The Angel Church (German: Engelkirche) is an Evangelical-Lutheran church in Hinterhermsdorf which overlooks this Saxon village. Its name, unusual for a Protestant church, comes from the Baroque baptismal angel that decorates the interior.

The Großer Zschand is the longest dry valley in Saxon Switzerland and runs for about 6 km from the Neumann Mill in the Kirnitzsch valley to the Roßmaulwiese meadown in Bohemian Switzerland. The Großer Zschand has no permanent watercourse; during times of snowmelt or after heavy rain, individual, locally limited watercourses and small marshy areas are formed.

Saxon Switzerland National Park (German: Nationalpark Sächsische Schweiz), is a national park in the German Free State of Saxony, near the Saxon capital Dresden. It covers two areas of 93.5 km² (36.1 mi²) in the heart of the German part of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains, which is often called (the) Saxon Switzerland (German: Sächsische Schweiz). The national park adjoins Bohemian Switzerland National Park (Czech: České Švýcarsko) in the Czech Republic.

The Winterstein, also called the Hinteres Raubschloss, is an isolated, elongated rock massif in the hinterland of Saxon Switzerland in East Germany. On the summit there was once a medieval castle, also called Winterstein, of which remains such as rebates for timber beams, hewn-out steps and cisterns are still visible.

Dolní Poustevna (German: Niedereinsiedel) in Děčín District in the Ústí nad Labem Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 1,700 inhabitants.

Dolní Poustevna (Czech: Nádraží Dolní Poustevna) is a railway station in the town of Dolní Poustevna, Ústí nad Labem Region, Czech Republic. The station was modernised in 2009 with the removal of old tracks and building new platforms. The station used to be a border station with Germany, where it connects to the German network at Sebnitz. The cross-border connection was closed in 1945 and reopened in July 2014. The station is now served by České dráhy in cooperation with DB Regio: the National Park Railway. This service connects Děčín and Rumburk via Bad Schandau and Sebnitz.

The Obere Schleuse in Hinterhermsdorf is a barrage system on the German-Czech border river of Kirnitzsch and impounds the water over a length of 700 metres. It was originally a facility for timber rafting. There are boat rides on the reservoir today during the summer months. At the boat landing point the water depth is 1 metre; by the dam it is 4 metres. The water temperature rarely climbs above 8 °C in summer. In the winter months, during when there are no boat trips, the water is not impounded and the Kirnitzsch flows in its original river bed.
