Blackbird State Forest

Blackbird is an unincorporated community in New Castle County, Delaware, United States. Blackbird is located at the intersection of U.S. Route 13 and Blackbird Station Road, southeast of Townsend. The Blackbird State Forest is nearby.The community was originally a stagecoach stop along the King's Highway and was settled around a mill at the head of the Blackbird Creek. The name is believed to have originally been Blackbeard after the pirate Blackbeard, who, according to tradition, used the lower part of the Blackbird Creek as a harbor and stored booty along its banks.

It was built in 1847, and is a two-story, brick meeting house measuring 40 feet by 60 feet. It is surrounded by a cemetery. The congregation was organized in 1789. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

The house dates to about 1855, and is a two-story, three-bay, side hall plan frame dwelling in the Greek Revival style. It has a long and low rear wing with a porch. Both sections have gable roofs. Also on the property are a contributing barn with stable, a frame milk house, and a privy.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. The house was demolished between 1992 and 2002, and the milk house between 2002 and 2006.

Robert Hill House, also known as "Alley," was a historic home located at Kenton, Kent County, Delaware. The house dated to the last decade of the 18th century, and was a two-story, three-bay, side hall plan brick dwelling in the Federal style. It had a gable roof and the front facade features a simple entrance portico. The rear wing was extended in the late-19th century with the addition of a frame wing.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. The house was demolished between 2009 and 2011.

William Stevens House, also known as Peach Mansion, is a historic home located at Kenton, Kent County, Delaware. The house was erected about 1860, and is a three-story, five-bay, single pile frame dwelling in the Italianate style. It has a low hipped roof and a projecting box cornice with decorative brackets. The original house, built about 1811, forms the gable-roofed, three-bay, two-story, rear wing. Also on the property is a contributing 19th century springhouse.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. It was demolished in a controlled burn in February 2001.
