Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center, formerly known as State Farm Show Arena, is a large exhibition center and indoor arena in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. It is primarily used for concerts, agricultural exhibitions, the Pennsylvania Farm Show, and indoor football. The complex also hosts more than 200 other exhibits and trade shows every year. The Farm Show Complex is 60 acres (240,000 m2), houses 24 acres (97,000 m2) under roof, spread throughout 11 buildings including three arenas.The complex consists of the following components: Main Hall, 146,527 square feet (13,612.8 m2), built in 1931 Exposition Hall, 172,000 square feet (16,000 m2) built in 2001 New Holland Arena, 28,000 square feet (2,600 m2) at floor, 7318 seats, completed in 1939 (originally named Large Arena until 2016) Equine Arena, 39,200 square feet (3,640 m2) at floor, 1660 seats Sale Arena, 4,000 square feet (370 m2) at floor, 918 seatsThe North, Northeast, Northwest and West Halls add another 187,600 square feet (17,430 m2) of space. A large equine barn serves the Equine Arena.

The Pennsylvania Farm Show is an annual agricultural exposition celebrating Pennsylvania's agriculture industry, held every January at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center, located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. It is the largest indoor agricultural event held in the United States. The Farm Show Complex houses 24 acres (97,000 m2) under its roof, spread throughout eleven halls, including three arenas. The annual event is free to the public and attracts over half a million visitors. This event was first held in 1917 as Pennsylvania's State Fair. The 2021 rendition of the Farm Show, however, was entirely virtual for the first time in its history due to the COVID-19 pandemic.The Farm Show has over 10,000 competitive events spread over 35 departments. All exhibits are owned, grown, or fashioned by residents of Pennsylvania. In addition to these events, the Farm Show offers hands-on learning activities such as lace making, wheat weaving, and blacksmithing. The Farm Show also features a portable merry-go-round carnival ride that was manufactured by the Allan Herschell Company in 1946. Antique agricultural equipment is often displayed at the show, alongside new farming technology.

HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College, (HACC) is a community college in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. HACC is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. HACC serves 17,000 degree-seeking students, as well as more than 8,300 remedial and workforce development students. The College has more than 100,000 alumni.

Asylum Run is a 4.2-mile-long (6.8 km) tributary of Paxton Creek in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania in the United States. Asylum Run joins Paxton Creek at the north-easternmost border of Harrisburg at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex. It is a tributary with flashy flows, meaning the water levels can vary greatly with storm events, due to rapid runoff upstream from massive amounts of impervious surfaces in Colonial Park, Penbrook, and adjacent areas.

Commonwealth Charter Academy (previously named Commonwealth Connections Academy) is a large, public, cyber charter school. The school serves all school-aged children in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania regardless of where the child lives. The Academy's headquarters is located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. It is one of sixteen public cyber charters schools operating in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The School operates seven additional branches, called Family Service Centers, across the Commonwealth: Andreas, Allentown, Harrisburg, Center City Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Cranberry, Scranton and Williamsport. When the School was originally approved it served Kindergarten through 8th grade pupils all across Pennsylvania.In 2023, enrollment was 22,000 pupils in grades kindergarten through 12th. The Capital Area Intermediate Unit IU15 provides the school with a wide variety of services like specialized education for disabled students and hearing, speech and visual disability services and professional development for staff and faculty.

Camp Curtin is a historic neighborhood in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania's northern end, located in Uptown and named for the American Civil War camp of the same name. It is bordered currently by landmarks of Fifth Street to the west, the railroad tracks next to the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex to the east, Maclay Street to the south, and Reels Lane to the North.

The Camp Curtin Fire Station is a historic fire station located at Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania and named for the Civil War camp of the same name. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1981, and was decommissioned the year prior because it was no longer large enough to accommodate standard fire trucks.

The Wesley Union African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church is an AME Zion Church of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. It was formally founded in 1829, starting with a log church building. As the congregation grew throughout the 19th century, the building was expanded until two brick church buildings were constructed in 1862 and 1898. For a period of time, the church operated a school for African American children.

Harrisburg Intermodal Yard is a large rail yard located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The yard used to be operated by Conrail, and since 1999, has been operated by the Norfolk Southern Railway. The Harrisburg Yard, the Enola Yard and the Rutherford Yard are the three major rail facilities located in the Harrisburg area.

Harrisburg State Hospital, formerly known from 1851 to 1937 as Pennsylvania State Lunatic Hospital, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, was Pennsylvania's first public facility to house the mentally ill and disabled. Its campus is located on Cameron and Maclay Streets, and operated as a mental hospital until 2006.

Harrisburg Military Post is a historic National Guard armory complex and national historic district located at Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. It serves as the headquarters for the 28th Infantry Division. The complex consist of ten buildings, six of which are contributing to the historic place. The contributing buildings were built between 1929 and 1938. They are the three-story, French Renaissance-style Administration Building (1938); Warehouse (1933); Tudor Revival-style Gun Shed (1930); Stable No. 4 (1932); Stable Nos. 2 and 3 (1930); and Stable No. 1 (1929).It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

The Capital Area Greenbelt is a looping trail located in the area of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. This 20-mile loop around Pennsylvania's capital city provides visitors and tourists with opportunities to hike, ride bicycles, skate, jog, fish, walk their dogs, spot rare birds, learn about history, enjoy native flora and fauna, and appreciate nature. While parts of the trail are shared with roads, most of the loop is a dedicated path. The Trail, as it is commonly referred to by locals, passes along the Susquehanna River through Reservoir Park, Riverfront Park, Five Senses Garden, and Wildwood Park and Nature Center. In addition to parks, the Capital Area Greenbelt passes alongside attractions including the grave site of John Harris Sr. (the namesake of the city of Harrisburg), the Governor's Mansion, Fort Hunter, Harrisburg State Hospital, and the National Civil War Museum.
