Kalamalka Lake (a.k.a. "Kal Lake") is a large lake in the interior plateau of southern central British Columbia, Canada, east of Okanagan Lake. The lake is located approximately 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) south of the city of Vernon and is its main drinking water supply. The lake is named after the Okanagan (Okanogan U.S. spelling) First Nation chief who occupied its northern shores. At different times of the year the colour of the lake can range from cyan to indigo, in different parts at the same time, earning the lake the moniker "lake of a thousand colours". The colour of the water is derived from light scattering, caused by the precipitation of calcium carbonate (CaCO3).

Kekuli Bay Provincial Park, formerly Kalamalka West Provincial Park, is a provincial park in British Columbia, Canada, located on the west shore of Kalamalka Lake on BC Highway 97 south of Vernon. The lake is popular for waterskiing and boating, and the park includes a boat launch, as well as a campground with a view of the lake. The park was established in 1990. Its size is about 57 hectares (140 acres).

Oyama is a neighbourhood and formal ward located within the district municipality of Lake Country, which is located in the Okanagan region in British Columbia, Canada. It is located at the north end of Wood Lake and at the south end of Kalamalka Lake opposite BC Highway 97.

Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park and Protected Area is a provincial park in Coldstream, British Columbia, Canada. Located within the Okanagan region, the park encompasses a land area of about 978 hectares (2,420 acres) of pristine natural areas in the North Okanagan Regional District. Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park and Protected Area adopted its current name from Kalamalka Lake, for which it is located on its shore. During the process of entering summer, calcium carbonate forms crystals that reflect sunlight and create the vivid blue and green colours. Temperature changes in the fall and the spring sometimes create ribbons of deep blue colour in the lake, seen from the park. The park is a preserved remnant of the natural grasslands that once stretched from Vernon to Osoyoos. There are several forests and cross-country ski trails available throughout the year, along with two archaeological sites. Mammals include coyote, deer, black bear, Columbian ground squirrel, marmot, mink, bobcat and red fox.

CJIB-FM (107.5 MHz) is a radio station in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada. Owned by the Jim Pattison Group, it broadcasts an adult hits format branded as Beach Radio 107.5.

CICF-FM is a Canadian radio station broadcasting at 105.7 FM in Vernon, British Columbia with a country format branded on-air as Pure Country 105.7. The station is owned by Bell Media. The station began broadcasting on October 23, 1978 at 1050 kHz as CKAL. In 1981, CKAL added FM transmitters to rebroadcast the programming of CKAL in Nakusp, New Denver, and Kaslo, while another one was added to Armstrong/Enderby on 89.7 MHz in 1986. CKAL became CICF in 1987. The rebroadcasters CICF-FM-2 New Denver and CICF-FM-3 Kaslo were granted to change their programming source from CICF to CKKC in Nelson in 1990, and CICF-FM-1 Nakusp was shut down in 1997 and taken over by CKKC. The "CKAL" calls are now used by a television station in Calgary, Alberta. On November 28, 2001, CICF moved to FM band at 105.7 MHz, and became hot adult contemporary station Sun FM. CICF was acquired by Astral Media in 2007 along with the former terrestrial broadcasting assets of Standard Radio. By 2010, CICF switched to CHR/Top 40. On November 19, 2020, the station flipped to country as Pure Country 105.7, becoming the latest Bell Media station to adopt the "Pure Country" branding. CIMX-FM in Windsor, Ontario and CJCJ-FM in Woodstock, New Brunswick would also switch to the "Pure Country" format and branding the same day.

Predator Ridge Golf Resort is a 36-hole golf resort community in the Okanagan Valley outside Vernon, British Columbia. Predator Ridge Resort spans 1,200 acres and is home to a community of over 600 people. The community was acquired by Wesbild Holdings Ltd in 2007. Opened in 1991, Predator Ridge hosted the British Columbia Open in 1993. The original two nine-hole loops, designed by Les Furber, were named after resident birds of prey: The Osprey and The Red Tail. A third nine-hole course was built in 2000, named The Peregrine. To expand into a 36-hole golf facility, architect Doug Carrick was hired to build 9 new holes as well as renovate the original 9-hole Peregrine course. This new 18-hole golf course was renamed The Predator Course. In 2010, Carrick opened another 18-hole course which was named The Ridge Course. Predator Ridge is the only Golf Digest 4.5 star course in the Okanagan, and was voted as the best BC golf course by the Vancouver Sun.The Ridge Course is a par-72 championship 18-hole course which opened in July 2010. It was voted best new golf course in Canada in 2010 by Scoregolf. From the tournament tees, The Ridge Course measures 7123 yards with a slope rating of 133 and course rating of 73.8. The Predator course hosted the Telus World Skins Game, twice, in 2000 and 2008. It is a par-71 golf course with elevated greens and links-style bunkers. From the tournament tees, The Predator Course measures 7090 yards with a slope rating of 137 and course rating of 74.2.

Okanagan Landing was an unincorporated settlement and steamboat port at the north end of Okanagan Lake in the Southern Interior of British Columbia. Located southwest of the city of Vernon, it was the terminus station for the Shuswap and Okanagan Railway and served as the port and shipyard for steamboats operating to the south, as well as a transfer barge slip.

Truman Dagnus Locheed Provincial Park is a former provincial park in British Columbia, Canada, located on the northeast side of Okanagan Lake to the southwest of the city of Vernon. It was transferred to ownership by the town of Vernon in March 2013.

Wood Lake is a lake in a chain of five major lakes which occupies portions of the Okanagan Valley in the interior of British Columbia, Canada. The lakes of the Okanagan Valley were formed by about 8900 BP. Wood Lake is immediately south of Kalamalka Lake and in 1908 was connected to it by a dredged channel (the Oyama canal). Situated between Oyama and Winfield, it has a solid reputation for rainbow trout fishing. The lake is named after Tom Wood, who settled on the south end of the lake around 1860.The dry climate and suitable soil has encouraged development of a substantial tree fruit industry around the lake and throughout the valley. The upper watershed is heavily forested and has been logged for several decades. The lower elevation of the watershed is described as a Ponderosa pine/bunchgrass area.

Vernon Regional Airport (IATA: YVE, ICAO: CYVK) is a small, non-towered airport 2.3 nautical miles (4.3 km; 2.6 mi) southwest of the centre of Vernon, British Columbia, Canada.

Lumby Junction is a railway point in Osoyoos Division Yale Land District, British Columbia, Canada, near the north end of Kalamalka Lake, at coordinates 50°14′N 119°16′W. Lumby Junction is on the Kelowna Pacific Railway, which operated over railway lines leased from Canadian National Railway Company until Kelowna Pacific entered receivership and ceased operations on June 6, 2013. On September 26, 2013, Canadian National announced that it had reached agreements with a major shipper and two locals of the Teamsters union that would allow CN to resume operations over most of the Kelowna Pacific. CN said it planned to abandon the line between Lumby Junction and Kelowna.
