The Illinois Envelope Co. Building is a former industrial structure located at 400 Bryant Street (alternatively, 311 East Alcott Street) in Kalamazoo, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. In 2018, the building became the home of the Kalamazoo County Health and Community Services Department.

Bronson Methodist Hospital is a 434-bed non-profit teaching hospital located in downtown Kalamazoo, Michigan, United States, and is a Level I trauma center. Bronson Methodist Hospital is the flagship of the Bronson Healthcare Group, a non-profit healthcare system serving all of southwest Michigan and northern Indiana. Bronson Methodist Hospital provides care in cardiology, orthopedics, surgery, emergency medicine, neurology, oncology; in neurological care as a Comprehensive Stroke Center; in cardiac care as a Chest Pain Center; in obstetrics as a BirthPlace and high-risk pregnancy center, and in pediatrics as a children's hospital. The hospital is located on a 28-acre (11 ha) urban campus, which includes a heliport.

Soisson-Rapacz-Clason Field, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, is a 2,200 seat multipurpose stadium. Its primary tenants are Kalamazoo Christian High School, Hackett Catholic Central High School and Kalamazoo FC of USL League Two. They also hosted the Kalamazoo Outrage, a soccer team playing in the USL Premier Development League from 2007 to 2010. Soisson-Rapacz Field was also home to the Kalamazoo Lassies of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League from 1950-1954. The Lassies were one of the more popular teams in the AAGPBL, routinely drawing crowds of over 1,000 spectators. They won the League championship in 1954, the last year of the AAGPBL. [3]

Homer Stryker Field is a stadium in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The baseball field is located in Kalamazoo's Mayors Riverfront Park. It is primarily used for baseball, and is the home field for the Kalamazoo Growlers of the collegiate summer baseball Northwoods League. It used to be the home field of the Kalamazoo Kings minor league baseball team in the Frontier League. It opened in 1963, and holds 4,000 people.Homer Stryker Field became the home of the Kalamazoo Kings in 2001. It had hosted the Kodiaks, another Frontier League team; each team has made some renovations to a facility that has been in use in some form since 1925, although the oldest part of the current structure, a concrete grandstand now with aluminum benches, appears to date to 1963. The 1995 renovation added new aluminum seating and a press box above the old grandstand, along with some additional bleacher sections flanking the central stand. Some new outbuildings have been constructed in the last few years. The field is somewhat unorthodox in that home plate is at the northeast corner of the grounds; traditionally and commonly, baseball fields have home plate at the westernmost end of the grounds so batters do not have to face the sun while hitting. Homer Stryker was the patriarch of the Stryker Corporation. The Stryker family bought the naming rights in 2002 and placed Homer's name on the field.

Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine (WMed) is a private medical school in Kalamazoo, Michigan. WMed was established in 2012 and confers the Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree, as well as Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences degree and the Master of Science in Medical Engineering degree. WMed is a collaboration between Western Michigan University and Kalamazoo's two teaching hospitals, Ascension Borgess (formerly Borgess Health) and Bronson Healthcare. The inaugural class of 54 students started in August 2014. Although affiliated with the public Western Michigan University, WMed is administratively a private nonprofit school under a separate corporate charter, supported by private gifts, clinical revenue, student tuition, and endowment income. In March 2011, Western Michigan University received a gift of $100 million for the medical school from the Stryker family. In 2018, WMed was granted full accreditation by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME), graduated its first class of 48 students, and all graduates were matched to residency programs across the nation.

The Bronson Upjohn Building, previously known as the Upjohn Company Office Building or Building 24, is an office building located at 301 John Street in Kalamazoo, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2022.

The Rose Place Historic District is a small residential historic district located along Rose Place in Kalamazoo, Michigan. It is an example of an "urban court development," which proliferated in Kalamazoo around the turn of the 20th century. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The Grand Rapids and Indiana Railroad Depot, is a former railway station in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The original station was built on the site in 1870 by the Grand Rapids and Indiana Railroad. A fire destroyed the building in 1874 and the present structure was built as its replacement. It was later used by the Pennsylvania Railroad and saw passenger service as a stop of the Northern Arrow.The building was designated a Michigan State Historic Site on March 2, 1976. The station building is designed in an Italian Revival style.

In 1990, the Allied Paper, Inc./Portage Creek/Kalamazoo River in southwestern Michigan was declared by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to be a Superfund site – in other words, an abandoned industrial site containing significant amounts of toxic waste. The EPA and companies responsible for the waste in this area, which includes a three-mile section of Portage Creek as well as part of the Kalamazoo River, into which it flows, are currently involved in an effort to reduce the amount of toxic waste at the site, which is contaminated by PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls) from paper mills and other factories.
