Stone High School (Florida)

Hopkins, also known as South Melbourne, is a former town in Brevard County, Florida, United States. It is part of the present-day city of Melbourne.

Melbourne Central Catholic (MCC) is an American private, Roman Catholic, coed college-preparatory school high school located in Melbourne, in Brevard County, Florida. It was a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence in 1991.

The Myles Building is a historic U.S. building located at 911-919 East New Haven Avenue, Melbourne, Florida. This two story building was constructed in 1913 and included a restaurant and billiard parlor on the first floor and the Midway Hotel on the second. Soon after completion, the Melbourne Times newspaper relocated to the Myles Building. Part of the building was also used as a temporary classroom when the local schools ran out of space. After prohibition ended, Shorty's Bar opened at the billiard parlor and according to legend, gangster Al Capone played pool there.

The Henegar Center is a historic U.S. building located at 625 East New Haven Avenue, Melbourne, Florida. Built in 1919, it is one of Brevard County’s oldest public buildings. On March 12, 1963, the building received its name in honor of Ruth Henegar, a long-time teacher and principal at the school that used the building at the time. The building now serves as The Henegar Center for the Arts.

Crane Creek is a 3.3-mile-long (5.3 km) stream in Melbourne, Florida, United States. It is a tributary of the Indian River, with its mouth in the vicinity of Front Street.

The 1900 Building is a historic U.S. building located at 1900 South Harbor City Boulevard, Melbourne, Florida. This three story building was constructed in 1924 and originally opened as the Melbourne Hotel. The building housed several businesses through the years, including a bank, specialty stores and professional offices. The building has seen significant architectural changes over the years, with the reconstruction of the corner tower, elimination of the original windows, reconstruction of the covered walkways, and elimination of the dome atop the tower. The building received its current name from its address -- "1900" South Harbour City Boulevard.

The Nannie Lee House, often referred to as Strawberry Mansion, is a historic U.S. home located at 1218 East New Haven Avenue, Melbourne, Florida. John B. Lee and his wife Nannie McBride Lee from Albion, New York built the house in 1905. Lily Tidwell, adopted granddaughter of Nannie Lee, inherited the house in 1929, and her family lived there for many years. The house served as a restaurant called The Strawberry Mansion from 1981 until 2007. The house and attached buildings were sold in 2010. DiGiacinto purchased the property and changed it to a food business called "The Mansion of Melbourne" in 2011.Local urban legend alleges the house as haunted with vague reports of paranormal activity, but no concrete documentation supports the claim.

The Charles and Ruth Clemente Center for Sports and Recreation, also known as the Clemente Center, is a 3,500-seat indoor sports arena located in Melbourne, Florida. It is the home of the Florida Tech Panthers basketball and volleyball teams. The arena is also used for concerts, trade shows, conventions, graduation ceremonies and other special events. In addition to the main arena, the Clemente Center also features an intramural gymnasium, two fitness centers, a multipurpose room, and a food court known as Center Court. An "air wall" separates the main arena from the intramural gymnasium and is removable for events requiring a large seating capacity. Clemente Center is also home to the administrative offices for Florida Tech's athletic department. The 58,000-square-foot facility is named not for baseball player Roberto Clemente, but rather for Charles and Ruth Clemente, who donated some of the funding for the arena.

The Florida Institute of Technology (Florida Tech or FIT) is a private research university in Melbourne, Florida. The university comprises four academic colleges: Engineering & Science, Aeronautics, Psychology & Liberal Arts, and Business. Approximately half of FIT's students are enrolled in the College of Engineering & Science. The university's 130-acre primary residential campus is near the Melbourne Orlando International Airport and the Florida Tech Research Park. The campus is located 16 miles from Patrick Space Force Base.The university was founded in 1958 as Brevard Engineering College to provide advanced education for professionals working in the U.S. space program at the Kennedy Space Center and Space Launch Delta 45 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. Since 1966, when it combined the Institute of Technology (FIT) following University of Central Florida's name change, FIT has gone by its current name Florida Tech. In 2021, Florida Tech had an on-campus student body of 5,693 between its Melbourne Campus, Melbourne Sites, and Education Centers, as well as 3,623 students enrolled in their online programs, almost equally divided between graduate and undergraduate students with the majority focusing their studies on engineering and the sciences. Florida Tech is classified among "R2: Doctoral Universities – High research activity".

Palm Bay Magnet High School is a public high school located in Melbourne, Florida, 2,000 feet (610 m) north of the boundary of Palm Bay, Florida. It is part of the Brevard County School District.

The Florida Power and Light Company Ice Plant (also known as the City Products Corporation Ice Plant or locally as the Ice Plant) is a historic site in Melbourne, Florida, United States. It is located at 1604 South Harbor City Boulevard. On November 17, 1982, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Construction on the plant began in December 1926 after the approval of a permit; it was completed in the spring of 1927. The original estimated cost was $30,000, but the final construction cost has been listed at $100,000. The plant, which had an ice capacity of 50 tons at its peak, ceased operation in 1977.At various times, proposals have been made to redevelop the building as a restaurant, offices, or residential space.

Florida Tech Panther Stadium is an American football stadium located in Melbourne, Florida. The facility served as the home field for the NCAA Division II Florida Tech Panthers football team representing the Florida Institute of Technology, and is the home field for the Palm Bay Magnet High School Pirates football team. Prior to July 2015, the facility was known as Pirate Stadium before Florida Tech purchased naming rights for the stadium.
