San Luis Rey, Oceanside, California

San Luis Rey College was a Franciscan seminary in Oceanside, California, United States. It was located on the site of Mission San Luis Rey de Francia, one of the California missions founded by the Franciscans in 1798. The school had moved from Mission Santa Barbara, headquarters of the Franciscan province, in 1929. In 1950 it became a four-year accredited college. The school closed in 1968 and the seminary was relocated to Berkeley as the Franciscan School of Theology, one of the schools that is a part of the Graduate Theological Union.

Mission San Luis Rey de Francia (Spanish: Misión San Luis Rey de Francia) is a former Spanish mission in San Luis Rey, a neighborhood of Oceanside, California. This Mission lent its name to the Luiseño tribe of Mission Indians. At its prime, Mission San Luis Rey's structures and services compound covered almost 950,400 acres (384,600 ha), making it the largest of the Californian missions, along with its surrounding agricultural land. Multiple outposts were built in support of Mission San Luis Rey and placed under its supervision, including San Antonio de Pala Asistencia in 1816 and Las Flores Estancia in 1823.

El Camino High School is one of two high schools of the Oceanside Unified School District, located at 400 Rancho Del Oro Drive in Oceanside, California. Declared a California Distinguished School in the early 2000s, it was originally named "Oceanside High School East", and officially became El Camino High School in 1976. El Camino's Truax Theatre was built in the early 1980s and houses a large performance venue, an adjacent classroom with stage and large music and drama rooms. It also recently built a new Science and Technology Building and is undergoing constant construction to clean up the campus. El Camino maintains a close athletic rivalry with Oceanside High School. The ECHS mascot is the "Wildcat" and the school colors are brown and gold.

Oceanside is a city on the South Coast of California, located in San Diego County. The city had a population of 174,068 at the 2020 United States census, up from 167,086 at the 2010 census. The city is a popular tourist destination, owing to its historic landmarks, beaches, and architecture. Oceanside's origins date to 1798, when the Spanish founded the village of San Luis Rey with the establishment of Mission San Luis Rey de Francia by Fermín de Lasuén. During the Spanish period, Mission San Luis Rey grew to be the largest of all the Californian missions, but following the Mexican secularization act of 1833 the mission and its community declined. Following the U.S. conquest of California, the former mission lands were developed into an oceanfront resort and the community's name gradually changed to Oceanside.

Frontwave Arena is a multi-purpose 7,600 seat indoor arena under construction in Oceanside, California. The arena, projected to open in summer 2024, will be the new home of the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL)'s San Diego Sockers. The arena will be the first large multi purpose indoor entertainment venue in North County (San Diego area). In 2022, a 10-year naming rights agreement with Oceanside-headquartered Frontwave Credit Union was announced, giving the arena its official name.

The airport is operated and managed by Airport Property Ventures. Although most U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA, Oceanside Municipal Airport is assigned OKB by the FAA and OCN by the IATA. The airport's ICAO identifier is KOKB. The FAA identifier OCN belongs to the Oceanside VORTAC 4 miles west-northwest of the Oceanside Airport.

Mount Ecclesia (dedicated on October 28, 1911) is the location of the international headquarters of the fraternal and service organization The Rosicrucian Fellowship (TRF), located on grounds in Oceanside, California. It is also the location of its spiritual temple, called The Ecclesia, situated upon the promontory of a high mesa overlooking the San Luis Rey River Valley and the Franciscan Mission San Luis Rey de Francia. On April 7, 1995, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places as the Rosicrucian Fellowship Temple.
