Mill River is a primarily industrial neighborhood in the city of New Haven, Connecticut located between the Wooster Square and Fair Haven neighborhoods.The area is bordered on the east by the Mill River (from I-95 up to the vicinity of Humphrey Street) then by Amtrak railroad tracks (up to Blatchley Avenue). It is bordered on the west and northwest by Interstate 91 (between Exits 2 and 6), and on the south by Interstate 95. There are two clusters of residential areas in the neighborhood, Farnam Courts, which are low cost apartments managed by the Housing Authority of New Haven, and the area around Jocelyn Square, which was traditionally part of the Upper State Street neighborhood. The northeastern corner of the area east of the river between I-91 (from Exit 5 to 6) and the railroad tracks, where the garage for Connecticut Transit New Haven is located, is also considered to be part of the community known as Cedar Hill. Hamilton Street and East Street are the main north–south thoroughfares, while Humphrey Street, Grand Avenue, and Chapel Street serve as east–west through routes. English Station, an abandoned power plant, is located on Ball Island in Mill River.

The M. Armstrong and Company Carriage Factory is a historic carriage factory building at 433 Chapel St. in New Haven, Connecticut. Built in 1882, it is one of a small number of surviving 19th-century carriage factories in a city that once had more than 50 such businesses. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.

The Quinnipiac Trail is a 24-mile (39 km) Blue-Blazed hiking trail in New Haven County, Connecticut. It is the product of the evolution and growth of the first 10.6-mile (17.1 km) trail designated in Connecticut's Blue-Blazed Hiking Trail system, with its light-blue rectangular vertical painted blazes .

New Haven Academy is a four-year, ninth through twelfth grade high school in New Haven, CT. New Haven Academy was founded by Gregory Baldwin and Meredith Gavrin in 2003 as an interdistrict magnet school and part of the New Haven Public School district. The school provides a college preparatory education modeled for Collaborative Education (ICE), a New York City school.Enrollment in the 2017-2018 year is approximately 280.

English Station is an abandoned thermal power plant in New Haven, Connecticut. It occupies eight acres of land on Ball Island in the Mill River, Connecticut, which separates the neighborhoods of Wooster Square and Fair Haven. It was constructed from 1924 to 1929. The plant operated as a coal- and oil-fired power plant for United Illuminating until it stopped electricity-generating operations in 1991. In 2019-2021 the turbines were removed and certain areas have been prepared for demolition. The site, which United Illuminating sold in 2000, is known to be heavily contaminated with asbestos and PCBs.

It is one of the Polish-American Roman Catholic parishes in New England in the Archdiocese of Hartford.

Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana, commonly known as Frank Pepe's or simply Pepe's (), is a popular pizza restaurant in the Wooster Square neighborhood of New Haven, Connecticut, at 163 Wooster Street. Opened in 1925, it is one of the oldest and best known pizzerias in the United States.

The Wooster Square Historic District encompasses much of the Wooster Square neighborhood of New Haven, Connecticut. Centered on a rectangular park named in honor of General David Wooster, the area was developed as a residential neighborhood beginning in the 1820s, and was by the 1840s a desirable area to live, with many high-quality Greek Revival homes. In the 1950s the area was the subject of a major community-led preservation effort that drew national attention. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.

Wooster Square is a neighborhood in the city of New Haven, Connecticut, to the east of downtown. The name refers to a park square (named for the American Revolutionary War hero, David Wooster) located between Greene Street, Wooster Place, Chapel Street and Academy Street in the center of the neighborhood. Wooster Square is also known as Little Italy: a bastion of Italian American culture and cuisine, and is home to some of New Haven's (and the country's), best-known pizza (specifically, apizza) eateries, including Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana and Sally's Apizza. The square and much of the neighborhood are included in the Wooster Square Historic District, which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971. An annual Cherry Blossom Festival in Wooster Square Park commemorates the planting of 72 Yoshino Japanese cherry blossom trees in 1973 by the New Haven Historic Commission in collaboration with the New Haven Parks Department and neighborhood residents. The festival, founded and organized by the Historic Wooster Square Association, has grown from a modest event in the early 1970s with a local band entertaining a handful of neighbors under lighted trees to a major New Haven event that in 2016 attracted over 10,000 visitors.
