Marlowe House is a Metropolitan Police building in Sidcup, London, built in 1966. Along with administrative areas, since 19 March 2012 its ground floor has also housed Sidcup's police station. A refurbishment was completed in 2020.

Sidcup railway station serves Sidcup, south-east London, within the London Borough of Bexley. It is 11 miles 73 chains (19.2 km) down the line from London Charing Cross. It is in Travelcard Zone 5, and the station is managed by Southeastern.

Bird College – Conservatoire for Dance and Musical Theatre is an independent performing arts school and college, located in Sidcup, South East London, in the London Borough of Bexley. The college was founded as a dance school by Doreen Bird in 1946 and now provides specialist vocational training in dance and musical theatre, at further and higher education level. The college is one of many providers of vocational performing arts training in the United Kingdom. In addition, the college also receives a grant from Bexley Council to provide music services to schools in the borough.The college prepares students for a professional career in the performing arts and has a reputation of feeding artists into West End and Broadway theatre, dance companies, television, film, pop music and other high-profile areas of the entertainments industry. Key areas of study include ballet, tap, jazz and contemporary dance, singing, voice craft and drama. Bird College is an accredited college of the Council for Dance Education and Training. Full-time students at the college study for either the Diploma in Professional Musical Theatre, validated by Trinity College, London, or the BA Hons in Professional Dance and Musical Theatre, validated by the University of Greenwich. The college is also an approved dance centre of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD), and students can study towards the ISTD dance teaching qualifications.

Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School is a mixed-sex grammar school with academy status located in Hurst Road (A222), Sidcup in the London Borough of Bexley, England. It is located adjacent to Lamorbey Park, the Rose Bruford College drama school and Hurstmere School. Pupils at the school are divided into a series of six houses, known as Davies, Edlmann, Lester, Townshend, Williams, and Staff, while an annual school magazine, The Chronicle, is also produced by the students. The current head teacher, Nigel Walker, has held his position since 2009. Founded as the Sidcup County School for Boys in 1931 to meet the lack of secondary schools in the newly urbanised town, it was initially opened at 27 Station Road, with the position of first headmaster being given to C. R. McGregor Williams. In 1935, the school began moving into a purpose-built site at Crittall's Corner, Footscray, being renamed Chislehurst and Sidcup County School in 1938. Damaged during The Blitz, after the culmination of the Second World War, reforms implemented as a result of the Education Act 1944 led to the local decision that the institution would become a grammar school and that it would relocate to a new, larger building on Hurst Road in the Lamorbey area of Sidcup, a move that took place after the resignation of McGregor Williams in 1954. As a result of the government's Circular 10/65 in 1965, plans were implemented to merge Chislehurst and Sidcup with the neighbouring Hurstmere into a single comprehensive school, although these were opposed by the successive Conservative Party administrations of Bexley Council, eventually being scuppered under the Conservative government of Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in the 1980s. In 1973 the school was made co-educational, admitting female pupils alongside the male, resulting in the adoption of its current name. The school rose to national headlines in January 1983 following the suspension of most of the school's sixth form for drinking alcohol at the preceding Christmas party. In 2004 it became a sports college and in 2011 an academy.

Rose Bruford College (formerly Rose Bruford College of Theatre & Performance) is a drama school in the south London suburb of Sidcup. The college has degree programmes in acting, actor musicianship, directing, theatre arts and various disciplines of stagecraft.Its undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications and programmes were validated by the University of Manchester, until it received taught degree awarding powers in 2017. It is a member of the Federation of Drama Schools.

Albany Park is an area in south east London, England, within the London Borough of Bexley. It is located 12.0 miles (19 km) south east of Charing Cross. Located midway between Sidcup and Bexley, Albany Park is situated on high ground overlooking the valleys of the River Cray and the River Shuttle.Originally a rural area used as farmland, the settlement was established by a commercial housing developer, New Ideal Homesteads, during the 1930s. They built two estates at the site, Albany Park Estate and Royal Park Estate, which were sold at cheap prices to working-class families emigrating from Inner London. The company also brought about the foundation of Albany Park railway station in 1935, providing transport links to the estates along the Dartford Loop Line. Following decades saw a number of schools and both a Baptist church hall and an Anglican church constructed in the area, the latter of which has attracted attention for its architectural innovation.

