Orwell Park School

Nacton is a village and civil parish in the East Suffolk district of Suffolk, England. The parish is bounded by the neighbouring parishes of Levington to the east and Bucklesham in the north. It is located between the towns of Ipswich and Felixstowe. Nacton abuts the River Orwell opposite the village of Pin Mill. Riverside features covered by this parish are (from east to west) Buttermans Bay, Potter's Point, Downham Reach, Mulberry Middle and Pond Oose. Nacton parish is the mother for the villages of Levington and Bucklesham and was sufficiently large to have a workhouse, on the remains of which a substantial house was built. This was used by Amberfield School as its main building until it closed in 2011. The more adventurous explorer can find the old burial ground opposite the entrance to a lane leading down to the school. The site of Alnesbourne Priory is close to Nacton.The village contains one of the few remaining active wildfowl decoys left in East Anglia.

Orwell Estuary is a 1,335.7 hectare biological Site of Special Scientific Interest which stretches along the River Orwell and its banks between Felixstowe and Ipswich in Suffolk. It is part of the Stour and Orwell Estuaries Ramsar site internationally important wetland site and Special Protection Area under the European Union Directive on the Conservation of Wild Birds. It is also in the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.The estuary is described by Natural England as of national importance for its breeding avocets, its other breeding and wintering birds, its vascular plants and its intertidal mud habitats. It also has a rich and diverse assemblage of invertebrates and a nationally important community of algae.

Broke Hall is an English country house at Nacton, near Ipswich, Suffolk. It overlooks the River Orwell, opposite Pin Mill. The gardens were landscaped by Humphry Repton in 1794, and the house is Grade II* listed.The site was purchased by Sir Richard Broke, who built a manor house there, during the reign of Henry VIII. The present house was built by James Wyatt for Philip Bowes Broke in 1792, but is probably a remodelling of an earlier house built in 1775 by Richard Norris.Broke Hall was the birthplace of Admiral Philip Bowes Vere Broke.The property remained in the Broke family until 1887, when on the death of Admiral Sir George Broke-Middleton, it was inherited by his niece, Lady de Saumarez, formerly Jane Anne Broke, the wife of James Saumarez, 4th Baron de Saumarez, thus passing into the Saumarez family.A primary school in Ipswich is named after the hall.

Amberfield School was a small private school in Nacton, England, coeducational up to the age of 7 years, and for girls up to the age of 16 years, which was established in 1927 and closed in 2011 due to financial problems. The last headmistress was Linda Ingram. It was set in countryside with surrounding fields and wildlife. It won the Lego League Robotics UK Championships and the World Primary Robot Dance Championship held in Suzhou, China as part of RoboCup Junior in 2008. The school occupied the site of Nacton Workhouse, near woodland where the body of one of the victims of the Ipswich 2006 serial murders, was found. The school was a member of the Girls' Schools Association.

Orwell railway station was on the Felixstowe Branch Line near the small village of Nacton, Suffolk, England. It was situated between Derby Road and Trimley stations and was opened in 1877 but was closed in 1959 to allow an acceleration of the service to the remaining stations. The former station building is now a private residence near to the modern Seven Hills crematorium.

Pin Mill is a hamlet on the south bank of the tidal River Orwell, on the outskirts of the village of Chelmondiston, on the Shotley peninsula in southern Suffolk. It lies within the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is a designated Conservation Area. It is now generally known for the historic Butt and Oyster public house, and for sailing.

Nacton Meadows is a 4.5-hectare (11-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest north-west of Levington in Suffolk. It is in the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural BeautyThis site has fen meadow and grasslands. Wetter areas have more diverse flora, including Yorkshire-fog, crested dog's tail, sharp-flowered rush, greater bird's-foot-trefoil and the uncommon marsh arrowgrass.A public footpath from Levington goes through the site.

Levington is a small village in the county of Suffolk, England in the East Suffolk district. The population of the parish including Stratton Hall at the 2011 Census was 259.

