Cardiff School of Engineering is part of Cardiff University’s College of Physical Sciences. The School is located in Queen's Buildings on The Parade, which was built in 1921 to 1926 to a design by J. B. Fletcher.Cardiff School of Engineering has approximately 1,600 undergraduate and postgraduate students and employs around 300 academic, research, technical and administrative staff. The School offers taught undergraduate and postgraduate degrees (BEng, MEng, and MSc) and postgraduate research degrees (PhD) in a range of engineering subjects, as well as being involved in a number of community, commercial and industrial partnerships. The school hosts academic conferences and is involved in large scale research and engineering projects, particularly in the field of renewable energy such as wind turbines power grid efficiency and tidal power generation. Other topics under research include traditional engineering studies such as metal fatigue and waste disposal engineering as well as new fields of study such as carbon management in energy production.

National Theatre Wales (NTW) is a theatre company known for its large-scale site-specific productions and its grassroots work with diverse Welsh communities. It is the English-language national theatre of Wales, and refers to Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru, the Welsh-language national theatre of Wales founded in 2003, as its sister company.NTW's current artistic director is Lorne Campbell, and its executive producer is Lisa Maguire. Its previous artistic directors are John E. McGrath and Kully Thiarai.

Kings Monkton School, formerly Monkton House, is an independent day school for boys and girls aged 3–18. It is located in Roath, Cardiff near the city's Mansion House and Cardiff University. The school was founded in 1870 and more recently has been owned by CfBT Education Trust and since April 2013 by Heathfield Independent Schools. The school was then bought out and turned into an independent limited company by the Principal in 2018/19.

City United Reformed Church is a Grade II*-listed building located in Windsor Place, Cardiff. Originally constructed in 1866, it was listed in 1975.The church was designed in a Neogothic style by the Scottish architect Frederick Thomas Pilkington, and originally belonged to the Presbyterian denomination. The same architect was also responsible for Barclay Viewforth Church in Edinburgh. Pilkington made a point of using local materials and created a gabled roof with an octagonal spire. In 1893, the west front was redesigned by another architect, E. M. Bruce Vaughan, who built a new porch. After a fire in 1910, Vaughan added a new hammerbeam roof.In 1972, when the United Reformed Church was created by a merger of the Congregational Church in England and Wales and the Presbyterian Church of England, City URC became part of the Province of Wales within the new denomination.

The Mansion House (Welsh: Y Plasty), located on Richmond Road, was the official residence of the Lord Mayor of Cardiff until 1971. It was designed in 1896 by the architects Habershon & Fawckner for James Howell, the owner of Howells department store. It was originally called 'The Grove'.James Howell was a Cardiff businessman who opened his first shop in 1865. In 1890 he made arrangements to build a property on land leased from Lord Tredegar. The plans were for a large family home, to house his 11 children. An unusual aspect of the house is that it was designed to be able to be divided into two: it has two front doors and a wall in the cellar was designed allow extension upwards. The house was bought by the Cardiff Corporation in 1913. It has been listed Grade II by Cadw since May 2002.The Mansion House was used as the home of the Lord Mayors of Cardiff until 1971. It has two apartments on the first floor and was also used by judges sitting in the city. The building had a major overhaul in 1998, for the Cardiff European Council summit held on 15 and 16 June 1998. It was then used by Cardiff Council for events, functions, civil ceremonies and weddings. It was also the base for the council's protocol team.

Capitol Theatre was a cinema and concert venue located in Cardiff, Wales, which featured a 3,158-seat auditorium was purpose built entertainment venue, which closed for business on 21 January 1978. Not only did it hold an auditorium, but also a ballroom, three restaurants, a bar, a banqueting hall and a games hall.

Cardiff Queen Street railway station (Welsh: Caerdydd Heol y Frenhines) is a railway station serving the north and east of Central Cardiff, Wales. It is the third busiest railway station in Wales, being located near Queen Street, it is one of 20 stations in the city. It is, along with Cardiff Central, one of the two major hubs of the Valleys & Cardiff Local Routes local rail network. The station, and all of its services are run by Transport for Wales. In 2014, a reconstruction of the station was completed in order to reduce bottlenecks, with two extra platforms being put in (a previously existing platform, opposite platform 4, and a new bay platform next to platform 2 for the line to Cardiff Bay), taking the total number of platforms to 5

Capitol Centre (Welsh: Canolfan Capitol) (previously: Capitol Exchange Centre (Welsh: Canolfan cyfnewid Capitol)) is an indoor shopping centre in the city of Cardiff, Wales. Functioning as one of the city's retail malls, The building is built on the site of the former Capitol Theatre, and is situated at the eastern end of Queen Street near the Dumfries Place bus terminus and Cardiff Queen Street railway station. It was anchored by a large H&M store, with the front of the centre being dominated by Tesco since Virgin Megastores and Zavvi ceased operations in 2009.

Tredegarville was the name given to an upper class area of streets and villas in Cardiff, Wales, developed during the second half of the 19th century. The area is now part of Roath.

Helmont House is a high-rise hotel and office building in Cardiff, Wales. Completed in 1984, the 58-metre-high (190 ft) building has 12 floors and is the 15th-tallest building in Cardiff. The building was renovated in 2009 into a 200-room Premier Inn hotel. The building was previously occupied by British Gas and was one of the largest office buildings in Cardiff, and is yards away from Cardiff Queen Street railway station.

Cardiff Sixth Form College, abbreviated to CSFC, is an independent mixed education sixth form college in Cardiff, Wales for 15- to 19-year-olds. The college is owned by Dukes Education.
