Hambledon Cottage

Experiment Farm Cottage is a heritage-listed former farm and residence and now house museum at 9 Ruse Street, Harris Park, City of Parramatta, Sydney, Australia. It is one of Australia's oldest standing residences, being built in c.1834. It is located at the site of Experiment Farm, Australia's first European farmstead, which was itself created by Australia's first land grant. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.

Elizabeth Farm is an historic estate located at 70 Alice Street, Rosehill, a suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Elizabeth Farm was the family home of wool pioneer, John and his wife Elizabeth Macarthur. The estate was commenced in 1793 on a slight hill overlooking the upper reaches of Parramatta River, 23 kilometres (14 mi) west of Sydney Cove. The Burramattagal clan of the Dharug people are the traditional custodians of the area; their presence is recalled in the name Parramatta. The small, solid three-roomed brick cottage in the Australian Old Colonial style was transformed, by the late 1820s, into a smart country house, surrounded by 'pleasure grounds', orchards and almost 400 hectares (1,000 acres) of semi-cleared land. Enveloped within later extensions, the early cottage remains intact, making it Australia's oldest surviving European dwelling. The estate is managed by Sydney Living Museums as a museum that is open to the public for a modest fee. On 2 April 1999 the estate was listed on the New South Wales State Heritage Register, the first property entered on the register.

Comfort Lodge is a heritage-listed former residence and boarding house, now offices, at 62 Prospect Street, Rosehill, City of Parramatta, New South Wales, Australia. It was built in 1880. It is also known as Cransley. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.

Harrisford is a heritage-listed former residence, school building, factory and workshop at 182 George Street, Parramatta, City of Parramatta, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It was built between 1823 and 1829. The property is owned by The Kings School Old Boys Union. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.

Broughton House is a heritage-listed former residence, school and now nursing home at 43a Thomas Street, Parramatta, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It was built from 1838 and was possibly designed by John Verge. It has also been known as Newlands, Bowden House, Parramatta Convalescent Home and Parramatta Nursing Home. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 1 October 1999.

Macarthur Girls High School is situated on the Parramatta River next to Parramatta City, New South Wales, Australia. The school was named after John Macarthur, a pioneer of the Australian wool industry. The school was built in 1934 with later additions in 1955, 1975, 1996 and 2010. The school offers students a curriculum directed towards the Higher School Certificate with a combination of traditional and Vocational Education courses. The schools 75th birthday was in 2009. The School Students Representative Council celebrated the event by renovating the rose garden.

180 George Street (also known as the Charles and George Towers) is a residential skyscraper complex currently under-construction in Parramatta. New South Wales, Australia. The complex is being developed by property developer Meriton, with the towers being designed by Woods Bagot. Initial proposals were first lodged in 2016, with final approval being given in October 2019. Construction commenced in the same year and upon completion, the towers will become the tallest residential buildings in the suburb of Parramatta. The complex consists of the north tower, standing at a height of 213 metres (699 ft) and the south tower, standing at a height of 189 metres (620 ft). It will contain 553 residential dwellings, while the hotel component will comprise 346 rooms. The north tower topped out in July 2022, while the south tower topped out in November 2022.

On 2 October 2015, Farhad Khalil Mohammad Jabar, a 15-year-old boy, shot and killed Curtis Cheng, an unarmed police civilian finance worker, outside the New South Wales Police Force headquarters in Parramatta, Sydney, Australia. Jabar was subsequently shot and killed by special constables who were protecting the headquarters. As of 27 April 2016, four other men have been charged in relation to the shooting, among whom Raban Alou was convicted of terrorism offences in March 2018.NSW Police Commissioner Andrew Scipione described the event as a politically motivated act of terrorism.
