Wellow, Hampshire

Sherfield English is a small village and civil parish in the Test Valley borough of Hampshire, England. It is located on the A27 road, around 4 miles (6.4 km) west of Romsey. Sherfield English appears in Domesday Book of 1086 as the manor of Sirefelle, derived from the Anglo-Saxon scir feld, which probably means "bright open land". The suffix "English" probably comes from the L'Engleys family, who held the manor in the 14th century.The parish church is dedicated to St Leonard. It was built in 1902 with funds given by Lady Ashburton, and is Grade II listed. The village also contains a village hall and a pub, The Hatchet Inn.

Plaitford is a small village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Melchet Park and Plaitford, in the Test Valley district of Hampshire, England. Its nearest town is Romsey, which lies approximately 4.9 miles (7.8 km) east from the village; the large village of West Wellow is immediately west of Plaitford. In 1931 the parish had a population of 195.Plaitford manor was anciently within the county of Wiltshire. By 1885 it had become a civil parish, which was transferred to Hampshire in 1895. On 1 April 1932, the parishes of Plaitford and Melchet Park (north of Plaitford and also formerly in Wiltshire) were amalgamated to form the parish of Melchet Park and Plaitford.The original village of Plaitford lies to the north of the River Blackwater, a tributary of the River Test, but the chief part of the population is now found further south near the A36 road, which crosses the parish from east to west. Plaitford Green is a small district in the north of the parish. Plaitford Common, which occupies the southern portion of the parish, consists chiefly of rough grassland and is owned by the National Trust.

Embley is a small village in the Test Valley district of Hampshire, England in the United Kingdom. Its nearest town is Romsey, which lies approximately 3.5 miles (4.8 km) east from the village. It is in the civil parish of Wellow. A famous 19th century resident was Florence Nightingale, who for much of her childhood was raised in the parish at her family's home Embley Park.

Paultons Park is an amusement park located in the New Forest National Park, near the village of Ower, in Hampshire, England, with over 70 rides and attractions. The Peppa Pig World themed area is based on the children's animated television series Peppa Pig. The Lost Kingdom themed area includes 27 animatronic dinosaurs. The park name is derived from the former Paultons Estate, on which the park is situated. The park covers 140 acres of land and features a collection of around 80 species of birds and animals, in addition to the rides. Most of the theme park rides are designed for children and families, which is why the park considers itself a family theme park. The nearest railway station is Totton which is 5.64 km away from the attraction. The titular character of Peppa Pig serves as the park's mascot.

Embley School (formerly Hampshire Collegiate School) is an independent day and boarding school for both girls and boys aged 2 to 18 located in Embley Park in Wellow (near Romsey), Hampshire, England.

Embley Park, in Wellow (near Romsey, Hampshire), was the family home of Florence Nightingale from 1825 until her death in 1910. It is also where Florence Nightingale claimed she had received her divine calling from God. It is now the location of Embley, a co-educational independent school for 3–18 year olds. Embley was known as Hampshire Collegiate School until September 2019.

Storm Chaser is a steel spinning roller coaster located at Paultons Park in Hampshire, England. The coaster debuted alongside the new £12 million Tornado Springs area of the park on 12 April, 2021. Storm Chaser and Tornado Springs were initially intended to debut for the 2020 season, but were postponed to 2021 due to the then-emerging COVID-19 pandemic.

Dunwood Camp is the site of an Iron Age hillfort located in Hampshire. It occupies the summit of a sandy hill. It has a single Rampart (fortification) but no definite indication of a ditch and it is possible that this earthwork was never completed.

Copythorne Common is a 17-hectare (42-acre) nature reserve west of Southampton in Hampshire. It is managed by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust. It is part of the New Forest, which is a Special Area of Conservation and a Site of Special Scientific Interest.The common has grassland, woods and dry heath. Birds include long-tailed tits and woodlarks, while there are reptiles such as slow worms, adders and common lizards.

Ower is a hamlet in the New Forest district of Hampshire, England. Its nearest towns are Totton – approximately 2+1⁄2 miles (4.0 km) to the southeast, and Romsey – around 3+1⁄2 miles (5.6 km) to the north-east. Ower lies on the A36 road northwest of Totton. It lies mostly within the civil parish of Copythorne (where the majority of the population was included), although buildings on the east side of the road are in the civil parish of Netley Marsh. It is, however, somewhat cut off from these two parishes by the M27 motorway which passes immediately to the south of the hamlet. There are two pubs in Ower, called The Mortimer Arms, and The Vine Inn. It also is where the theme park Paultons Park is situated.
