Cathedral of the Rockies, also known as the Cathedral of the Rockies First United Methodist Church, is a United Methodist church located in the historic North End district of Boise, Idaho, United States. The church is the largest United Methodist Church in Boise, Idaho, the largest in the Oregon-Idaho Conference of the United Methodist denomination, and was the first Methodist church in Boise, founded in 1872.The present building was constructed 1958-1960 under the leadership of the Rev. Dr. Herbert E. Richards, and covers an entire city block. The stained glass is a notable and unique feature, depicting Biblical history as well as themes of the history of Christianity and aspects of American history including local references to Idaho and the city of Boise. The church is popular as a visitor destination, and attracts worshipers from all over America and the world. This is the third building to be used by the congregation. The original 1872 church was located at 8th and Bannock streets, site of the present Hoff Building (old Hotel Boise), near the Idaho State Capitol building. In about 1903–05, a new church was constructed at 10th and State streets (where the YMCA building is now located). The new Cathedral of the Rockies structure was consecrated in December 1960, with a series of impressive ceremonies. During the year 2010, a number of church events are being held to commemorate the opening of the new church. In 2002 the structure was extensively expanded under the leadership of the Rev. Dr. Steve Tollefson. The new Emmaus Center was designed for contemporary worship and other social events; and more classroom and office space was also added, considerably enhancing the facilities. In 1984, the cathedral served as the location for Senator Frank Church's funeral.In June 2020, the church announced that it would remove its stained-glass window featuring Confederate general Robert E. Lee. The image had been under discussion since 2015 and a decision was made following the murder of George Floyd.The ministries of the Cathedral of the Rockies are extensive, involving many services to the surrounding community. Educational ministries are available to children, youth, and adults. A full-time children's center and pre-school operates year-round. Many small groups are offered, and ministries are offered to the homeless and needy.

The J.N. Wallace House in Boise, Idaho, is a 2-story, shingled Colonial Revival house designed by Tourtellotte & Co. and constructed in 1903. The first floor features a veneer of random course sandstone, and shingles of various shapes decorate the wraparound porch and the second floor. Deep, pedimented gables with dormer and dimple windows characterize the roof. Outer walls on the porch and second floor are flared. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.Plans for the Wallace House were drawn in 1903, but the house may not have been completed until 1905. The Wallaces sold the house to C.H. Lingenfelter in 1908.

Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church is a Lutheran church located in Boise, Idaho. The church was individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 17, 1976. It was included as a contributing property in the Fort Street Historic District on November 12, 1982.The church was organized on January 22, 1906, as the Swedish Lutheran Church of the Augustana Synod. It was associated with the Augustana Evangelical Lutheran Church, a Lutheran church body founded by Swedish immigrants. The current church building was built in 1908 and was dedicated on September 22, 1915. Because the founders were Scandinavian, the church services were first held in the Swedish language. October 1, 1918, the church decided to change to the English language for church sermons, in an effort to appeal to Lutherans of other ethnic backgrounds. The last remaining tie to the founders' Swedish heritage was severed in 1919, when the church changed its name to Boise Evangelical Lutheran Church. In the 1950s the church was renamed again as Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. Immanuel Lutheran Church is part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

The Albert Beck House in Boise, Idaho, is a 1+1⁄2-story Queen Anne house designed by Tourtellotte & Co. and constructed in 1904. The house features sandstone veneer on its first floor walls and on a wrap around porch. Overhanging gables with dimpled dormer vents were prominent at the Fort Street and 11th Street exposures. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.The Beck House was constructed at 1101 Fort Street, lot 12 of block 75 of Boise's original townsite, near the site of the Cathedral of the Rockies, completed in 1960. In 1989 the First United Methodist Church, owners of the cathedral, purchased the Beck House and other historic properties in block 75 and planned to build a large parking lot. Three historic homes were demolished, but a neighborhood preservation effort managed to save some of the other properties. Eventually the Beck House was moved to the corner of 12th and Hays Streets. Since 2011 block 75 has been managed by Boise Downtown Teaching Farm.Albert Beck was a sheep rancher in Boise, and he and partner Obe Corder owned a mining interest at the site of the Sunbeam Mine.

The Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections (IDJC) is a state agency of Idaho that operates three juvenile correction centers and works closely with county probation departments to provide accountability, community protection, and rehabilitation to justice involved juveniles in Idaho. The three facilities are: Juvenile Corrections Center Lewiston (JCC-L), Juvenile Corrections Center Nampa (JCC-N), and Juvenile Corrections Center St. Anthony (JCC-SA). The agency has its headquarters in Boise.

