Radeburg

Moritzburg Castle (German: Schloss Moritzburg) or Moritzburg Palace is a Baroque palace in Moritzburg, in the German state of Saxony, about 13 kilometres (8.1 mi) northwest of the Saxon capital, Dresden. The castle has four round towers and lies on a symmetrical artificial island. It is named after Duke Moritz of Saxony, who had a hunting lodge built there between 1542 and 1546. The surrounding woodlands and lakes were a favourite hunting area of the electors and kings of Saxony.

Moritzburg is a municipality in the district of Meissen in Saxony, Germany, between Meissen itself, an early centre of Saxony, and today's capital Dresden. It is most famous for its Baroque castle, Schloss Moritzburg. The village, which was originally known as Eisenburg, was first mentioned in 1294. It became a market in 1675. The Saxon state stud has been located here since 1828. In 1884, a narrow gauge railway, the Radebeul–Radeburg line, was built connecting the town to the district capital Radebeul and Radeburg. It was renamed Moritzburg, after the nearby castle, in 1934. German artist Käthe Kollwitz lived at the invitation of Prince Ernst Heinrich von Wettin in the Rüdenhof in Moritzburg from 1944 until her death on 22 April 1945. In 1995, a small museum was opened in the Rüdenhof.

The Käthe Kollwitz House (German: Käthe-Kollwitz-Haus) in Moritzburg, Saxony, is one of three museums in Germany dedicated to the artist Käthe Kollwitz (1867—1945), the other two being the Käthe Kollwitz Museums in Cologne and Berlin.

Destinations from the airport include a few European cities and several holiday destinations. Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW), a subsidiary of ST Aerospace and Airbus, is based at the airport. EFW is mainly tasked with freighter conversions.

Elbe Flugzeugwerke GmbH (literally: Elbe aircraft factory, commonly abbreviated as EFW) is an aerospace manufacturer based in Dresden, Germany. It was established during 1955 as VEB Flugzeugwerke Dresden (VEB). Early projects included the licensed production of Ilyushin Il-14 airliners and the development of an indigenously developed four-engine jetliner, the Baade 152, which was terminated during the flight-testing phase following the loss of the first prototype. Between 1961 and 1990, the majority of VEB's activities centered around support and overhaul services for Soviet-designed fighters and helicopters for Warsaw Pact air forces, as well as the civil airliners of the East German airline Interflug. The company underwent drastic restructuring following the reunification of Germany in 1990, quickly becoming aligned with Deutsche Airbus. EFW is currently a joint venture between the multinational aerospace company Airbus (45%) and the Singapore-based ST Aerospace (55%) Since the end of the Cold War, the company has largely focused on servicing airliners and the conversion of passenger airliners into dedicated freighter and aerial refuelling tanker configurations. EFW is also a supplier of Airbus, producing fiber composite sheets for aircraft interiors.

Dresden Flughafen (German: Bahnhof Dresden Flughafen) is an underground railway station at the Airport serving the city of Dresden in Saxony, Germany. The station, along with the 1.15 km long extension of the Klotzsche–Grenzstraße railway to Dresden Airport opened on 25 March 2001. The station was the first and, until the opening of the Leipzig City Tunnel, the only underground station in Saxony. In addition, it was the first station in Saxony and the eighth in Germany at an airport.

Dresden Grenzstraße is a railway station in Dresden-Klotzsche, Germany. The station is located on the Dresden-Klotzsche–Dresden Flughafen railway. The train services are operated by Deutsche Bahn, as part of the Dresden S-Bahn.
