King Edward VI Sheldon Heath Academy is a mixed secondary school and sixth form located in the Sheldon area of Birmingham, in the West Midlands of England.Previously known as Sheldon Heath School, the school gained specialist status as an Arts College and was renamed Sheldon Heath Community Arts College. In September 2010 the school converted to academy status and was renamed King Edward VI Sheldon Heath Academy. The school moved into a new building in 2013.It is a non-selective school which is sponsored by the Schools of King Edward VI in Birmingham Group. The group includes the grammar schools King Edward VI Aston School, King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Boys, King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Girls, King Edward VI Five Ways School and King Edward VI Handsworth School. King Edward VI Sheldon Heath Academy offers GCSEs and BTECs as programmes of study for pupils, while students in the sixth form have the option to study from a range of A-levels and further BTECs.

Sheldon is an area of east Birmingham, England. Historically part of Warwickshire, it is close to the border with the Metropolitan Borough of Solihull and Birmingham Airport. Sheldon is also one of the 69 electoral wards in Birmingham, and one of the four wards that make up the council constituency of Yardley. It covers an area of 2.3 square miles (6.0 km2; 1,500 acres). Areas covered by the ward are Lyndon Green, Well's Green, Sheldon itself and part of Garrett's Green. Sheldon was mentioned in the Domesday Book as Machitone, meaning "Macca's farm". A Mackadown Farm existed in the area until the First World War, however, it is only remembered through Mackadown Lane, a residential road.The suburb is home to the 300 acre Sheldon Country Park, a popular local attraction.

Tile Cross is an area in the east of the city of Birmingham, England. It lies within the historic county of Warwickshire. It is a small area with a shopping centre on the borders of Stechford, Marston Green and the Radleys. The name originates from the tile production at the former quarry that existed on what is now parkland between St Peter's C of E Church and Shirestone School. Landmarks in the area include Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, a Grade II listed building, which has an associated primary school, and nearby Sheldon Hall, a Grade II* listed building.

Our Lady Help of Christians is a Grade II* listed catholic church in Tile Cross, Birmingham. Built in 1966–67 and designed by Richard Gilbert Scott of Giles Scott, Son and Partner. The church is active with Sunday mass at 09:30 and 17:00. The nearby Our Lady's Catholic Primary School is associated with the church.

Elmdon Park is a park and local nature reserve in Elmdon, Solihull, West Midlands. It was established in 1944 when the house and grounds of the derelict Elmdon Hall were bought up by the then Solihull Urban District Council. The house was used by the Home Guard during the war years, but the building subsequently became derelict, suffering from a rotten staircase and roof, and was demolished in 1956.

Lyndon School is a co-educational secondary school in Solihull, West Midlands, England. It is situated near to the Birmingham boundary and draws pupils from both Solihull and Birmingham. The school regularly houses half term sports clubs. It also held a specialist Humanities College status between 2006 and 2010 when the Specialist Schools Programme ended. The school converted to academy status in September 2015.

Lyndon is a district within the Metropolitan Borough of Solihull in the English county of the West Midlands. The population of the Lyndon Ward at the 2011 census was 13,574. It was the home of the Lyndon family. The home (Lyndon Manor) is long gone but became Olton Jubilee Park on Lyndon Rd. It was born in Acocks Green and named after the family home and the park. There is a local historical society with some knowledge of the family before they built the Manor. The ancient monument of Hob's Moat is nearby, as is Hatchford Brook. The place name "Lyndon" is Anglo-Saxon in origin and refers to a hill bearing a lime tree. The area is not now generally called Lyndon, but amenities such as schools and pubs have Lyndon in their title. Lyndon Ward elects its representatives on to Solihull Council three in every four years.