The H.K. Fritchman House in Boise, Idaho, was a 1+1⁄2-story Colonial Revival cottage designed by Tourtellotte & Co. and constructed in 1904. The house featured an off center, pedimented porch with Doric columns, decorative window head moldings under side gables, and a prominent, pedimented front gable with dimple window centered below the lateral ridgebeam. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1982. The house either was demolished or moved after its listing on the NRHP, and further research is needed. Harry Fritchman was a commercial traveler or traveling salesman based in Boise. He lived briefly in Portland, Oregon, then returned to Boise in 1904, the year the H.K. Fritchman House was constructed. Fritchman served one year as mayor of Boise 1911–1912.A second H.K. Fritchman House was constructed at 1707 Harrison Boulevard in 1920, and it is a contributing resource in Boise's Harrison Boulevard Historic District. At the time of his death, Harry Fritchman was living two blocks from the second house, at 1606 N. 17th St.

The R.K. Davis House in Boise, Idaho, is a 2-story Queen Anne style house designed by Tourtellotte & Co. and constructed in 1906. The house features Classical Revival elements, including a pedimented portico with Tuscan columns. Architectural drawings for the house indicated a Bungalow design, but the plan changed during construction to a more formal design that incorporates Queen Anne, Classical Revival, and Colonial Revival details, possibly to blend the house with older homes on the street. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.Robert K. and Christine (Orchard) Davis occupied the house from its construction until some time prior to the death of Robert Davis in 1958. Davis and his brother, Samuel T. Davis, were pioneers in Idaho, having moved as children from Oregon to Idaho City with their father, Ben T. Davis, in 1864. Ben Davis was a nephew of Confederate president Jefferson Davis. The Davis brothers moved to Boise in 1901 and purchased an interest in the Idaho Hardware Co., later the Davis Supply Co.

Boise High School is a public secondary school in Boise, Idaho, one of five traditional high schools within the city limits, four of which are in the Boise School District. A three-year comprehensive high school, Boise High is located on the outlying edge of the city's downtown business core. The enrollment for the 2014–15 school year was approximately 1,481.

The J.M. Johnson House in Boise, Idaho, is a 1+1⁄2-story Queen Anne house designed by John E. Tourtellotte and constructed in 1898. The house includes a sandstone foundation and features a Tuscan column porch with a prominent, corner entry at 10th and Franklin Streets. A side gable with a shingled dimple window above a prominent beveled window bay are central to the Franklin Street exposure. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.J.M. Johnson was a wool buyer from Mountain Home. He moved to Boise in 1898, the year of construction of the J.M. Johnson House. Among his business activities, Johnson traded in real estate and engaged in ranching. In 1919 he sold the J.M. Johnson House after purchasing a 7000-acre cattle ranch in Alturas.

The Brunzell House in Boise, Idaho, is a one-and-a-half-story, brick and wood Bungalow designed by Tourtellotte & Co. and constructed in 1908. The house features Colonial Revival decorations, including deeply flared eaves. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. It also is a contributing resource in the Fort Street Historic District.

The Fort Street Historic District in Boise, Idaho, contains roughly 47 blocks located within the 1867 plat of Boise City. The irregular shape of the district is roughly bounded on the north by West Fort Street and on the south by West State Street. The west boundary is North 16th Street, and the east boundary is roughly North 5th Street. When the nomination form was prepared in 1982 for the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP), the district contained 318 buildings. The inventory consisted mostly of houses, but schools, churches, and commercial structures were included. Many structures were designed by Tourtellotte & Hummel, and some were designed by Wayland & Fennell. The district contains many sites with individual NRHP listing, and the Boise High School Campus and the St. John's Cathedral Block both are separately listed and contain multiple structures within the larger Fort Street Historic District. The district is itself contained within a larger area known locally as Boise's North End Preservation District, although the North End includes other NRHP listed historic districts.

The M.J. Marks House in Boise, Idaho, is a 2+1⁄2-story Colonial Revival house with "bungaloid features" designed by Tourtellotte & Hummel and constructed in 1911. The house includes random course sandstone veneer on first-story walls with flared second-story walls veneered with square shingles under a low pitch hip roof. Room sized porches are a prominent feature of the design.
