Annscroft is a small village in Shropshire, England. It is located on the Shrewsbury to Longden road, approximately 4 miles from Shrewsbury, with nearby hamlets Arscott and Hook-a-Gate. The village is a linear settlement, laid along the one road, and is in the civil parish of Longden. Many of the houses were 'squatter cottages' built in the 19th century to house miners working in the local collieries, which closed by 1940.There is a church at the village's north-east end: Christ Church (C of E) was built in 1868–69, by Shrewsbury architect John Laurence Randall at a cost of £1,400, raised by subscription. It is of rubble-stone with sandstone dressings, in Early English style. The church contains three war memorials: a brass plaque on the south wall of the nave in memory of Trooper William Hulston who was killed in the Boer War of 1899-1902, a marble plaque in the chancel to 18 men who died through serving in World War I and an electric blower organ with plaque to 9 men who died as a result of World War II. The churchyard contains Commonwealth war graves of a Royal Welsh Fusiliers soldier of World War I and a Royal Air Force airman of World War II.Half a mile north-west of the village is Moat Hall, a disguised timber-framed house built for the Berington family in about 1600, jetty underbuilt in brick. It gave its name to the Moat Hall Colliery, the largest mine in the vicinity, which was merged under one company with the colliery at Hanwood in 1921 and where coal ceased to be lifted in 1931.The village is home to bus and coach operator Minsterley Motors, South Shropshire Hunt Kennels, Stoneyford Riding School and The Farriers Business Park.

Shrewsbury and Atcham is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2005 by Daniel Kawczynski, a Conservative.Under the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies, the constituency will only be subject to minor boundary changes, but is revert to the name of Shrewsbury - dropping the "and Atcham" to reflect the abolition in 2009 of the Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough Council. It will be first contested at the next general election.

Radbrook Green, usually known locally as simply Radbrook, is the name of a small suburb of Shrewsbury, situated to the south-west of the town, approximately 1.5 miles from the town centre. Construction of the estate started in the late 1970s, with most of the estate completed by the early 1990s. The population of the Shrewsbury Ward at the 2011 census was 3,979. It is a private housing estate, predominantly seen as a middle class area of the town. the northern part of the estate is often referred to as 'Collegefields' (as houses in this area were built on fields of the nearby Shrewsbury College)

The A5 Shrewsbury by-pass cuts through the area. To the north is the Shrewsbury suburb of Meole Brace.

Bayston Hill is a village and civil parish in Shropshire, England. It is 3 miles (5 km) south of the county town Shrewsbury and located on the main A49 road, the Shrewsbury to Hereford road. Occupied continuously since before the Middle Ages, the village had a population of 5,079 residents in 2,172 households in the 2011 census. Bayston Hill has three public houses, two built churches (Church of England and Methodist), one primary school called Oakmeadow, and a public library. Lyth Hill lies to the south of the village.

Meole Brace School is a coeducational secondary school in the suburb of Meole Brace, Shrewsbury, England. It is one of two state-funded secondary schools in South Shrewsbury and serves a wide catchment area which includes Meole Brace, areas of Belle Vue and Radbrook, as well as Bayston Hill and some rural settlements south of Shrewsbury.It previously held Science College specialist status and was awarded the Sportsmark by the Sports Council. Ofsted rated the school "Good" in 2015, paying special attention to the above average results in Religious Studies, Geography, Drama and Modern Foreign Languages at GCSE level. The school also has Ofsted "Good" ratings in every category.Previously a community school administered by Shropshire Council, in January 2019 Meole Brace School converted to academy status. The school is now sponsored by the Central Shropshire Academy Trust. As Meole Brace School does not have a sixth form, students transfer to Shrewsbury Sixth Form College, Shrewsbury College or a private school. Still, Meole Brace - sometimes abbreviated to MBS - is the largest secondary school within Shrewsbury.
