Füssen-Plansee work camp

Plansee is a lake in Reutte District, Tyrol, Austria, located at 47°28′10″N 10°48′20″E. Its surface is approximately 2.87 km² and its maximum depth is 78 metres. It lies on Austrian Federal Highway B 179, which crosses the Ammersattel into Germany.

The Geierköpfe form a triple-summited mountain massif in the Ammergau Alps in Tyrol, Austria. The main summit is 2,161 m (AA) high, the West Top 2,143 m high and the East Top 2,060 m. The summit group is located southwest of the Ammer Saddle. The West Top can be climbed either from the Plansee lake or from a small car park on the road linking the Plansee via the Ammer Saddle to Schloss Linderhof (ca. 2 km south of Hotel Ammerwald on the bridge over the Teufelsbach) in about 3½ hours. This is an easy mountain tour; only at a few places just below the summit is there a requirement to use hands as well as feet. The crossing from West Top to the main summit is rather more challenging and requires sure-footedness and a head for heights. The arête walk from the main summit to the East Top requires sure-footed negotiation of schrofen terrain and, at one spot, climbing to grade II standard and is only recommended for experienced mountaineers. The West Top can also be ascended from the Ammer Saddle as an interesting ski tour. Because of the dense belt of mountain pine, however, a high level of snow is needed. The descent from the gully at the exit to the cirque on the north side is sometimes rather tricky. If there is little snow (when it is very steep) or the snow is hard, ice picks and crampons are recommended.

Hochplatte is a mountain of Bavaria, Germany. Standing at an elevation of 2082 meters, is a mountain within the Ammergau Alps and holds the distinction of being the highest point in the Ostallgäu district. The mountain is also referred to as the Ammergauer Hochplatte to differentiate it from other mountains sharing the same name in the Northern Limestone Alps. It is a striking rocky plateau composed of Wetterstein limestone, rising prominently, towering above its surroundings. The mountain features two peaks situated approximately 200 meters apart. The eastern summit, is slightly lower at 2079 meters, adorned with a summit cross. Renowned for its panoramic vistas and exposed location, the Hochplatte serves as a favored destination for hiking and ski touring enthusiasts.

The Ammergau Alps (German: Ammergauer Alpen or Ammergebirge) are a mountain range in the Northern Limestone Alps in the states of Bavaria (Germany) and Tyrol (Austria). They cover an area of about 30 x 30 km and begin at the outer edge of the Alps. The highest summit is the Daniel which has a height of 2,340 metres (7,680 ft).

The Daniel (2,340 m) is a mountain in the Austrian state of Tyrol, and the highest peak in the Ammergau Alps, a range within the Northern Limestone Alps . Located near the villages of Ehrwald and Lermoos, it is a popular mountain with hikers. Its North Face is around 200 metres high and its South Face has a more schrofen-like character. With the almost equally high Upsspitze (2,332 m) it forms a double summit. To the northwest is a neighbouring peak, the Hochschrutte (2,247 m).

Tegelberg is a mountain of Bavaria, Germany. It is a part of the Ammergau Alps. The nearest town is Füssen. Neuschwanstein Castle and Hohenschwangau Castle are about 2 km away. The Tegelberg has been a hang gliding area since the 1970s and a paragliding area since this adventure sport became popular in Germany. The FAI Hanggliding World Championship 1983 took place there.

Plansee SE is a manufacturer of products made out of refractory metals based in Reutte, Austria. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Plansee Group. The privately owned company was founded in 1921 by Paul Schwarzkopf and produces powder-metallurgical high-performance materials (HPM) made from metals such as molybdenum, tungsten, tantalum, niobium and chromium and their alloys. Applications include the electronics, automotive and lighting industries, medical and coating technology, energy transmission and distribution, and plant and furnace construction.

Lermoos is a municipality in the district of Reutte in the Austrian state of Tyrol. It consists of two subdivisions: Unterdorf and Oberdorf. Lermoos is most popular for its skiing and snowboarding in the winter and is very popular resort in the Zugspitze Arena. The town has many hotels. The village is set looking towards the Zugspitze (the highest mountain in Germany) and the Sonnenspitze. The town also has restaurants such as the Bauernstube, Jones Dorfstuberl, Cafe Franco, Cafe Sam and many more. There is good public transport to Lermoos and buses for skiers running around the resorts. There is also a train station (DB Regio) to connect to larger towns e.g. Garmisch Partenkirchen and Reutte. Mentions of Lermoos date as far back as 1073, but may be older do to the presence of an ancient Roman road, the Via Claudia.
