Mission San Luis Rey de Francia

San Luis Rey College was a Franciscan seminary in Oceanside, California, United States. It was located on the site of Mission San Luis Rey de Francia, one of the California missions founded by the Franciscans in 1798. The school had moved from Mission Santa Barbara, headquarters of the Franciscan province, in 1929. In 1950 it became a four-year accredited college. The school closed in 1968 and the seminary was relocated to Berkeley as the Franciscan School of Theology, one of the schools that is a part of the Graduate Theological Union.

Declared a California Distinguished School in the early 2000s, it was originally named "Oceanside High School East", and officially became El Camino High School in 1976. El Camino's Truax Theatre was built in the early 1980s and houses a large performance venue, an adjacent classroom with stage and large music and drama rooms. It also recently built a new Science and Technology Building and is undergoing constant construction to clean up the campus. El Camino maintains a close athletic rivalry with Oceanside High School. The ECHS mascot is the "Wildcat" and the school colors are brown and gold.

Following the U.S. conquest of California, the former mission lands were developed into an oceanfront resort and the community's name gradually changed to Oceanside.

Frontwave Arena is a multi-purpose 7,600 seat indoor arena under construction in Oceanside, California. The arena, projected to open in summer 2024, will be the new home of the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL)'s San Diego Sockers. The arena will be the first large multi purpose indoor entertainment venue in North County (San Diego area). In 2022, a 10-year naming rights agreement with Oceanside-headquartered Frontwave Credit Union was announced, giving the arena its official name.

Mount Ecclesia (dedicated on October 28, 1911) is the location of the international headquarters of the fraternal and service organization The Rosicrucian Fellowship (TRF), located on grounds in Oceanside, California. It is also the location of its spiritual temple, called The Ecclesia, situated upon the promontory of a high mesa overlooking the San Luis Rey River Valley and the Franciscan Mission San Luis Rey de Francia. On April 7, 1995, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places as the Rosicrucian Fellowship Temple.
