Capitol Centre, Cardiff

Capitol Theatre was a cinema and concert venue located in Cardiff, Wales, which featured a 3,158-seat auditorium was purpose built entertainment venue, which closed for business on 21 January 1978. Not only did it hold an auditorium, but also a ballroom, three restaurants, a bar, a banqueting hall and a games hall.

National Theatre Wales (NTW) is a theatre company known for its large-scale site-specific productions and its grassroots work with diverse Welsh communities. It is the English-language national theatre of Wales, and refers to Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru, the Welsh-language national theatre of Wales founded in 2003, as its sister company.NTW's current artistic director is Lorne Campbell, and its executive producer is Lisa Maguire. Its previous artistic directors are John E. McGrath and Kully Thiarai.

Helmont House is a high-rise hotel and office building in Cardiff, Wales. Completed in 1984, the 58-metre-high (190 ft) building has 12 floors and is the 15th-tallest building in Cardiff. The building was renovated in 2009 into a 200-room Premier Inn hotel. The building was previously occupied by British Gas and was one of the largest office buildings in Cardiff, and is yards away from Cardiff Queen Street railway station.

City United Reformed Church is a Grade II*-listed building located in Windsor Place, Cardiff. Originally constructed in 1866, it was listed in 1975.The church was designed in a Neogothic style by the Scottish architect Frederick Thomas Pilkington, and originally belonged to the Presbyterian denomination. The same architect was also responsible for Barclay Viewforth Church in Edinburgh. Pilkington made a point of using local materials and created a gabled roof with an octagonal spire. In 1893, the west front was redesigned by another architect, E. M. Bruce Vaughan, who built a new porch. After a fire in 1910, Vaughan added a new hammerbeam roof.In 1972, when the United Reformed Church was created by a merger of the Congregational Church in England and Wales and the Presbyterian Church of England, City URC became part of the Province of Wales within the new denomination.

Cardiff Queen Street railway station (Welsh: Caerdydd Heol y Frenhines) is a railway station serving the north and east of Central Cardiff, Wales. It is the third busiest railway station in Wales, being located near Queen Street, it is one of 20 stations in the city. It is, along with Cardiff Central, one of the two major hubs of the Valleys & Cardiff Local Routes local rail network. The station, and all of its services are run by Transport for Wales. In 2014, a reconstruction of the station was completed in order to reduce bottlenecks, with two extra platforms being put in (a previously existing platform, opposite platform 4, and a new bay platform next to platform 2 for the line to Cardiff Bay), taking the total number of platforms to 5

Bridge Street Exchange is a 26-storey high-rise building in Cardiff, Wales, with conjoining 11 and 5-storey blocks. At 85 m (279 ft) in height, it is the tallest building in Cardiff, and is a mixed-use development accommodating approximately 477 students with retail units on the ground floor. It is located on the eastern corner of the junction between Bridge Street and Charles Street.

The Metropolitan Cathedral Church of St David, also known as St David's Cathedral, Cardiff, is a Roman Catholic Cathedral in the city centre of Cardiff, Wales and is the centre of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cardiff. Located in Charles Street, the Cathedral remains the focal point for Catholic life in Cardiff, and the country as a whole. It is one of only three Roman Catholic Cathedrals in the UK that is associated with a choir school.

Cardiff Crockherbtown was a railway station in the area then known as Crockherbtown in central Cardiff, and was the main Cardiff station of the Rhymney Railway. It was opened on 1 April 1871 when the Rhymney Railway opened its own route into Cardiff from Caerphilly, it replaced the nearby Adam Street station, and consisted of two through platforms and a bay. The station was built a short distance north-east of Cardiff Queen Street station of the Taff Vale Railway. In 1888 the station was renamed Cardiff (Rhymney). Passenger returns from 1920 show that 800,000 passengers were using the station per annum. In 1922, the Rhymney Railway and Taff Vale Railways became part of the Great Western Railway (GWR), and in 1924 the station was renamed again to Cardiff Parade.As both the Rhymney and Taff Vale companies were under unified ownership and there was no longer any rivalry, or need for two stations in close proximity, on 15 April 1928 the GWR opened a new connection south of the station connecting the Rhymney Railway to the former Taff Vale Railway, this allowed Parade station to be closed, and all of its services diverted into an enlarged Cardiff Queen Street station. The final remains of Parade station were demolished in 1989.

The Guildford Crescent Baths, originally known as the Corporation Baths, was a public swimming pool building in the centre of Cardiff, Wales. It was demolished in 1985.

Park House (Welsh: Tŷ Parc), (formerly McConnochie House), 20 Park Place, Cardiff, Wales, is a nineteenth century town house. It was built for John McConnochie, Chief Engineer to the Bute Docks, by the Gothic revivalist architect William Burges. It is a Grade I listed building. The architectural historian John Newman writes that the architectural style of the house "revolutionized Cardiff's domestic architecture," and Cadw considers the building "perhaps the most important 19th century house in Wales."

Cardiff City Centre (Welsh: Canol Dinas Caerdydd) is the city centre and central business district of Cardiff, Wales. The area is tightly bound by the River Taff to the west, the Civic Centre to the north and railway lines and two railway stations – Central and Queen Street – to the south and east respectively. Cardiff became a city in 1905. The city centre in Cardiff consists of principal shopping streets: Queen Street, St. Mary's Street and the Hayes, as well as large shopping centres, and numerous arcades and lanes that house some smaller, specialized shops and boutiques. The city centre has undergone a number of redevelopment projects, including St. David's 2, which extended the shopping district southwards, creating 100 new stores and a flagship John Lewis, the only branch in Wales and the largest outside London. Compared to nearby cities, the new St David's Centre has more retail space than the whole of Newport or Swansea.In 2008–9, the annual footfall of shoppers was 55 million, and is expected to have risen to 66 million by 2009–10. Cardiff is the sixth most successful shopping destination in the United Kingdom – behind London, Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool.

Cardiff International Arena (currently known as the Motorpoint Arena Cardiff for sponsorship reasons and formerly known as Cardiff International Arena & Convention Centre) is an indoor exhibition centre and events arena located in Cardiff, Wales, and was opened on 10 September 1993 by singer Shirley Bassey. Its current name is due to a five-year sponsorship agreement. It is Cardiff's largest purpose-built exhibition facility. The upstairs of the building is known as the World Trade Centre.
