Neuenstadt, usually known as Neuenstadt am Kocher (German: [ˈnɔʏənʃtat ʔam ˈkɔxɐ] ; and until as late as 1800 also known as Neuenstadt an der großen Linde) is a town in Baden-Württemberg in south-western Germany with 9,600 inhabitants. It consists of Neuenstadt, the villages of Stein am Kocher, Kochertürn, Cleversulzbach and Bürg and the hamlets Brambacher Hof (part of Kochertürn), Buchhof and Lobenbacher Hof (part of Stein). The name Neuenstadt is derived from the “der neuen Stadt” or “New Town” in English.

Bad Friedrichshall Hauptbahnhof is a regionally important junction station and a former border station in the city of Bad Friedrichshall in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. The modern Elsenz Valley Railway and Neckar Valley Railway branch from the Franconia Railway here. Until 1993 it was the starting point of the Lower Kocher Valley Railway. Sulzbach is the most populous residential district (of five) of the city of Billigheim, Germany. It is located in Neckar-Odenwald-county, five kilometers (3.1 mi) west of Billigheim and six kilometers (3.7 mi) east of Mosbach. Sulzbach has about 1803 inhabitants, who are largely Christian. A large number of the inhabitants are Roman Catholic, and there is also a significant Evangelical community in the city.

The Kocher (German pronunciation: [ˈkɔxɐ] ) is a 169 km (105 mi)-long right tributary of the Neckar in the north-eastern part of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The name "Kocher" originates from its Celtic name "cochan" and probably means winding, meandering river. Its total drainage area is 1,960 km2 (760 sq mi). The Kocher rises in the eastern foothills of the Swabian Alb from two karst springs, the Schwarzer (black) Kocher and the Weißer (white) Kocher, that join in Unterkochen near Aalen. The Schwarzer Kocher is approximately 8 km (5.0 mi) long. Its source discharge varies between 50 L/s and 4,000 L/s with an average of 680 L/s. The 3.3 km (2.1 mi) long Weißer Kocher has an average discharge of 400 L/s.
