Styford Bridge is a modern concrete bridge carrying the A68 road across the River Tyne east of Riding Mill, Northumberland, England and forms part of the A68 bypass of Corbridge.

Bywell is a village and civil parish in Northumberland, England. It is situated on the north bank of the River Tyne opposite Stocksfield, between Hexham and Newcastle. The parish has a population of around 380 and Newton is now its most populous settlement.

Bywell Hall is a privately owned 18th-century country house situated on the north bank of the River Tyne at Bywell, Northumberland, England. It is a Grade II* listed building.

Bywell Castle is situated in the village of Bywell overlooking the River Tyne, four miles east of Corbridge, Northumberland, England (grid reference NZ049615). It is a Grade I listed building and a Scheduled Ancient Monument. It was built in 1430 by the Neville family (see Earl of Westmorland) but was never completed. The impressive three-storey gatehouse remains, together with part of a curtain wall into which has been incorporated a much later house (Grade II listed). King Henry VI took refuge in Bywell Castle after the Battle of Hexham in 1464.The Castle is privately owned and not normally open to visitors. It is the seat of the Viscounts Allendale. Bywell Castle gave its name to a ship, which ploughed into the SS Princess Alice on the River Thames in September 1878, sinking her within minutes. The number of lives lost in the disaster are unclear but estimates have ranged from 590 to 640.

St Andrew's Church is an Anglican church in the village of Bywell, Northumberland, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building, and is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust.

Riding Mill is a railway station on the Tyne Valley Line, which runs between Newcastle and Carlisle via Hexham. The station, situated 16 miles 71 chains (16.9 mi; 27.2 km) west of Newcastle, serves the villages of Broomhaugh and Riding Mill in Northumberland, England. It is owned by Network Rail and managed by Northern Trains.

Broomley is a village in the civil parish of Stocksfield, in Northumberland, England. It is situated between Hexham and Newcastle upon Tyne, to the south of the River Tyne. "Broomley School" is located not in Broomley, but in the neighbouring village of Stocksfield. Until 11 January 2019 Stocksfield parish was officially called "Broomley and Stocksfield", and until 1 April 1955 it was called just "Broomley".

Bywell Bridge is a 19th-century stone bridge across the River Tyne. It is a Grade II listed building.

Milecastle 19 (Matfen Piers) was a milecastle of the Roman Hadrian's Wall. Sited just to the east of the hamlet of Matfen Piers, the milecastle is today covered by the B6318 Military Road. The milecastle is notable for the discovery of an altar by Eric Birley in the 1930s. An inscription on the altar is one of the few dedications to a mother goddess found in Roman Britain, and was made by members of the First Cohort of Varduli from northern Spain. The presence of the Vardulians at this milecastle has led to debate amongst archaeologists over the origins of troops used to garrison the wall. A smaller altar was found at one of the two associated turrets.

Broomhaugh is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Broomhaugh and Riding, in Northumberland, in England. It is situated between Hexham and Newcastle upon Tyne, to the south of the River Tyne near Riding Mill, and adjacent to the A695 road. In 1951 the parish had a population of 228.Broomhaugh lies at the eastern edge of the village of Riding Mill. Broomhaugh consists of a mix of stone buildings dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries, an Edwardian terrace and two brick-built terraces linked to the development of the railway between Newcastle and Carlisle. The earlier buildings include a former farm house, farm buildings converted into houses and a Methodist chapel and manse. The majority of the housing is located on what local people refer to as "The Street", which runs down to a former ford across the river Tyne. The Street follows the line of a former drovers' road down which cattle were driven from Scotland to the market towns of northern England.

Riding Mill is a village near Hexham in Northumberland, England. It is part of the civil parish of Broomhaugh and Riding. It is served by Riding Mill railway station and by a frequent bus service on the route from Hexham to Newcastle. Riding Mill is notable as the location of Riding Mill pumping station. Up until here the water released from Kielder Water uses the River Tyne but at Riding Mill it is pumped to parts of Tyne and Wear and over the hills to Teesside. Leaving the village towards Hexham, Hollin Hill Terrace is situated on the left. Very little information is available on these eight dwellings but they are an example of Victorian architecture. This terrace was not shown on maps of the area prior to 1850, but appear on a map dated between 1850/1894.

Broomhaugh and Riding is a civil parish in Northumberland, England. It includes the villages of Broomhaugh and Riding Mill. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 936, increasing to 966 at the 2011 census.
