Fred Anderson Field at Hornet Stadium is a 21,195-seat college football and track stadium in the western United States, on the campus of California State University, Sacramento (Sacramento State). it is the home field of the Sacramento State Hornets of the Big Sky Conference. Opened 53 years ago on September 20, 1969, it has also been the home stadium of the Sacramento Surge of the WLAF, the Sacramento Gold Miners of the Canadian Football League and the Sacramento Mountain Lions of the United Football League. It hosted the U.S. Olympic Trials for track and field in 2000 and 2004. Its alignment is nearly north-south, offset slightly northwest, and the street-level elevation is approximately 35 feet (11 m) above sea level. The field was natural grass for its first 41 seasons; FieldTurf was installed in 2010.

Sacramento State University Library is the central library for the campus of California State University, Sacramento. With over 1.4 million volumes, it is the third largest library in the California State University. It is part of the California State Depository Library Program. The library features 79 private study rooms, 4 meeting rooms, and 14 instructional classrooms. The library houses 200 public access research computer stations, 120 faculty/staff personal computers, and 5 computer classrooms ranging in capacities of 40 to 100. There are currently 27 full-time librarians and 34 library assistants. The library also features a number of group study rooms, individualized private rooms for graduate students, and individual study lounges.

John Smith Field, originally known as Hornet Field, is a baseball venue in Sacramento, the capital city of the U.S. state of California. It is home to the Sacramento State Hornets college baseball team. Opened in 1953, it has a capacity of 1,200 fans. The facility is named for former Sacramento State baseball coach John Smith, who coached the program for 32 seasons. The park was dedicated in 2010, after Smith's retirement following the 2010 season.

California State University, Sacramento (CSUS, Sacramento State, or informally Sac State) is a public university in Sacramento, California. Founded in 1947 as Sacramento State College, it is the eleventh oldest institution in the California State University system. The university enrolls approximately 31,500 students annually, 31,573 in Fall 2021. It also has an alumni base of more than 250,000 and awards 9,000 degrees annually. The university offers 151 different bachelor's degrees, 69 master's degrees, 28 types of teaching credentials, and 5 doctoral degrees.The campus sits on 305 acres (123 ha), covered with over 3,500 trees and over 1,200 resting in the University Arboretum. The university is home to one site of the National Register of Historic Places, the Julia Morgan House. The Arbor Day Foundation officially declared the university "Tree Campus USA" in 2012. Sacramento State is an Hispanic-serving institution (HSI) and is eligible to be designated as an Asian American Native American Pacific Islander serving institution (AANAPISI).

University/65th Street is a side platformed Sacramento RT light rail station in Sacramento, California, United States. The station was opened on September 5, 1987, is operated by the Sacramento Regional Transit District and is the closest station to California State University, Sacramento. It is served by the Gold Line. The station is located at 65th Street and Folsom Boulevard. This light rail station is also the first in the Sacramento area to have transit-oriented development constructed surrounding it. The F65 (Folsom Boulevard & 65th street) project includes townhouses and condos. The Upper Eastside Lofts are the newest "dormitories" at the nearby Sacramento State University. Places to eat that are directly connected to the station include Dos Coyotes, Jamba Juice, and Starbucks. Since September 12, 2013, Megabus offers service from the University/65th Street station to San Francisco. Megabus service used to continue on to Reno and Sparks, NV; this service ended in late 2017.

E.A Fairbairn Water Treatment Plant is a water treatment plant located next to the California State University, Sacramento campus. This water treatment plant, along with Sacramento River Water Treatment Plant on Sacramento River, provide approximately eighty five percent of Sacramento's drinking water. This treatment plant was recently renovated and completed in February 2019.

The Guy West Bridge is a suspension bridge for pedestrian and bicycle traffic spanning the American River in Sacramento in Sacramento County, California, linking the campus of California State University, Sacramento with the neighboring Campus Commons development. It was designed to resemble the Golden Gate Bridge, both in form and signature international orange color.

The Hornets Nest is a 1,012-seat multi-purpose gymnasium at California State University, Sacramento (Sacramento State) in Sacramento, California. The arena opened in 1955, and is one of the oldest in D-I sports. It is home to the Sacramento State Hornets men's basketball, women's basketball, and women's volleyball teams. In 2008, Sacramento State named the floor Colberg Court, in honor of 32-year volleyball head coach Debby Colberg, who retired after the 2007 season. The coach with the most career victories in any sport at Sacramento State, Colberg posted an 828–292 record, garnered two national titles and posted winning volleyball seasons in 30 of her 32 years as head coach.

St. Francis Catholic High School is a four-year, all-female college preparatory high school in Sacramento, California, United States. It is one of four Catholic high schools in Sacramento affiliated with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Sacramento, and draws students from over fifty private and public feeder schools in the California counties of Sacramento, Yolo, El Dorado and Placer. The school was established in 1940. During the 2003–2004 school year, St. Francis completed the first phase of its campus renovation and expansion that doubled the size of its facilities. These new buildings include The Fine and Performing Arts Complex, Library/Resource Center, Gymnasium/Fitness Complex, four science labs, the Administration Building, and the Carlsen and Demetre Center for Campus Life (CLC).

The SMUD Headquarters Building is the Sacramento Municipal Utility District headquarters. It is located at 6201 S Street in Sacramento, California.

The University Arboretum is the arboretum and botanic garden of the California State University, Sacramento at 6000 J Street, Sacramento, California, at J Street and Carlson Drive.Founded in 1945 on what used to be a pear orchard and hop ranch, the arboretum was originally named the Charles M. Goethe Arboretum in honor of Charles Goethe (1875–1966, pronounced "geh-teh"), a land developer, philanthropist, conservationist, eugenicist, and one of the university's founding fathers. "The name was changed without fanfare to University Arboretum in 2005" because of renewed attention to Goethe's virulently racist views, praise of Nazi Germany, and advocacy of eugenics.Located on a 3-acre (12,000-sq m) site, the arboretum is open daily from dawn to dusk and has some 1200 trees. Of particular interest is a wide-ranging conifer collection as well as several rare plants, including Taiwania and the "living fossil" Wollemia. The arboretum has a "Jurassic Park" section with flowering plants species dating back to the age of dinosaurs and another section for California native plants, with some 50 different species represented.Mike Baad, a retired professor who volunteered at the arboretum since he joined the university in 1969, is the University Arboretum's longtime director.
