Untermerzbach is a municipality in the district of Haßberge in Bavaria in Germany.

Alster is a river of Bavaria and of Thuringia, Germany. It is a right tributary of the Itz, which it joins near Kaltenbrunn.

Rodach is a river of Bavaria and of Thuringia, Germany. It is a left tributary of the Itz near Itzgrund. It passes through Bad Rodach.

Lichtenstein Castle (German: Burg Lichtenstein) is a high to late medieval hill castle, 380 m above sea level (NN), about six kilometres north of Ebern in the Lower Franconian county of Haßberge in Bavaria. It is located in the municipality of Pfarrweisach. Of the originally four sub-castles of this great joint-fief or Ganerbenburg only one, the South Castle, is still occupied. The North Castle only survives as ruins. On the site of the now vanished third castle the Protestant Church of the Eternal Flame (Zum Ewigen Licht) was built in the Baroque era. In the southwestern part of the site lie the ruins of a fourth joint-vassal castle seat.

Rotenhan Castle (German: Burg Rotenhan) is a castle ruin about two kilometres north of the village of Eyrichshof in Lower Franconia in the south German state of Bavaria. Eyrichshof lies within the borough of Ebern in the district of Haßberge. The castle is the ancestral home (Stammsitz) of the House of Rotenhan, a family of imperial knights.

Ebern (German pronunciation: [ˈeːbɐn] ()) is a town in the Haßberge district of Bavaria, Germany. It is situated 22 km (14 mi) southwest of Coburg and 23 km (14 mi) northwest of Bamberg. Its population is about 8,000. Its mayor is Robert Herrmann. Ebern is about 1,000 years old and has an intact defensive wall. Its name derives from Eber, the German word for boar.

The castle (and former monastery) of Tambach has been owned by the counts of Ortenburg since 1806.

Ummerstadt (German pronunciation: [ˈʊmɐˌʃtat] ) is a town in the region Heldburger Land in district of Hildburghausen, in Thuringia, Germany. It is situated 19 km south of Hildburghausen, and 11 km west of Coburg.

Erlebach was a village in Germany, founded in 1310 A D. It was destroyed by the East German authorities in 1986 as it stood too close to the Inner German border (part of the larger "Iron Curtain"), the border between the post-war states of East and West Germany. It lay in the extreme south of Thuringia in the district of Hildburghausen, only a few hundred metres away from the Thuringian-Bavarian border.In December 1986, the last family left the village. After that, all the houses were demolished and the land leveled. What remains is the village pond and a plaque on the old village site.
