Point Park University

109–115 Wood Street (also known as Hartje Bros. Paper Manufacturing Co. or the Pittsburgh Ballet Theater Building) are two buildings located in Downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The Pittsburgh Council on Higher Education is a consortium of colleges and universities in the Pittsburgh metro area. The organization exists to allow the schools and their students to take advantage of each other's resources and to facilitate sharing them. Any full-time student at a member school may cross-register at another member school, barring certain restrictions.

The Carlyle is a 300 ft (91m) tall skyscraper at Fourth Avenue and Wood Street in Pittsburgh. It was completed in 1906 and has 21 floors. It is tied with Washington Plaza and the Commonwealth Building for 27th tallest building in the city.

The Investment Building is a 1927 neo-classical skyscraper in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania located at 239 Fourth Avenue and part of the Fourth Avenue Historic District. The original name of the structure was the Insurance Exchange Building.Designed by John M. Donn, a Washington, D.C. architect, the tower is of the same approximate façade dimensions as its 4th Avenue neighbors the Arrott Building and Benedum-Trees Building, both built a generation earlier. Constructed from limestone, and a darker, more textured brick, the tower is noted for simplicity and lightness of form and detailing. The roof corners feature chamfered obelisk-like elements.

The Boulevard of the Allies is a mostly four-lane road in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania, connecting Downtown Pittsburgh with the Oakland neighborhood of the city. Because of its lengthy name, locals sometimes refer to it as simply "The Boulevard". Some sections are part of Pennsylvania Route 885. The road begins in Downtown Pittsburgh at its intersection with Commonwealth Place and an offramp from Interstate 279. The road continues east through Downtown passing Point Park University and the former Art Institute of Pittsburgh building to Grant Street where it becomes elevated to transition from the flat plain of Downtown to the bluff that Oakland sits on. Before reaching Oakland, it passes by Duquesne University and Mercy Hospital along the edge of a cliff several hundred feet above the Monongahela River with views of the city's South Side neighborhood and includes partial interchanges with Interstate 579 and Interstate 376. At its interchange with I-579, the road is split; westbound traffic must exit from the road onto I-579 or the Liberty Bridge. The second westbound portion of Boulevard of the Allies is only accessible via an entrance ramp from the Liberty Bridge. Upon reaching Oakland, it cuts through the southern portion of the neighborhood and leads into Schenley Park just bypassing the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University. Upon entering the park across the Anderson Bridge, the road's name changes to Panther Hollow Road (named after Panther Hollow) and continues through the park to become Hobart Street in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood east of Schenley Park. The road is named in honor of the Allies of World War I. The Boulevard of the Allies was rededicated on June 29, 2008 as part of the celebration of Pittsburgh's 250th anniversary. As part of the rededication, American flags have been added on both sides of the boulevard as it elevates toward the Liberty Bridge ramp and thirty temporary banners celebrating the Allies of World War I have been affixed, following the road to its end.

Arrott Building is a skyscraper located at Fourth Avenue and Wood Street in downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1902 and was designed by Frederick J. Osterling. The building and several surrounding financial buildings are part of the Fourth Avenue Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Arrott Building was added to the list of Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation Historic Landmarks in 2000.The building opened in May 2021 as The Industrialist Hotel, part of the Autograph Collection by Marriott.

Benedum–Trees Building located at 223 Fourth Avenue in downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was built in 1905. The building was commissioned by Caroline Jones Machesney, the daughter and sole heir of a Pittsburgh banker, making it the first skyscraper in the city ordered by and built for a woman. It was originally called the Machesney Building until 1913, when Machesney sold it for $10 million to two local men who had gotten rich drilling for oil, Joe Trees and Michael Late Benedum. For the next 40 years, the fifteenth floor was home to their offices. The building, designed by Thomas H. Scott, was added to the List of Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation Historic Landmarks in 1973. The building is 19 stories tall. Benedum Trees Oil Company was founded in 1904, by Michael Late Benedum and Joe Trees]in Wheeling, Virginia. In 1929 Benedum Trees opened a subsidiary Republic Oil Refining Company in Texas City, Texas.

The Firstside Historic District is a historic district in downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on July 28, 1988, and its boundaries were expanded on May 8, 2013.

The Burke Building in downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is a building from 1836. It was Pittsburgh's first major office building and a major anchor of the city's financial district centered on Fourth Avenue. Since the 1845 Great Fire burned over a thousand buildings, it is the city's only remaining large Greek Revival building. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

The Engine Company No. 1 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania was located at 344 Boulevard of the Allies in downtown Pittsburgh, and Engine Company No. 30 is located directly behind it, on the other side of the building, at 341 First Avenue. Built around 1900, architect William Y. Brady, the Boulevard of the Allies facade is Beaux Arts and Classical in design, and the First Avenue facade mixes Romanesque and Classical styles. Both were added to the List of City of Pittsburgh historic designations (together, as a single listing) on March 17, 1993.In 2011 the city sold the closed station to Point Park University.

The Fourth Avenue Historic District is a historic district in downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. The district was the center of finance and banks for the city during the decades surrounding the turn of the 20th century. Many ornate structures still exist from that era, including the location of the Pittsburgh Stock Exchange on the corner of Fourth Avenue and Smithfield Street from 1864-1903, the now vacant lot of its location at 229 Fourth Avenue from 1903 to 1962 and the still standing structure of the Exchange from 1962 until it closed in 1974. It is roughly bounded by Smithfield Street, Third Avenue, Market Square Place, and Fifth Avenue. The period of significance for the District is from 1871 (when the initial phase of the Dollar Bank building construction was finished) to 1934 (50 years before preparation of the nomination to the NRHP).Some of its structures are: Burke Building, 211 4th Ave. (1836) Dollar Bank, 340 4th Ave. (1871) Pittsburgh Stock Exchange, 333 4th Ave. Arrott Building, 401 4th Ave. (1902) Benedum-Trees Building, 223 4th Ave. (1905) The Carlyle, 306 4th Ave. (1906) Skinny Building, 241 Forbes Ave. (1926) Investment Building, 239 4th Ave. (1927)The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on September 5, 1985. A boundary increase was added on March 20, 2013.
