Nicholasville is a home rule city in and the county seat of Jessamine County, Kentucky. The population was 31,490 during the 2020 U.S. census, making Nicholasville the 10th-largest settlement in the state. Since the late 20th century, Nicholasville has undergone rapid growth; the population increased 440.23% between 1970 and 2020. The city serves as both a residential area for Lexington-area commuters and as an employment and shopping center for central Kentucky.

Jessamine County () is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of the 2020 census, the population was 52,991. Its county seat is Nicholasville. The county was founded in December 1798. Jessamine County is part of the Lexington-Fayette, KY Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is within the Inner Blue Grass region, long a center of farming and blooded stock raising, including thoroughbred horses. The legislature established a commercial wine industry here in the late 18th century.

Prior to this, the school was divided into two separate institutions: East Jessamine High School and West Jessamine High School. It is the fastest growing high school in Jessamine County.

WCGW leaves the air from sunset to sunrise to protect the nighttime skywave signal of WABC in New York City. WABC is a Class A station and its 770 AM is a United States clear-channel frequency.

Jessamine () is an unincorporated community located in Jessamine County, Kentucky, United States. Its post office is no longer in service.

The Brick House on Shun Pike, near Nicholasville, Kentucky, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. The listing included four contributing buildings on 40 acres (16 ha).The house is a five-bay one-story brick central passage plan house, with an original brick ell and brick end chimneys. The brickwork is Flemish bond. It has high quality Federal-style interior woodwork.It is located off what is now Kentucky Route 1268.

Roberts Chapel is a historic chapel in Nicholasville, Kentucky. It was built in 1845 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. During the Civil War, the hospital's proximity to Camp Nelson prompted its use as a military hospital.

The Young House is an historic estate in Jessamine County, Kentucky, United States, between Nicholasville and Wilmore off of Kentucky Route 29 on Lexington Road. Popular legend has it that the house was the birthplace of Bennett H. Young, an American Civil War soldier, lawyer, and architect.

The Primate Rescue Center is a primate rescue organization founded by Clay Miller and April Truitt in the late 1980s. The PRC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Wilmore, Kentucky, United States, approximately 17 miles south of Lexington, Kentucky. The PRC provides lifetime sanctuary for rescued primates from all over the United States, and is home to over 50 primates, including a troop of 11 common chimpanzees.
