The Electoral district of Gunbower was an electoral district of the Victorian Legislative Assembly. It was created by The Electoral Act Amendment Act 1888 taking effect at the 1889 elections. The district was bound by the County of Bendigo and the Loddon, Murray and Campaspe Rivers.

3BPH is a radio station based in Bendigo, Victoria. Mount Alexander is a mountain located approximately 125 km north-west of Melbourne, near the town of Harcourt. It rises 350 metres above the surrounding area to a level of 744 metres above sea level. Being a prominent local landmark, the mountain has its name associated with the surrounding district once known as the Mount Alexander goldfields, and presently defined as the Shire of Mount Alexander, centred on Castlemaine. It is essentially an extension of the larger town of Castlemaine, nearby to the south. At the 2016 census, Barkers Creek had a population of 457.

The Garfield water wheel, sometimes referred to as the Forrest Creek Mine water wheel, was a large water wheel used to power a stamper battery at a gold mine near Chewton, Victoria, Australia. Constructed in 1887, the water wheel was used until 1903 and then was dismantled in 1904. There are some remnants at its location.

It was created in the redistribution of provinces in 1882 when the Central and Eastern Provinces were abolished. The new North Central Province, South Yarra, North Yarra, South Eastern and Melbourne Provinces were then created.North Central Province was created and defined by the Legislative Council Act 1881 (taking effect from the 1882 elections) as consisting of the following divisions: McIvor, Heathcote, Pyalong, Kyneton, Glenlyon, Metcalfe, Strathfieldsaye, Mount Alexander, Mount Franklin, Newstead, Maldon, Castlemaine, Chewton and Daylesford.North Central Province was abolished in 1904, with the creation of the new East Yarra, Melbourne East, Melbourne North, Melbourne South and Melbourne West Provinces .