Lamorbey is a district of South East London in the London Borough of Bexley, located north of Sidcup. It borders the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Significant buildings in the area are Holy Trinity Church, Lamorbey House and some of the original surviving buildings of The Hollies children's home (now converted to residential use). The oldest house in Sidcup, dating from 1452, can also be found in the district. The principal road becomes Halfway Street and is flanked by old cottages and Ye Olde Black Horse pub, established in 1743, though rebuilt in 1892. Lamorbey House, a listed building in a well maintained public park, houses Rose Bruford College. Lamorbey Park adjacent to the house contains large ponds where fishing continues. Sidcup Golf Course is located to its east, as are Hurstmere School and Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School, whose pupils wear distinctive purple blazers. The district is typical suburbia, mainly built in the 1930s. Prior to that much of the land was used for the growing of hops—wild hops may still be found growing on the Old Farm Avenue allotments. Some farmbuildings were located next to Sidcup sorting office and included characteristic Kentish oast houses. Other local landmarks are the clock house, pool and the former administrative block of The Hollies children's home (1901–1983) which is now at the heart of an up-market housing estate.

Sidcup is an area of south-east London, England, primarily in the London Borough of Bexley. It is 11.3 miles (18.2 km) south-east of Charing Cross, bordering the London Boroughs of Bromley and Greenwich, and is in the historic county of Kent. The name is thought to be derived from Cetecopp meaning "seat shaped or flat topped hill"; it had its earliest recorded use in 1254. The population of Sidcup, including its neighbourhoods Foots Cray, North Cray, Albany Park, Longlands, Ruxley, Blackfen and Lamorbey, was 43,109 in 2011.

Lamorbey Park is a 57 hectare park in Lamorbey, in the London Borough of Bexley, set around a Grade II listed mansion, Lamorbey House. The original 17th century estate consisted of 119 hectares, but over time sections of the estate have been separated for other uses, including two secondary schools (Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School and Hurstmere School), Rose Bruford College, and Sidcup Golf Club. The area of the park still in public ownership includes The Glade, a 7.4 hectare area of historic landscape laid in the 1920s with a large lake. The park was added to the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens of special historic interest in 1988.

Sidcup Art College, also known as Sidcup School of Art, was an art college in Grassington Road, Sidcup, Greater London, England. Founded in 1898, it amalgamated in 1962 with Bromley College of Art and Beckenham School of Art to form Ravensbourne College of Art and Design, now Ravensbourne University London.

Wyncham Stream (Also spelt Wincham Stream) is a small river within the London Boroughs of Bexley and Bromley in southeast London, England, United Kingdom. It is 5.6 km (3.5 mi) in length and is a tributary of the River Shuttle. The stream rises from several sources in Chislehurst in the London Borough of Bromley and the BR7 post code area. It then flows north through Foxbury and Kemnal, with small ponds and woodlands such as Ash Grove on its course, following some of Kemnal Road and passing through the sports grounds of Flamingo Park and the Jack Nicklaus Golf Centre. It continues northeast under the Sidcup By-Pass (A20) and the adjacent Foots Cray Road (A211) into the London Borough of Bexley and DA15 post code area. It then flows under the section of railway line between Sidcup and New Eltham stations and under several residential roads, including Halfway Street (B2214), passing through Longlands, Lamorbey, on the northwest side of Sidcup. Where the stream passes under Halfway Street, the bridge here was named Wincham Bridge in the early twentieth century, and Vincent Bridge in the nineteenth century. The stream then passes through some small green areas including allotments, the small Beverley Wood, and finally flows into Blackfen where it joins the longer River Shuttle in Hollyoak Wood Park. Some of the stream's course lies between the backs of domestic gardens, while in other places some roads have been built with a separate lane either side of the river with narrow grassy banks. Some of the small nearby residential roads have river-related names, such as Wyncham Avenue, taken directly from the river, but also: Brooklands Road, Brookend Road, and Shuttle Close after the River Shuttle.

Hurstmere School (formerly Hurstmere Foundation School for Boys) is an all-boys secondary school with academy status, located on Hurst Road in Sidcup, a suburb of London, England. It shares its site with the Jumping Jacks Day Nursery. The school was designated as a sports college in 2003 and also as a science college in 2008. In February 2012, the school was converted to an academy under the Academies Act 2010.In 2007 the school was in the top 50 most improved schools over the past three years. In 2010, the school was reported as achieving a 41% rate for at least five GCSEs at A* to C grade including maths and English among its 207 GCSE students, and an overall A* to C pass rate in at least five exams of 74%. In July 2011, its GCSE results improved. 85% of students gained at least five A* to C grades with 58% gaining five A* to C grades in subjects including Maths and English.An Ofsted inspection report in 2014 rated the school as "good", with an "excellent" capacity for sustained improvement. The report remarked on the school's "outstanding leadership" and the marked improvement in attendance since the last inspection in December 2007.The school holds an annual prize-giving ceremony which commends students who have done exceptionally well in their subjects. The prizes are presented by a guest speaker who is usually associated with the school or its specialist subjects.The school has a few guest speakers visit each year to inform students about life choices, these include Peter York and a local Olympian.
