Damüls-Mellau (Ski Area)

Damüls is a village community and popular tourist resort in the district of Bregenz in the westernmost Austrian state of Vorarlberg.Damüls is known for its abundance of snow. In 2006, Damüls was awarded the honorary title "the snowiest village in the world".

The Bregenzerwald (German: Bregenzerwald, pronounced [ˈbʁeːɡɛnt͡sɐˌvalt] ) is one of the main regions in the state of Vorarlberg (Austria). It overlaps, but is not coterminous with, the Bregenz Forest Mountains, which belong to a range of the Northern Limestone Alps, specifically the northern flysch zone. It is the drainage basin of the Bregenzer Ach river.

The Glatthorn (obsolete: Damülser Horn) in Vorarlberg in Austria is the highest mountain in the Bregenz Forest Mountains with a height of 2,133 m (AA). It lies west of and above the saddle of Faschinajoch, between Damüls to the north and Fontanella in the Großwalsertal to the south.

The Bregenz Forest Mountains, also the Bregenzerwald Mountains (German: Bregenzerwaldgebirge), are a range of the Northern Limestone Alps and Eastern Alps, named after the town of Bregenz. The Bregenz Forest Mountains are located entirely in the Austrian state of Vorarlberg.

Damülser Mittagsspitze is a 2,095 m (AA) high mountain in the Bregenz Forest Mountains in the Austrian state Vorarlberg. The normal route starts from the upper station of a chairlift at 1810 m and is UIAA grade I.

Vorarlberg ( FOR-arl-burg, Austrian German: [foːɐ̯ˈarlbɛrk] ; Vorarlbergisch: Vorarlbearg, Voralbärg, or Voraadelbearg) is the westernmost state (Land) of Austria. Vorarlberg is also the only state in Austria in which the local dialect is not Austro-Bavarian, but rather an Alemannic dialect; it therefore has much more in common culturally with (historically) Alemannic-speaking German-speaking Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Baden-Württemberg, Bavarian Swabia, and Alsace than with the rest of Austria, southeastern Bavaria, and South Tyrol. Vorarlberg is to a large extent mountainous. About 37% (97,000 hectares) of its surface is forest.

Furkajoch (el. 1761 m.) is a high mountain pass in the Austrian Alps in the Bundesland of Vorarlberg. It connects the valley of the Bregenzer Ach (Bregenzer Wald) near Damüls with the Frutz valley near Laterns. The road is very popular with motorcycle riders and is closed in winter.

The Kanisfluh is a mostly isolated massif in the central Bregenz Forest Mountains between the municipalities Mellau and Au.The Kanisfluh is considered the most famous mountain and landmark of the Bregenz Forest, Vorarlberg, Austria.
