Hothouse, Georgia

Hothouse Creek is a stream in the U.S. states of Georgia and North Carolina. It is a tributary to the Toccoa/Ocoee River. Hothouse Creek was named for Cherokee sweat lodges in the area. An alternative spelling is "Hot House Creek".

Mineral Bluff Depot is a historic train depot of the Marietta and North Georgia Railroad that was built in 1887, in Mineral Bluff, Georgia. It is located at 150 Railroad Avenue.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 1, 2007. It had passenger service until 1949 and freight service until the late 1950s.

Mineral Bluff is a census-designated place and unincorporated community located in Fannin County in the U.S. state of Georgia. Its population was 223 as of the 2020 census. The community is situated 6 miles (10 km) northeast of the city of Blue Ridge, the county seat, 80 miles (130 km) east of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and 100 miles (160 km) north of Atlanta.

WLYY (1400 AM) was a radio station licensed to Copperhill, Tennessee, United States. The station was owned by Joy Christian Communications, Inc. The station signed on December 2, 1958 as WLSB. It changed its call letters to WLYY on June 23, 2013. On March 6, 2017, Joy Christian Communications requested the cancellation of the station's license, saying that WLYY "is no longer a viable operation" following the loss of its tower site; the license was cancelled on April 26, 2017.

Blue Ridge Lake is a reservoir in Fannin County, in the northern portion of the U.S. state of Georgia. The reservoir encompasses 3,300-acre (1,300 ha) of water, and a "full summer pool" of approximately 1,686 feet (514 m) above mean sea level. It is managed by the Tennessee Valley Authority and is primarily fed by the Toccoa River. Blue Ridge Lake was created by the completion of Blue Ridge Dam and has approximately 60 miles (97 km) of shoreline and a flood storage capacity of 68,500 acre⋅ft (84,500 dam3). The lake's levels fluctuate by about 20 feet (6.1 m) in a typical year. Blue Ridge Dam was completed in 1930. It stands 175 feet (53 m) high and is 1,553 feet (473 m) wide across the Toccoa river. The dam provides up to 13 megawatts of power via a single generator.

Blue Ridge Dam is a hydroelectric dam on the Toccoa River in Fannin County, in the U.S. state of Georgia. It is the uppermost of four dams on the Toccoa/Ocoee River owned and operated by the Tennessee Valley Authority. The dam impounds the 3,300-acre (1,300 ha) Blue Ridge Lake on the southwestern fringe of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Blue Ridge is a city in Fannin County, Georgia, United States. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 1,253. The city is the county seat of Fannin County and the largest city in the county.

James W. Baugh Homeplace is a former residence in Blue Ridge, Georgia. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1999, at which time it was the Baugh House Museum. It is located at 411 West First Street, Blue Ridge, GA 30513. It was deemed significant as a "rare two-story masonry I-house residence with Folk Victorian style elements." It was built in 1890 by James W. Baugh (1862-1915) and his brothers, all skilled masons, using bricks made on the site, to serve as home for James and his wife. James had moved to Blue Ridge from Polk County, Tennessee in c.1890 with his wife, Mary Theresa Geisler (1871-1962). The property was deeded to the city of Blue Ridge in 1987. The building is now operated as the Fannin County Historical Museum by the Fannin County Heritage Foundation. It is also known as the Baugh House Museum.

Blue Ridge Depot is a historic train depot in Blue Ridge, Georgia. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 15, 1982. It is located on Depot Street. The current building was constructed in 1906. The depot is the starting point of the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway.

The Blue Ridge Scenic Railway is a heritage railroad in northern Georgia. Based in Blue Ridge, Georgia, United States it follows the former Marietta and North Georgia Railroad line along the Toccoa River north to McCaysville, Georgia, and its Twin city of Copperhill, Tennessee. It is a subsidiary of the Georgia Northeastern Railroad, which also operates freight service on the same line. The Blue Ridge Scenic Railway started operations in 1998. Trains generally run Fridays to Mondays from late March to the last weekend in December, daily (except Wednesdays) during spring break (first full week of April), and summer (mid-June to the end of July), and from October until Thanksgiving. A special Christmas train runs Thanksgiving weekend, the weekends following, and the full week prior to Christmas itself. Normal trips resume for the final week of the year.

St. Luke's Church, also known as 'The Parish Church of the Mountains' is a congregation in the Anglican (Episcopal) tradition, located in Blue Ridge, Georgia. Founded in 1987 under the auspices of the Traditional Protestant Episcopal Foundation of Alabama, it is now part of the Diocese of the South of the Episcopal Missionary Church (Anglican), and is in communion with the Anglican Church of North America and GAFCON Global Anglican provinces. Worshippers are drawn from Fannin, Gilmer and Union Counties in Georgia and from Cherokee County in North Carolina and Polk County in Tennessee. Worship is classical and Biblical and is conducted according to the Book of Common Prayer.

The Fannin County Courthouse, built in 1937, is an historic courthouse building located in Blue Ridge, Georgia, United States. It was designed by Atlanta-based architect William Augustus Edwards who designed one other courthouse in Georgia, two in Florida and nine in South Carolina well as academic buildings at 12 institutions in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. On June 8, 1995, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. In 2004 it was replaced by a new courthouse built next door. It is now leased as Georgia Mountain Center for the Arts.