Ransomes Industrial Estate, also known as Ransomes Europark is combined retail and business park located in Priory Heath Ward, Ipswich, on the southeastern edge of Ipswich in Suffolk, UK. It takes its name from Ransomes, Sims & Jefferies, which still maintains a presence on the park. Predominantly the park consists of light industrial and logistics companies, although there is a growing number of retailers and offices including the head office for KDM International and MSC UK. In February 2008 it was announced that IKEA are in talks to take on part of the estate occupied by Crane Fluid Systems for a new store.

Foxhall is a civil parish in the East Suffolk district of Suffolk, England a few miles east of Ipswich. It is adjacent to the parishes of Kesgrave to the north, Martlesham to the northeast, Brightwell to the east, Purdis Farm to the south and the borough of Ipswich to the west. The three parishes of Brightwell, Foxhall and Purdis Farm have a common council. The 2001 population was 151 persons in 57 households according to the census, the population having increased at the 2011 Census to 200.Foxhall was recorded in the Domesday Book as "Foxehola". The history and meaning ('fox-hole') of the name Foxhall and many other place-names in the parish are studied in a paper by Briggs. The survey mentions 1 holding under Foxhall: 15 acres valued at 2 shillings held by the Abbot of Ely. Under the heading of "Derneford", "which is no doubt Darnford in Foxhall, there was 80 acres and 2 acres of meadow, 3 bordars in Saxon times having 4 ploughteams when it was valued at 40 shillings, but at the time of the survey 3 ploughteams only, when it was valued at 15 shillings." On the heath are several springs which give rise to the Mill River, a tributary of the River Deben. All Saints Church stood north of Mill River; it was in ruins by the mid-16th century. Much of this church building survives; the north wall is mainly intact and can still be seen put to a new use as part of the barn of Foxhall Farm. It stands at the top of a slope overlooking one of the backroads that link Foxhall Road with Bucklesham Road. Two enormous buttresses give the game away, as well as an expanse of flint amongst the red-brick. In 1530, Foxhall became an ecclesiastical hamlet to Brightwell. Despite its name the Foxhall Stadium, the home stadium of the Ipswich Witches speedway team, is actually just across the parish boundary in Kesgrave. The stadium is run by Spedeworth UK Ltd stock car promoters. More recently the banger racing Unlimited World Final has been staged here since its move from the Plough Lane venue in London. The World Final was first held at Foxhall in 2008 and proved to be a successful event. The World Final is predicted to stay at Foxhall due to the LEZ emission laws enforced in and around London making it difficult for many racers to transport their cars to the track. The stadium opened in the mid-1950s and has been in continuous operation since. Within the parish is the Nuffield Ipswich Hospital, a modern purpose-built hospital set in twenty acres of woodland. The village once had its own beer house (brewery with pub attached) called the Waddling Duck, long since demolished.There is a caravan site at Hollies Farm. Foxhall is commonly thought of as a village because of its history and because many relatively modern houses have been built along the part of Bucklesham Road that lies in the parish. However, it is just an area with a few houses bearing the name 'Foxhall'.

Chelmondiston is a small village and civil parish in Suffolk, England located on the Shotley Peninsula, five miles south-east of Ipswich. The hamlet of Pin Mill lies within the parish on the south bank of the River Orwell. The village comprises approximately 500 dwellings and has a population of just over 1,000. It is one of the largest villages situated on the Shotley Peninsula.

Purdis Farm is a civil parish, in the East Suffolk district, in the English county of Suffolk. It is located on the eastern edge of Ipswich and includes areas of suburban housing and industrial development along the A1156, including the area of Warren Heath. In 2001 the population of the area was 1743, the population increasing to 2,092 at the 2011 Census.The Suffolk County Showground is located within the parish at Trinity Park, as are areas of farmland, part of Ipswich Golf Club and open areas such as part of Bixley Heath, a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The Suffolk Sandlings Walk passes through the area.
