The burning of the British Embassy in Dublin happened on 2 February 1972 at 39 Merrion Square. This occurred during demonstrations by a very large and angry crowd (estimates vary between 20,000-100,000 people), following the Bloody Sunday massacre in Derry on 30 January 1972, when the British Army's Parachute Regiment shot dead 14 unarmed Catholic civilians during a civil rights demonstration.

The Georgian mile is an unofficial term used to describe a continuous, near mile-long thoroughfare largely lined with Georgian townhouses in Dublin, Ireland. It comprises Fitzwilliam Place, Fitzwilliam Square East, Fitzwilliam Street, and Merrion Square East. According to The Irish Times, the stretch was once "the longest and arguably the finest Georgian streetscape in the world." It was built between the 1780s and the 1830s.

L'Ecrivain (French pronunciation: ​[le.kʁi.vɛ̃], meaning "The Writer") was a restaurant on Lower Baggot Street in Dublin, Ireland, which was awarded one Michelin star from 2003 to 2020. The Michelin Guide awarded the restaurant the "Red M", indicating "good food at a reasonable price", from 1996 to 1999.The restaurant's proprietor was Irish celebrity chef Derry Clarke, who has appeared on such television programmes as The Restaurant, The Afternoon Show and The Panel (in 2008) and has also been a judge on the reality television series Fáilte Towers. L'Ecrivain was described as "Dublin's corporate canteen" by the Irish Independent. The restaurant was opened in 1989 by Derry Clarke and his wife Sallyann. It closed in March 2021.

Saint Stephen's Church, popularly known as The Pepper Canister, is the formal Church of Ireland chapel-of-ease for the parish of the same name in Dublin, Ireland. The church is situated on Mount Street Upper. It was begun in 1821 by John Bowden and completed by Joseph Welland after the former's death. The nickname derives from the shape of the spire, resembling a pepper canister. It was originally conceived as a chapel-of-ease for the parish of St Peter's, Aungier Street, which was the largest Church of Ireland parish in Dublin. In recent years, the church has become active both in faith activities and as a venue for musical and other events.
