient Athens, frequently mentioned by ancient writers and in inscriptions.

Sypalettus or Sypalettos (Ancient Greek: Συπαληττός) was a deme in ancient Attica of the phyle of Cecropis, sending two delegates to the Athenian Boule.Probably Sypalettus was a divided deme, even if this hypothesis is not confirmed by all scholars. The inscription that suggests the placement of the deme is a sacred calendar of 470-460 BCE; this document it is very important because it is the first Attican written text that prohibits changes to the law. Its site is located near Nea Ionia (formerly, Kukuvaones).

Kato Acharnes (Greek: Κάτω Αχαρνές) is a station on the Piraeus–Platy railway line in Agioi Anargyroi, West Athens. This station opened on 27 February 2014. It owes its name to the area of Kato Acharnes, and is located next to Merimna Square.

Kamatero (Greek: Καματερó [kamateˈro]; officially Καματερόν) is a town and a suburb in the central-western part of the Athens agglomeration, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Agioi Anargyroi-Kamatero, of which it is a municipal unit. It is located about 8 kilometres north of Athens city centre.
