Sebnitz

Sebnitz (German: Bahnhof Sebnitz) is a railway station in the town of Sebnitz, Saxony, Germany. The station lies on the Bautzen–Bad Schandau railway and the Rumburk–Sebnitz railway. The station is served by DB Regio Südost.The line into the Czech Republic, to Dolní Poustevna was closed in 1945. In 2012 it was announced that funding had been agreed for the rebuilding and reopening of the line. The new line was opened on 5 July 2014. This work included rebuilding the junction and some hundred metres of track and signalling to the border, from where the track has already been rebuilt.

Dolní Poustevna (Czech: Nádraží Dolní Poustevna) is a railway station in the town of Dolní Poustevna, Ústí nad Labem Region, Czech Republic. The station was modernised in 2009 with the removal of old tracks and building new platforms. The station used to be a border station with Germany, where it connects to the German network at Sebnitz. The cross-border connection was closed in 1945 and reopened in July 2014. The station is now served by České dráhy in cooperation with DB Regio: the National Park Railway. This service connects Děčín and Rumburk via Bad Schandau and Sebnitz.

Ottendorf is a village in Saxony, Germany, situated in the district of Sächsische Schweiz-Osterzgebirge. It was one of the villages that composed the municipality of Kirnitzschtal. Since 1 October 2012, it has been part of the municipality of Sebnitz.

It had its administrative seat in Lichtenhain. The municipality was divided into the following 5 Ortsteile: Altendorf Mittelndorf Lichtenhain Ottendorf Saupsdorf

The Kuhstall (Czech: Kraví hora) is the second largest natural arch in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains after the Pravčická brána. It is located on the Neuer Wildenstein, a 337 m high rock outcrop in the hinterland of Saxon Switzerland, south of the Lichtenhain Waterfall and above the Kirnitzsch valley. It is crowned by the 15th-century castle of Wildenstein. The arch is 11 metres high, 17 metres wide and 24 metres deep.

Lichtenhain is a village in Saxony, Germany, situated in the district of Sächsische Schweiz-Osterzgebirge. It lies on the S154 road that links Bad Schandau and Sebnitz. It was one of the villages that composed the municipality of Kirnitzschtal, but, since 1 October 2012, it has been part of the municipality of Sebnitz. The tourist attraction of the Lichtenhain Waterfall lies to the south of the village. It is 2.5 kilometres (1.6 mi) away on foot, but some 20 kilometres (12 mi) away by road, and is best approached by the S165 road from Bad Schandau, or the Kirnitzschtal tramway that parallels it.

Amtshainersdorf (German: Bahnhof Amtshainersdorf) is a railway station in the village of Amtshainersdorf, Saxony, Germany. The station lies on the Bautzen–Bad Schandau railway. The station is served by one train service, operated by DB Regio in cooperation with České dráhy: the National Park Railway. This service connects Děčín and Rumburk via Bad Schandau and Sebnitz.

Saxon Switzerland National Park (German: Nationalpark Sächsische Schweiz), is a national park in the German Free State of Saxony, near the Saxon capital Dresden. It covers two areas of 93.5 km² (36.1 mi²) in the heart of the German part of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains, which is often called (the) Saxon Switzerland (German: Sächsische Schweiz). The national park adjoins Bohemian Switzerland National Park (Czech: České Švýcarsko) in the Czech Republic.

Saupsdorf is a village in Saxony, Germany, situated in the district of Sächsische Schweiz-Osterzgebirge. It was one of the villages that composed the municipality of Kirnitzschtal. Since 1 October 2012, it has been part of the municipality of Sebnitz.

The Lichtenhain Waterfall is a waterfall formed by the Lichtenhainer village brook and is situated in the Kirnitzsch Valley in the Saxon Switzerland of Germany. The village of Lichtenhain lies to the north of the waterfall, and is 2.5 kilometres (1.6 mi) away on foot, but some 20 kilometres (12 mi) away by road. William Lebrecht Götzinger, chronicler of the Saxon Switzerland, mentioned the waterfall in his 1812 work Schandau and its environments. The original waterfall was not impressive enough for tourists, so the brook was dammed up by a pushable weir. Since the Kirnitzschtalbahn, a tramway linking the waterfall with Bad Schandau, was opened in 1898, hundreds of thousands of tourists have visited the waterfall.

The Winterstein, also called the Hinteres Raubschloss, is an isolated, elongated rock massif in the hinterland of Saxon Switzerland in East Germany. On the summit there was once a medieval castle, also called Winterstein, of which remains such as rebates for timber beams, hewn-out steps and cisterns are still visible.
