South Milwaukee is a city in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 20,795 at the 2020 census.

The South Milwaukee Post Office is a Neoclassical-styled U.S. Post office built in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1931. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

South Milwaukee High School, "Home of the Rockets," is a high school located in the city of South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States, a suburb of Milwaukee. Approximately 1,000 students attend the high school. The school is operated by the School District of South Milwaukee.

Wisconsin's 4th congressional district is a congressional district of the United States House of Representatives in Wisconsin, encompassing a part of Milwaukee County and including almost all of the city of Milwaukee (except the slivers of the city in Waukesha and Washington counties), as well as its working-class suburbs of Cudahy, St. Francis, South Milwaukee, and West Milwaukee. Recent redistricting has added the Milwaukee County North Shore communities of Glendale, Shorewood, Whitefish Bay, Fox Point, Bayside, and Brown Deer to the district. It is currently represented by Gwen Moore, a Democrat. With a Cook Partisan Voting Index rating of D+25, it is the most Democratic district in Wisconsin. John Kerry won 69% of the vote here in 2004. Barack Obama also swept the district in 2008, by a three-to-one margin over John McCain, with 75.39% of the vote to McCain's 23.61%. Before the 2000 census, the 4th covered much of south Milwaukee, and extended into eastern Waukesha County. After Wisconsin lost a district in the 2000 census, the 4th was cut back to a Milwaukee County district.

Cudahy () is a city in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 18,204 at the 2020 census.

Midwest Express Airlines Flight 105 was a scheduled domestic passenger flight that crashed into an open field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin shortly after taking off from General Mitchell International Airport on September 6, 1985. The airplane, a Douglas DC-9, was carrying 31 passengers and crew. None of them survived the crash. Multiple eyewitnesses reported that the plane was on fire shortly after it took off from the airport. The fire was caused due to a failure on the right engine where one of its removable sleeve spacers detached. The removable sleeve spacer suffered metal fatigue that caused the engine to explode. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), the investigation team who was responsible for the investigation of the crash, concluded that despite the plane suffering engine failure, it was still controllable, and instead the response of the crew to the failure was the main cause of the accident. The crew failed to properly control the plane during the emergency. Breakdown of the crew's coordination also contributed to the crash.

Oak Creek is a city in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. Located in Milwaukee County, it sits on the southwestern shore of Lake Michigan and is located immediately south of Milwaukee. The city is one of the fastest growing in Milwaukee County and all of Wisconsin. As of the 2020 census, the population was 36,497. The area has experienced an economic boom in recent years, with the addition of large companies such as Amazon, IKEA, and the Astronautics Corporation of America.

Cudahy High School is a public high school which serves Cudahy, Wisconsin, a suburb of Milwaukee in southeastern Milwaukee County, Wisconsin. It is the only high school in the Cudahy School District. The school athletic teams are known as the Packers, in honor of the meatpacking industry which was once the city's raison d'être.

The Wisconsin Sikh temple shooting was a mass shooting that took place at the gurdwara (Sikh temple) in Oak Creek, Wisconsin on August 5, 2012 when 40-year-old Wade Michael Page fatally shot six people and wounded four others. A seventh victim died of his wounds in 2020. Page committed suicide by shooting himself in the head after he was shot in the hip by police.Page was an American white supremacist and Army veteran from Cudahy, Wisconsin. Apart from the shooter, all of the dead were members of the Sikh faith. The incident drew responses from President Barack Obama and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Dignitaries attended candlelight vigils in countries such as the U.S., Canada, and India. First Lady Michelle Obama visited the temple on August 23, 2012.

Oak Creek High School is a public four-year high school located in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. It is the sole high school of the Oak Creek-Franklin Joint School District, and one of the largest public schools in the state.

The Patrick Cudahy Memorial is a public art work by American artist Felix de Weldon, located in Sheridan Park in Cudahy, Wisconsin. The bronze sculpture depicts industrialist Patrick Cudahy standing and wearing a business suit. The inscription reads: PATRICK CUDAHY FOUNDER OF THE CITY OF CUDAHY MARCH 17 1849 - JULY 25, 1919 (shamrock) (Inscribed on side of base :) Lover of shrubs, flowers, trees (Inscribed on side of base:) Founder of the City of Cudahy

New Coeln (also called New Cöln, New Koeln and New Köln) is a neighborhood, formerly a rural hamlet in the Town of Lake of Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, United States, but now part of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It was settled by a group of German immigrants from the area around Cologne (German Köln) in the 1840s. By 1847, there were about fifty settlers, and a new Catholic parish, St. Stephen's, was formed. In the 1898 Hand Book of Wisconsin: Its History and Geography ... and Resources, Industries, and Commerce, it is listed as having a population of 35, and is described as follows:It has a blacksmith shop and a daily mail. The portion of the former settlement west of Howell Avenue is now part of the grounds of General Mitchell International Airport, but the inn known variously as Deuster's Saloon, New Coeln House, and the New Coeln House Dancehall is still open (currently branded as the Landmark 1850 Inn), and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
