Riedenburg

Schambach is a river of Bavaria, Germany. It is a right tributary of the Altmühl at Riedenburg.

Schloss Hexenagger is a Bavarian castle located in the district of Hexenagger located near the town of Altmannstein in the Altmühl Valley Nature Park (Naturpark Altmühltal). The castle probably was first built in the tenth century, as it is first mentioned in a record from the Monastery of St. Emmeram of Regensburg in 982. Originally, the Bavarian noble family of Muggenthaler resided in the castle. The castle was destroyed during the Thirty Years' War and rebuilt in the Baroque style. Since the extinction of the Hexenagger Muggerthaler family line, the castle has passed through several owners. One of the most notable owners was Elector Karl Albrecht, later Holy Roman Emperor Charles VII, who purchased the castle in 1724 as a gift for his mistress, Countess Maria Josepha von Morawitzky.Today, the castle is privately owned by Eberhard Leichtfuß and his family. Mr. Leichtfuß is the sixth generation of the noble family von Weidenbach to inherit and live in the castle. The family supports the restoration of the castle by hosting events including summer medieval festivals, weddings, company events, and Christmas markets.

The Kleines Schulerloch inscription is the runic inscription of debated authenticity discovered in the Kleines Schulerloch cave that was found in 1937, Altmühl valley (near Essing, Bavaria) was not noticed until the 1950s. It reads birg : leub : selbrade,probably meaning "Birg, beloved of Selbrad", next to a drawing of an ibex or stag scratched into the stone from perhaps the same time, but whose the authenticity is also debated. The inscription was generally considered to be fake shortly after its discovery.The discovery of a parallel inscription in grave 172 of the "Unterer Stollen" cemetery in Bad Krozingen in 2001, reading boba : leub | agirikerevived discussions regarding the authenticity of the Kleines Schulerloch inscription. Still, in 2003, Looijenga concluded that the inscription is an obvious falsification. In 2012, Findell, accepting the Bad Krozingen inscription as genuine, noted that most scholars still objected to its authenticity and considered the Kleines Schulerloch inscription to be at least "suspect".

The Abens is a river in Bavaria, Germany, and a right-bank tributary of the Danube. Its source is near Au in der Hallertau. Some 71 kilometres (44 mi) long, it flows generally northward through the small towns of Au in der Hallertau, Rudelzhausen, Mainburg, Siegenburg, and Abensberg. It empties into the Danube at Eining, part of Neustadt an der Donau.

It flows generally north through the small towns Hilgertshausen-Tandern, Reichertshausen, Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm, Geisenfeld and Vohburg. It flows into the Abens near Neustadt an der Donau.
